yeah.. you and your ms is welcome to join us... at the mean time, we are searching for a dog that is lost in the jungle.. as long as your ms have complete all the vaccinations and is taking heart gard.. is good enough...
ohh tats great might join im back... comin back soon will get more info abt it when im back from u guys .. enjoy ur jt n hope amanda can find her pup.. ....
it's been a while that i didn't read this forum. i always say that i want to join this jt but no time to join. busy with my finals rite now. maybe i'm goin to join when i graduate fr my course. actually u go jt which dog u bring? i'm not sure whether my MS can be so friendly to let u guys see. she sure will bark like she sees strangers. i'm trying to make her as friendly as possible. so jt is it a suitable place? i'm going have a car of my own so i don't think there is any other excuse for me that can't go for this jt. but the place is it got a lot of mud? so far is there any dog got infected of tick and fleas after this jt?
Dogs that is aggressive or not friendly is due to they have never been well socialise. One thing to remember is that once they get used to seeing people n dogs they wont be so 'unfriendly' as you termed it.
I wud say the JT is and will be a good start. You can always walk in front or behind of the group so that you can have some time for your MS to get used to the people, the walk, the mud and also the dogs around.
Get a good leash not long ones so that you have a better control in handling ur dog during the trek.
Do be prepare to get your dog wet so its advisable not to bath your dogs before the JT and also to your question of ticks n fleas... as long as you take care of your dogs properly they shouldn't be easily infected with the ticks n fleas.
All place even play ground or our house grassy patch have fleas n ticks during the season. So, its normal but precaution must be taken by the owner eg : bath n check them after the JT and give them Frontline if there is any to prevent it further.
thanks for the info. but if next time i come and join u guys and my dog so fierce and so 'unfriendly'....hehe... don't scare of her. i also kinda malu to bring her out which she will bark ppl. even she's in the car and someone pass by also she will bark.
if the dog is wet and with mud after the jt then my car also will dirty? lol... is there any MS join the jt?
dun worry. my growlster was fierce too. only started to socialize him when he turned one...now, he is quite settled down. won't growl that much and started playing with few other furkids. it takes time though. better late than never.
no issue about dirtying your car. bring a carrier box...wrap the back seats with cloth or get the stay down command in place and let furkid sit at the passenger leg area.
One way of making sure that your car wont be dirty is to use a cloth/newspaper as cover. Take a towel to dry the dog before put him/her in the car will eliminate alot of mud and water.
or alternatively you can bring a travelling cage and put her in it.
hope to see you !
If you dog is fierce or unfriendly then i wud advise u walk behind most of the people and give ur dog some time to get adjusted to going out, meeting people and seeing so many dogs.
Then also do use a good leash and when u walk ur dog in the trek shortened it so to have a better control (use a harness as it will be easier for u)
and as the trek there is lots of people who walks too so have to make sure that when there is anyone either infront of behind you, do give way to others 1st and bring poo bags to pick up the poo so not to dirty the nice wonderful jungle that we are using.
Session this saturday depends if we can find anyone to lead the trek this round or not... as most of us the regulars is busy this weekend due to work or school's commitment.
Do keep an eye on the event calendar .... who knows !
