Does Damansara Perdana Condo allow dogs? Can't Post

I wanted a JRT since watching Eddie on Frasier. Small and yet with lots of energy!

I am planning to move into a Perdana Condo at Damansara Perdana. Wanted to get a landed property, but no $$$. If you either know of someone, you reside there or own a dog at Perdana Condo, please let me know.

If a JRT is trained, can they be as quite as Eddie on TV?

Hi! I am staying in Perdana and keep a shih tzu in my unit. As long as he doesn't bark too loud till your neighbour complains then I think should be fine. Sometimes when I go to other floors I hear dog barking as well. So I guess it's ok as long as you have some nice and friendly neighbours.

Dreyc,

I stay also in Damansara Perdana and to be precise in Perdana View Condo. We also have a Shi Tzu and touch up to now, no one has complained about her yet. I have been going around my neighbours to inform them about my angel and they are ok with it as long that she does not make much noise.

Hi dreyc

Which condo in D'sara Perdana do you live? I'm at Perdana View Condo and i do have a ST. She won't bark unless I leave her alone at home, but only for a while. After that she's alright and will wait till i return. I carry her in and out from my unit to the carpark, not even hiding her in a bag, but then gotta use the bomba lift lah.

Hi!

Sorry for the LAate reply. Pheew....I'm relieved that I have members in the condo. We should meet up. I've been busy touching up the condo. Will moving in April 23rd.

After several weeks posting the message in puppy.com and reading up on the JRT was hesitating to get a Shih Tzu or Pug (quieter). However I dropped by at a pet store and BEHOLD they had 2 JRTs! I absolutely fell in Love with them. The dog's character suits me!

I'll likely be getting female JRT come July. Why July?? I would be going for a overseas trip as such I need time with my new pup to train him. Only then I foresee having time to bring him for daily walks. Weekends will be at Bandar Utama's Central Park to play with other dogs.

I have 3 dogs so far - all mongrels. As I was the "master" for 2 of them, they were will behaved. Never kept a pet in a condo before, please advise.

getting a new pup means getting a new family member, u need to find a suitable place as own for ur pup, they need a space as well. it is important to discuss with ur family member how u want the pup to behave, be consistent, dont give different reaction to the pup, for eg. father scolded the pup for sleeping on the bed but daughter allowed. & plan a good time schedule for ur dog, give rewards when she do the right thing. rewarding is the best way to train a dog, as u really just cant sit there & punish ur pup for everything she did wrong, y not reward her whenever she do the right thing so that she is encouraged to do it again & again? pups will become an adult very soon, so if u paper train ur pup, she will pee & poo at specific area when she is an adult, if u let her bite ur hand, of corse she will think biting is not wrong when she grows. hope u r not bored. actually there are more to learn, me as well..

Hi all!

Yups, dreyc, I've moved in...but it's still in a mess. Why don't we make arrangements to meet on May 8th at the dog event at BU? I would love to meet your pets!

I was doing a research and the West Highland Terrier might be suitable. Shed a little, likes to be clean and can be independable. Any thoughts to share with me?

actually, keeping dogs no matter the size in a condo or apt is against the rule. If your dog is quiet and don't cause problems (like shitting and peeing where the neighbours can smell) they usually turn a blind eye.

Just takes someone to complain and then you will get a letter from the management asking you to get rid of the dog. No matter how angelic and quiet your furkid is, maybe a neighbour feels that it's not right to have dogs in condos and lodge a complaint. You may feel it's unreasonable but rules are rules.

I know of a few friends who have to give away their furkid or move out because of this. Thought their dogs were very well behaved but then we are dog lovers...tend to be biased. Try not to live in a condo with too many malay neighbours. Not proper, in my opinion to have a dog with so many malay neighbours in a condo block. Must jaga people's feelings too.

Even though you may ask them, they don't like it but they are to nice to say so and tell you it's ok. Next thing, they complain to the management. That is why I would not consider staying at a condo. Secondly, I have 2 rottweilers...crazy to be at a condo!!

Don't we all want to live on landed property....FrownFrownUnsure I wish I could afford it Unsure

Thanks for the advise. Intend to smuggle the mutt at the fire escape and put her in the car and off we go to the park! Cross my fingers and my toes for good neighbours. So far next door neighbours are chinese and one malay neighbour at the same floor at the far end. Don't intend to meet them. Crazy

Neighbour upstairs have his Shih Tzu barking for 15min a day as well and it's ok with me Smile

Alicia,

Good then... i have another dog lover in Perdana View. Btw which block are you staying? I am staying in block B 7th floor. On the 5th floor, there is another unit which has a dog which i can see clearly. I think it is a mix shi tzu.

U can always drop by to socialise your dog.

You will be surprise that some malays love dogs rather than cats. I have some friends whom are malays love dogs. Even I don't stay in condo, my neighbour whom is a malay love my dogs. Always praise my dogs There was once a puppy.com gathering a malay family actually brought 2 big dogs with them.

hi alicia..i'm staying in d'sara perdana service apmt, on top of tropics. same as shirely. i used to brg timmy to B.U park, kota kemuning for walk. nowadays never brg him out since shifting here cos very inconvenient to take him out. i remember in the lift, everyone looked at him - their facial expression like seeing timmy as 'alien' . no idea whether they saw him cute or they hate dogs.. thats y i dont feel confortable to take him out.unless send him to groomer evry 2 mths.

so alicia u got ur doggie? u will staying perdana view it?

I am staying at Perdana View. Haven't got a dog yet as I have just shifted in end of April. That's why I posted the question in here to ask around Wink

Why don't you use the staircase? DO you use a bag to put the dog in? I strongly advise it.
