For the ways using public transport to go to SPCA in Ampang, you can refer back to this thread. It explain in great details how to get there provided by MisterStan n the rest of the people.

Re: [AACK2001] Where is Spca in Ampang? [In reply to] Can't Post

hehehe ... easiest way to go is, take putra lrt to jelatek (or u can drive). After that u can take cab to International School, SPCA is just besides that. If u still can't find, u should able to find 7 eleven shop. Ask the cashier, she/he should know. The cab is just about rm.3.50-

Take note for same points for adoption :

1. Can't apartment or Condo. Just ceras house.

2. Family only

3. Not for student (especially foreigners)

4. They will go to survey to ur house

5. Under few aggreements. For me, it's too complicated.

6. Not cert dog lar

7. Expensive ( same as buying a non-cert dog) and long procedures.

That's all i know. As i know my friend went there to adopt the dalmation dog, it costs about rm.500 (9 months). Besides that, there are many procedures have to be followed. But last time i saw in star news paper, it's just about rm.500 for dalmation puppy (which about 2 months). Better u consider it lor. And I heard from my friend the ppl there also not so friendly. Looks like not educated ppl there lar. dunno lar .. that what i heard from my friend.

Re: [ho-kia] Where is Spca in Ampang? [In reply to] Can't Post

hi there,

just a few corrections to your post so as not to mislead other ppl:

1. you can adopt a dog from spca even if you are staying in a condo or apt, but it cannot be a big or active dog that needs a bigger space for exercise.

2. Family only because preferably, the dog should not be left alone at home when the owner(s) are at work.

3. True, not for foreign students. Imagine what will happen to the dog once the owner decided to go back to his/her own country. Return back to spca?

4. Inspection at the potential home is to ensure that the compound is safe for the dog, that is, fencing is tight, grills are not wide apart which enables small dog to escape, etc.

5. Do not really understand it when u say few agreement is complicated. If u mean the adoption agreement, it is done solely for the welfare of the animal. And it is not complicated at all.

6. Is a dog cert important?

7. The adoption fee is for the neutering, vaccination, deworming and food for the dog. Is it also part donation for other dogs in spca. Imagine saving a life. Again, procedures are done solely for the welfare of the dog.

Ads in newspapers are sometimes by back yard breeders, which you do not know the dam and sire, and it does not guarantee the health of the dog, even with a cert.

Ur fren might not know the staff in spca that well to say that they are not friendly and uneducated. You heard all these from ur fren? Why not pay a visit to spca urself rather than hear what other ppl say to u?

I hope that there is no misunderstanding and that the above is clear.

Re: [ai_ney] Where is Spca in Ampang? [In reply to] Can't Post

I ask my friends, she said that, there was one old ladies(foreigner) wanted to take the dog to walk around. one chinese lady work there shout to her, " ....(her name), put ur hand bag here!!!" with strong shouting. How can they threat that old lady like that ? she should show the respect to old ppl.

Secondly, if ppl want to adopt (if a good owner), they should be happy, becasue there is some one going to take care of the dog. But the way they charge is like hell expensive. Adoption fee should low. If under rm.200 is still reasonable, but if above rm.500 ? Doesn't matter what dog is that, they should not make the prices as different breeds. You're saving dogs life, not to earn actually. But I think they more to earn money for their own pocket. If it's me, i would rather choose to buy un-cert dog. Coz it's ceaper lar. Actualy with adopting the puppy, we already help them. So why they have to charge expensive some more? some more with same aggreement? Yeak .....

Thirdly, Apartment and Condo residence can adopt small puppy? Yes they said like that. But it's mostly never happen they give the dog adopted in Apartment and Condo.

Healthy ? Not realy. Mostly the dog is sick. Does we know exactly the background of the puppy at spca? I don't think so. So what is the different with buying from others? Helping in donation?

Family only can adopt? don't give us the reason when we go to work who take care of the dog. Even family, some of the parents are working over time and the children also busy with the school. So who take care the dog in the morning ?

For the foreigner, why not ? When they go back, they can bring along the dog. Does the dog have to stay in Malaysia to become happy? not right? Or u ask to put back to spca? oh my good. adoption fee already so expensive, who wants to give back to spca?

The adoption should open to however which realy dog lover. Don't talk bullshit if spca realy want to save the dog life. It's just the medium they use to earn.

Yeah, you no need to believe in my words, some of u can go there directly and will know what is happenning.

No wonder the kampung dogs ppl dont want to adopt. They also put high price for them. rm 100? hehehe or more?

Re: [ho-kia] Where is Spca in Ampang? [In reply to] Can't Post

many things i did not even mention in my post, but u tot i did or perhaps u misread or misunderstood my words...

i wish everyone does take their dog(s) along when they leave the country or move from a house to a condo/apt... but sadly, this is not what ppl do... reality is that many would find new home for their dog(s), or surrender back to spca, or even leave them to become strays on the streets... otherwise we would not be seeing the increasing number of pure breed dogs in spca... yes, not only mixed breeds are surrendered to spca, but many healthy pure breeds face the same fate these days...

spca is a non-profit organisation with procedures to follow and be adhered to... we have the right to voice out our opinions, but we have no right to accuse them without any or proper proof...

having said that, i am happy that many people do not think like you as many are still going to spca week after week to adopt a new friend into their home... this is what is important... people who care enough to save a life...

That are ppl never been spca before ... if they do, they will know the truth.

However, we no need to argue much, and i believe u're not the owner of the spca. And i believe ppl can see by their own.

I'm not misunderstanding with ur words, however, it's just the opinion from ppl who had been spca. U may say spca is the best, but in other hand? Not all ppl say so.

hahaha .... I think u consider it as arguing .... from what u posted i can mark it. However, no need to discuss it. Good or not about spca, ppl will know. So why we're so busy?

End story .... eyes use to see ... from seeing we will know what is the truth. Truth about every things.
