coccidia problem Can't Post

Hello,

My 10 week old pug, Timothy, was just diagnosed with Coccidia. He is being treated with Albon and aside from his diarrhea, he is very happy and healthy.

The problem I am having with him, is that when he is alone and has an accident, he eats his stools.Tongue

Is Timothy re-infecting himself by doing this? How can I prevent him from eating his stools if I am not there to correct his behavior.

Thanks, Beth

Hi deepset30,

Welcome to the forum. There is a thread on dog eat their poo and you may want to read.

As for Coccidia, the medication given will control the reproduction of coccidia parasites and the immune system of your pug should catch up soon and eradicate them. The newly introduced coccidia organism should also be eradicated in no time when the immune system is in control.
