You can actually purchase Synoquin directly from the manufacturer in U.K. (www.synoquin.com) at 62 pounds for a bottle of Synoquin Loading (120capsules). At today's exchange rate of 7.4, it will be equivalent to RM458.80 ! I am sure you can get from any vet in Malaysia at a price that is much lower than that. Therefore, the vets in Malaysia are actually selling the product at rock bottom prices. Furthermore, this is one of two products available in Malaysia that guarantees the purity and high concentration of the important active ingredients. Therefore, in terms of dosaging, you don't have to give as many capsule/tablet per day as compared to other products. Moreover, this is a combination product ie. Glucosamine HCl, Chondroitin Sulphate and N-Acetyl-D-Glucosamine which act better as compared to other single ingredient products. Personally, I am using it on my 12 years old dog and I am finding tremendous improvement on its mobility. These are some info which I obtained from my vet. Cheerio !

Don't mention it. I have personally done a bit of research into using these types of supplements for hip dysplasia and osteoarthritic cases in dogs. Most important is that we have to read the labels ie. active ingredients, concentration, indication and dosaging. If you were to do this type of comparison, you will be able to determine for yourself which is the best product for your dog. The ultimate is to check the cost per day for a dog of certain bodyweight to get certain active ingredients proven to work for certain condition. A bit long winded. Sorry. But I am sure when you purchase something for yourself or your loved ones, you will look at the label as well. Therefore, don't just base it on price factor alone. All the best !

Hi, don't think I can give you the name of clinic here. The clinic is at Wisma Dicor, the shop lots towards Jalan Tujuan direction. It is somewhat opposite from that Subang govenment building connecting to Fitness First.

You need not go there now as they do not have stock. Suggest that you take you dog to a vet, I am sure they have other suitable alternatives.

Re: [anna_kys] Price of synoquin? [In reply to] Can't Post

Hi there. I already bought the synoquin for puppies for my doggie. But when I went for my doggie's OB class, the trainer said that Caesar's hind legs looks a little stiff and might be a symptom of HD. So, should I change it to the Reload version? or should I follow the puppy version of Synoquin. Now I very worried that this will persist.

When I look at his gait, his waist tend to swing left & right.(Birds eye view). Does this means that he is overweight? Understand soemwhere in the forum that dogs should have hour glass shape. Would like to know this shape is on bird's eye view or side view.

Any ideas guy & gals?

hi, saw ur recommendation on Syn-flex for HD. hv u experienced significant changes in ur dog? my lab retriever has been on synoquin for the past 3 years & i really dont see much improvement. i've heard of stories where pets are able to run & play catch after consumption but my girl cant do much physical activities (well it doesnt help that she is lazy;-p). am thinking of switching brands. read abt syn-flex on the net but not too sure of its effectiveness. let me know, tnx.

Re: [kasthuri] Price of synoquin? [In reply to] Can't Post

Hi Kasthuri...

Just a wanna share u my experience after using Flexicose http://www.flexicose.com/ for my Rossi a golden retriever..

When i got him since young, he has been showing very obvious limping on his hind legs.. and especially when he woke up from his sleep or down position, he will limp all the way.. my fear start thinking he might get HD and at that time, i started to do research myself through internet what best for Rossi.. and got Rossi on xray and found that he does have a minor .. very minor loose socket on his hip and vet told me that he have the sign of HD.. and advise me to give him Glucosamine (Synoquin)..

I didn't straight away bought Synoquin to him.. mainly because, i know my Rossi never like pills.. and i have a hard time to feed him pills even with the push to throat method.. Then i found Flexicose which is in liquid form.. good!.. easy just mix with food.. and is good for absorption too..

After Rossi took it for more than 2 months now.. i never see him limping since.. eventho, i can see his leg is still week.. but at least to maintain his good limp for as long as it could be.. he can jump, and run as he likes now.. but i still control him.. i do not want him to hurt himself..

At current, we can't find Flexicose in Malaysia, I ordered it through their website.. i think it's very reasonable in term of price.. and i only need to feed Rossi 1/4 of small table teaspoon every day as is already suffice!.. and after conversion is only cost approx RM100 and can last for more than 3-4 months.. and the contains of Glucosamine is 1500mg.. much higher..

U can check out the website.. to know more about it.. Flexicose actually very similar with Synflex.. oh yes, and u can compare them with Synoquin n Synflex too..

Hope the above help..

Hi Kien
Thanks 4 ur reply. The price is actually much cheaper than Synoquin. I hv also read that the liquid form is better absorbed compared to pills/capsules. Will go to the website to check this out.

Saw ur blog - your goldies are absolutely gorgeous!!! & its great that you hv decided to keep Hercules - cant imagine how anyone would want to give up such a gorgeous thing. Do they shed a lot? My Jazzie sheds ALL YEAR LONG!!! Hv tried so many things but none seems to work. So i guess this is sthing that i hv to live with...sigh....just lots of vacuuming to do.

Ta!!

Hi Kien. Thanks for the quick reply and info. Got my dog a mat for the tiled floor so it's easier on his hips but the crazy fella's chewed it to bits. So the flexicose had better work. Thanks again.

Hope if u dun mind if i ask you.. did your golden show any sign of limping.. and hard to get up from sleep or down position? Have the doctor checked him thoroughly? X-ray?..

Is good that if you let your golden to walk on a non-slip floor.. and don't over exercise your dog too.. a moderate exercise... like a walk.. or ball fetching.. will be just great.
But ur golden is so cute to chew on the mat.. hahaha..but make sure u caught him in action and straight away said NO in a very stern loud voice.. have to start teaching him which stuff that they are not suppose to bite!.. Hope he won't bite it again..

Nope, no obvious limping but he does seem to have difficulty getting up from the floor and he flinches when i pat him on his back legs. aiyah, he very poor thing lor. doesn't eat very much, very small and skinny for a 7-mth old retriever and he's just had a major allergic reaction to dunno what ... but vet says not to worry abt him not eating cuz his weight's ok and it will be good for his hind legs.FrownFrown

For those interested, it's RM305 per bottle.

If anyone else can get it for a cheaper price, I'd appreciate if you let me know.

Thanks in advance
