Hi ...
Dogs are like people in that they are afraid of what they are not used to ...
A pup/dog brought up in a Chinese family, without socialisation with people of a different skin tone will often bark at other races ... Same same with dog brought up in an Indian family ...
The best way is for you to get your Indian or eurasian friends to handle & play with the dog.

so, do u hav any idea on how to teach him be more friendly to malays & indians
Please read the post above ... "The best way is for you to get your Indian or eurasian friends to handle & play with the dog."
Introduce your pup to more people of different races ... let your friends of all races play with him & give him treats ... This is called socialisation ... the more you socialise your dog ... the better behaved your dog will be ...

hi prawn,
actually it's not like ur dog can differentiate between which skin color of the malays, indians, chinese or eurasian. (dog's see things in grayish color) I think it's the smell that comes off thier body, I am totally NOT being racist or anything, I dun mean smell as in Body Odor or anything but scientifically it's the kind of chemical smell that the body transmit due to the food we eat. My dog has the same problem when he was a puppy and so the vet told me about it. Socializing your dog is correct but do it cautiously because if it smells that the person (malay or indian) have a different type of smell from a chinese, it may think the person may pose some kind of threat to you and your family that's why it's acting protective. What you can do is just slowly let him play with the malays and indians and always be present and assure your dog that the person mean no harm to you. P/S: I would not encourage you to encourage ur dog that it's ok to eat treats off hands of strangers, this is for ur dog's safety because many sick and cruel people are out there (that includes all races) that may poison your dog if your dog is taught that it's ok to eat the food from strangers.
