well, talking about the coat. i was watching a show about afgan hound and it shows that during the early stage their fur were not that long and after all the selective breeding, they look like what we can see today. but there was a part that really get my attention. according to one of the breeder, she said that she always comb the dogs' coat after the bath especially when it is wripping wet for 10 - 15 minutes. and this will induce the growth of the coat and her afgan coat is much longer. i try that on my cocker and it seems like it "works"? i'm not sure as dog's coat will also grow longer too as they get older. they do look great and beautiful most when they are 3-4 years old. 1-2 yo is just like teenage and when it comes to 3-4 years old, they are all mature and all their character shows the best condition.

Hey,

Jewel turns 1 year old on 20 March and Eden is 10moths old. I'm still waiting for my friend with his digital camera to take pictures for me. He's also a member here. I think he signs in as Khang - the one with the Min Schnauzer called Coco. I hope you try out the tape thingy and tell me if it works. Then we'll know for sure that it works and Jewels case was not just a fluke. Oh by the way you can start teaching you kid to sit, stay and stuff now. Silkies are very smark and quik to learnSly Eden taught himself to fetch. I just attached the word to his actions. So you can do the samr with you furkid when he brings his toy to you.Sly Jewel just runs off with the toy regardless of what I say. So I have to fetch it myself - see how smart silkies are - trained me to fetch! Wuf

hello, just wanna share something with u. my bibi teeth is easily loosen when bite on hard things. Currently one of the teeth has just loosen out, should i unplugged the teeth or just ignore it. is this the symptons of lack of calcium? do ur jaz face this kind of problem?

hello drew, i just bought mou mou(miniature schnauzer) 5 days ago in pets expo. Within this 5 days, i found out that she seldom bark, she only bark when my bibi disturb her,and her eye discharge is alotUnsure. When she eat the dog food that time, she just look like a dog that hunger for five day, will finish her meal less than one minute. Do ur schnauzer have this kind of symptoms? Another question is do your schnauzer always fighting with ur silky? my bibi and mou mou always fighting when i let them out from the cageCrazyCrazy, but if they inside the cage, they just look like best friends. why harrr?

first of all, congrats on your new doggie!!!

wow... your silky seems bigger than your MS !!! hrmmm ... that is rare ... my silky's smaler then my MS ... anyways, can't judge by looking at pictures ...

let's get to the point... from what i know that MS tends to eat a lot ... they dont' control themselves at all ... they eat whatever there is for them ... so you gotta keep control on the food amount you giving her... or else ... your MS would be like my male MS ... gets bigger than the standard size of a MS ... Frown

my MS and silky seldom fights ... but they do have fights before .. like serious FIGHTS that after we seperated them and carrying them on out hands ... they still want to fight ... they only fight when my silky wanna be the first and my silky would attack anyone who's in front of her ... so, all the fights that occured are always my silky involved in ... Pirate

they both fight all the time??? what do you mean by fight ??? cause they might be playing roughly with each other and not fight but in our eyes it might be fighting ... i only say that my silky and ms fights when they will growl and bark and really bite on each other ... my 2 MS plays real rough that they bite each other and also growling but you can judge it by the volume .. from my experience ... whe my silky and MS fight .. you can lsiten their growling and barking from up stairs !!!

anyways, hope my little knowledge can help you ~! =) if you wanna know more about schnauzers, you can always ask Arthur the MS expert! =)

hello, thanks for your help. This knowledge can help me alotWinkWinkWink. Actually my silky size very small, the ms right now just 3 month 2 weeks old and my silky are going to be 6 month old. Their weight just difference one kilo, maybe my silky hair too much, thats why u will say silky much more bigger than MS.

My ms likes to growling at me especially when i prepare the food for them, how to stop this bad habit. From what i know is they are really fighting, because both of them is growling rather than barking.PiratePirate Same things happen like yours, my silky also wanna be the first but my MS dun want to be her slave, thats why they always fight, this 2 monkey really make me headache.Unsure

One more thing, u know my silky, evertime when i call her name, she won come to me unless my hand carrying some food. I knew that she know i'm calling her, but she just dun want to come. My friends also facing this problems, until she gave up and give her silky to another person. Is it this is the silky characteristic or ...? pls advice.

growl at u when u feed??? hmmmmm .... u can stop it by tellin her NO in loud voice and if she still does it, don't feed her for like few minutes but feed the silky first ... i think it might work ... try to say NO loud to ensure they kow that you are the boss there and not them !!! Tongue

u actually got yourself a good terrier ... as previously i posted a thread in the training section and Ajasage actually explained everything to me there ... why not you go there and have a look and might have soem ideas how to stop this behaviour ...

silky's are stubborn as what i get from a lot of members who owns a silky ... they are stubborn .. my silky also know that we are calling her but soemtimes she jsut don't wanna come ... but when i yell at her loudly with her name .. she'll come slowly and very afraid that i might spank her or something .. so cute ~! be more patient since your silky is only like 6 months old .. try to train her or maybe take her to obedience classes .. me taking my silky to obedience classes soon ... like on june or july .. come together ~! so i own't be lonely with my own silky ... Tongue

i like your silky a lot ... totally GOLD right?? so nice ~!

hello. read from what u state, heheheheSlySlySly, can imagine ur silky very cute when u yell at her. I yell at my silky, she will run and hide somewhere because she thought that maybe she do something wrong. oh yah, how u register to obedience class? Must be a MKA member? i'm oso plannig to send her for obedience class somewhere in June. Hope can see ur silky there, maybe they can socialised each other. SlySlySly

hahahhaa, that's my peke ... you yell at ehr she quickly run away and hide ... hahahhahaaa ... you put your silky and ms in the house together, eh? do they play with each other ? obedience classes, i think you don't need to be a MKA memeber in order to take them for training ... but it's gonna cost extra RM20 or 30 for non mebers...... if not mistaken ...

your silky really looks quite big ... i don't know why .. maybe it's because of it's a pic .. as pictures can be deceiving !!~! Tongue but she really do look big !!!! Frown
