Obedience Training Can't Post

Hi,

I plan to bring my doggie for the obedience training. However, the vets advise me that not good to bring the doggie for public obedience training as lots of doggie get skin problem after mix with other doggie during the training. Is it true?

My doggie only complete the 2nd jab vaccination. The next one will be one month from now. Is it OK to bring her to attend the training? She is 12 weeks old now.

I wish i can train her to follow my instruction as soon as possible.

Regards,

CV

Re: [cvlew] Obedience Training [In reply to] Can't Post

Hi cvlew,

There is a lot of dogs n puppies that is going for the Ob training and the only thing which most of us is worried about is ticks rather than skin problem. Most of skin problem comes more from genetics than it is from mixing around with other doggies.

Dogs which is being socialise is generally friendlier and more approachable with a more confident attitude compare to those that is not. The training is done by U to the dog not the trainer train the dog for you. So the main person who will be touching the dog will be the owner.

FYI, I'm going in the 1st batch of training so any questions that u need to ask.... do and we'll answer to your concern ya.

BTW, the next class starts at Dec 5th. if your dog has been fully vaccinated by then it should not be a problem to take ur dog for the training.

cheers,

Re: [cvlew] Obedience Training [In reply to] Can't Post

you are the one with the lab right? normally it was advised to bring dogs only that has completed 3 full shots. OB training is very good for the puppy to mix around but if u want to teach her now also can.

u can teach her sit, stay, come first lor. work on it, so when u go to OB, then just perfect the skill.

i haven't put my doggie on OB training but i train her myself at home. she is 16 weeks and we have trained her to sit, stay, come, leave it, wait, some tricks, lie down, roll over, fetch, no, off (no jump), and starting on weave and play dead. we do want to send her to OB but no transportation yet so have to make the effort lor.

labs are pretty easy to train too like GRs. good luck!
