Re: [rayttp] Manchester Terrier [In reply to] Can't Post

Hi Ray,

Sorry but i dont have a MT but i do have a silky terrier.

Old prints show that a great many of the old terriers of different types were black and tan. As far back as 1570, Dr Caius was able to describe a Black and tan Terrier breed, though lower to the ground and rougher-coated than this moderncounterpart. The manchester terrier was developed for sport by the working people or Lanchashire-people who did not follow the sports which required a great deal of money, but who looked to a day's ratting or rabbitting with their terriers for recreation. As well as all the instincts of other working terriers, the breed then needed a dash of speed which it might otherwise have lacked. Today the MT stills make an ideal house dog, being clean, and a good guard dog.

well so far there isnt much MT owners here cs the breed here is hydro rare. No one can find this breed in M'sia. Here is the picture for the manchester terrier. Their faces are like Dobermann as you can see but they are shorter together with their ears. A really good quality breed but a rare breed in M'sia. What makes this breed so popular in U.S is that the breed is good at taking care of his family and home.
