Shih Tzu owners, pls be awared of this !!!!!	Can't Post

Yesterday evening, I received a call from a customer. He was panic as his 6 months old shih tzu fainted suddenly between meal...... I realised that the pup got choke and is short of oxygen, immediately advice him what to do but he was too panic to get my massage. He drove straight to my shop, which is a short distance but unfortunately the pups was already dead upon arrived. I cleared the trout, which is full of dog biscuit and hit the heart..... but it was just too late.

This is the third case I came accross on this problem. The first one, I was only informed by the customer after the dog died. Second one was my own shih tzu, she ate too fast and suddenly gave out a cry, the whole body frosted and her eyes was turning blue and she was shaking in shock, I was there, so immediately I put my fingers into her mouth, korek what ever is blocking the way and hit her back hard while my fingers was still in her month supporting a hole for air to go though, gave some push on her heart as well.
During this, you may kena bite but to save your love one, I'm sure you don't mind.

Remember, stay calm, act fast and you can save your pet's life.

Hi Mey Lim SM,

Oh MY GOD........feel sad for that Shih Tzu. Ya, coz, usually, Shih Tzu likes to eat their food very fast. That is why, i used to feed my pups 2 times per meal. Coz, my pups last time been vomitted before, especially after dinner time. Thanks for your information for sharing these with us. SO, how is your Shis Tzu?! Is he/she alright?!

Hi,

Thanks for the info. Mine usually choke on his on bulu n it always worries me. What I did was gave him a hard pat on the back n try to get him to drink some water. Check w the vet n he taught the same thing u did, put ur finger in its mouth n make it vomit. Thanks again; will bare that in mind. Whenever my godson is eating, I'll will always tell him to eat slowly n chew his food. Smile

Opps !!! I forgot to mentioned that my shih tzu does live..... like I mentioned, luckily I was there when this happened. Her name is Joy Joy, after the incident, her charactor changed for a few days. immediately upon recovery, she was running in shock, won't even let me go near. After that she liked to hide under the cabinet or somewhere dark. I had to pull her out and placed her on my lap to pat her. Slowly she became the old Joy Joy again.

Hi,

Thanks for your advice.Me myself owned a shih tzu and i never thought of those accidents if not u tell us. I will start feeding my shih tzu will 2 times a day and u really lucky coz u are beside ur shih tzu when she get choke. Take care!

If you are affaid of the bulu your dog taken, just let them out in the garden, if they have perut discomfort, they will eat some grass ( they will know one lah ! ) and then vomit out the grass and the bulu..... or else got product for this type of bulu vomitting one woh.... it's a tube of gel like thing, for the fur ball, for both cats and dogs.

Wah... this is really eye opening for me..... so far, my Willy has never made any choking actions.... maybe coz I never feed kibbles.... hhmmm..... anyway, it is best if all dog owners know the choking manuever for dogs.... place both hands under belly near the end of the ribcage and give an inward trust while lifting the hind quarters of the dog.... do a few times and the object or food will pop out.... or like what you said, swipe in the mouth to korek whatever is inside lah......

If the dog is not breathing anymore, do CPR on the dog... 10 cardiac pumps on the ribcage from the side and 2 blows down the nose to fill the lungs with air, do a few cycles and the dog will start breating.... if the dog has a pulse but no breathing, should blow into the nose and mouth many times untill it is breathing..... sounds disgusting but can save a dog's life wor......

same experience here.. Frown

... my dog gave birth to puppies... one morning (when they were roughly 9 weeks old) i gave them breakfast and carried on w/ my work. abt 2 hours later, i found 1 of it lying motionless.. Unimpressed

... i rushed him to the vet.. she said no more breathing but still got faint heartbeat.. Unsure

but a while later he was gone.. vet says he eats too fast, too much stuck in the throat..and he choked..

waaaaaaaaa. very scary ar! thankfully bb always eat his kibbles real slow. me take two days on an average to refill the bowl cos he would eat anything BUT the kibbles unless he is starving.

soft snacks cannot choke right? i dun want anything to happen to my precious little furball la... me will cry

thanks for informing us about the possible problem. let's hope it never ever EVER happens to my precious BB. i am totally obsessed about my 9mths old puppy to the brink of it being unhealthy and should (touchwood! choy choy choy!) anything happen to him, i think me kill myself liao!

despite his horrible diet (he thinks kibbles are "unless i m starving" food! Pirate

), i give him loads of denta-bone things to clean his teeth cos me not gonna brush them.

willy also eat slow slow one rite? you told me once. BB and Willy very chum-chum cos both dun like kibbles and eat damn slow... good for digestion lor. maybe BB eat slow cos he learnt from me. eat halfway, do something else before continue eating. hahahahaha! and i m human some more. pai seh!

Hahaha... good lah.. Willy doesn't like Denta bones... after chew half ah, he don't want liow coz his teeth a bit pain... old mah....

Yah loh.... eat damn slow wan if kibbles... but if I give Willy nice smelling food like canned food or pork from soup ah, he will eat like piggy loh.... but still polite lah, he will go to carpet to wipe his mouth wan hahahahaha.....

i m very amused by what happened lor, so no need feel bad. i brought it to myself anyway... me always find things like that hilarious. i memang like cartoon character only. the bump from the time i bang into glass mirror also not yet finish subside, i add a few more on me... hahahahahaha! my life memang drama one, so i'm not bothered much lah...

Ah? You amused? Well.... I sometimes feel that way when I get bitten by one of my pets or other animals... me ah, cat lah, fish lah, duck lah, rat(not mine), parrot, hamsters, dogs... plenty of dog bites for me.... Luckily the doctor I know not there.. if not, he sure cerita panjang to you about my bites and scars hahahah..... So you're not the only one got drama in your life ah, me too!

Hahaha... you can always still marry Henry mah heehheeh.... aiyoh, marry Stanley? Later I bully him everyday and my Willy merajuk loh...... You see, Willy is something like an over protective husband.. my mom says this lah, she say Willy always jealous wan when see other dogs with me and if got guys do some stuff to me ah, he will gigit wan hahahaha.....

bb is very active when it's playtime with me, but i dunno why he not like that when with other puppies... Pirate

the last time he had a merry time chasing girls (hahahahahahaha!) was at the vet and at rose's place. but he always climb on the girl puppies and make them frightened. dunno why he is scared of snowy. maybe because she barks. bb is a bit scared of loud loud noises. and he's not used to hearing barks also... hahahahaahahahah. my house no one barks mah. hahahahaahahahah!

yeah lah, u forgot to wear skirt the other day, if not, u might attract some pervs into your non-girlish life. hahahahahahahaha! told u to get "proper dressing". pink paris lace would do the trick! hahahahahaahhahaah!
