swollen under tail Can't Post

My 13 year old collie cross has been licking under his tail for a few days now. I had a look and it appears that there is a small lump 1/2 an inch above his anus. Is this something I should be worried about?

I don't think it is his anal glands as they should be on either side of the anus, not quite a bit above it. Is this correct? Any advice is appreciated.

Thanks,

Wolfie

No, I haven't taken him to the vet as I don't think it is serious enough to warrant the trip. It just looks as if he has an irritation under the base of his tail and I was wondering if anyone would know what it could be.

He isn't do any damage to his skin, it just seems to bother him from time to time. Any ideas about what could be bothering him are greatly appreciated.

Thanks,

Wolfie
