URGENT!! KITTEN FOR ADOPTION

I found a kitten outside my house and one of them has died. I placed at my neighbor house first because my dog Fifi will bite it. The kitten is very weak and pitifull Frown. Don't know who left them there and dont know where is the mummy. The kitten has black fur and blue eyes. Do ask around if anyone wants to adopt.

Looks more like a talk on various topics and therefore I think those who are going there to attend the talk should go without their furkids.

I went to UPM for the event and found it to be informative. The networking was good as we are facing a crisis at PAWS now.

There are groups of people doing their own thing. If only we collectively address this issue and focus on a tried and tested solution, to spay and neuter and promote community care. There is little need for euthansia except when an animal is dangerous, sick or dying. Life of the animals here in Malaysia (especially strays and unwanted animals) reflects very badly on us Malaysians.

I honestly think we can do more.

Re: [ALL] International Homeless Animal Day 2004 [In reply to] Can't Post

Hi fiona n everyone,

Sorry for the loooong "awaited" silence. I've been really really busy with everything. But i'm finally took some time off to write something important and unimportant stuffs on puppy.com.my..right starting with the important stuff.

Cynhor ( if u're from the PAWS).. you're absolutely right about over-increasing numbers of strays we have in Malaysia. The ONLY thing that can HONESTLY stop this from happening is to have people coming INTO shelters to ADOPT an animal instead of being so gullible BUYING it from a petshop and not knowing about puppymills. i've said this many many times n i will not stop stressing about it that if u really love and care for animals the first thing u'll think of before getting an animals is that u have a visit to the shelter and adopt one. There are so many cases of abandoned animals in spca ( and paws of course!) where they're no longer desired by their owners because of the extra responsiblity that they have to care for. Dog owners like us who knows what's going on in homeless animals world should advice first timers on visiting the a.shelters. For those who have preference i have nothing against you as i do have a few pref as well but all i can say is that, if u're a first timer for god's and animals' sake please look into the infos on that certain breed that u're interested in getting before BUYING so that u'd know what to expect . and for those who have experience and such, i'm such you know what to do. If u're not a prof breeder please send them for SPAYING/NEUTERING. You can't be 100% sure that your dog won't get pregnant or won't mate a bitch. Anything can happen and so what if it's a purebreed or if it's not? If u' have no intentions or experience in breeding dogs then why not spend a few hundreds on the operation..especially if u can afford to pay thousands on a purebreed?

I've said enough and in hoping that i've changed some of your minds. x

hi fiona,
yes i have to agree that being a volunteer isnt an easy task but it takes time and patience to get used to it. But in the end i'm overall satisfied because i get all the wanted attention from the animals there!

I am pretty much use to it and know what to expect but yet still cannot agree with the killing of unwanted/overpopulated animals... They have no right to say they want to be alive... Fion

Well, you would then have tosee it from their point of view. Over populartion at the shelter isn't their fault too, it's mankind's fault esp owners who'd not sent their pets for spaying/neutering operation. Vets have never ever once felt at ease putting animals down-NEVER . I can be sure of that because those vets at the spca are my friends and i've seen them put animals down before. They never wanted the position to play "god"'s role anyway. So you' have to understand that it's not something that they wish to do all the time.

Oh no no I don't mean the vet or what.. I met friends at the shelther and everytime they have to do it, they cry.. No no definately not they I meant.. The management and stuff.. I mean can't they just put the ones who is really sick and old down but not the puppies and all... And again... without those owner, these dogs do not have to be put down... Fion
