Hi Guys,

G'day, just went over to MKA and would like to bring these for opinion,

1.) Judges - To me I always have the impression that for AKU's show we normally invite Japanese Judges and this round we have one AUST Judge and One Japanese Judge???

2.) Number of entries - Felt very very disapointed when I saw the number of entry is so so few..... Where are the foreign dog? Is there any? bare in mind this a AKU's show not MKA's and the winner of BOB is crown with the title ASIA CHAMP....... So....

Hmmmmmmmm.......

Hi KL,

Previously my wife also joining the dog show, the purpose of entering the dog show is to socilize and have fun with our doggy in the show ring, not for the winning purposes and show support to the local kennel club. But due to the dog show poorly participated all the time and also poorly organised + heard a lot of unfairnesss things happen around, now my wife also lost interest to join such dog show, better stay at home, furthermore join the dog show still need to pay money + expensive.

Thanks.

What ChooKS said is true because of some disappointment we have with MKA really effect they way a lot of people looking at MKA. Although this time the show is not organize by MKA but people still feel that is organize by them. This might be the last show I will be attending. Lets hope in the future things will get better and clean up the tarnish image of MKA. Until then will wait and hope for the best.

Thanks. Hi Choo, It is sad to hear that a dog lover like yourself and your wife had lost interest in participating local dog show due to several reasons. It is true that participating in a local dog show or any event organised by any organisation is top socialised and not so much of winning. However, as a dog lover myself, and put away the hear say unfair story aside, I would like to see all these local dog shows to be more organise and have greater publicity. To be frank, how many KL and PJ resident know that there is a dog show coming on Sunday. I don't think there are many! In my opinion, a dog show should serve the following purposes, namely, 1.) To create a better, harmony and more socialise dogs and dog lovers society; 2.) To enourage more participants to participate in the show or turn -up as viewers; 3.) To improve the quality of local bred dog; 4.) To educate the general public what is predigree all about, Why I should pay few hundred extra for a certificate from MKA; 5.) To introduce and explain the role and function of MKA and benefits being a MKA's member; 6.) To lure more new and potential dog lovers be part of MKA; and more........ Therefore, a dog show is not just a dog show but if it was done and organise in more propoer manner and plan, I believe there are more to gain by both MKA and its member.. To be frank, I am sick and tire of seeing the same people or dog kept on winning........ As you mentioned, what is the point or it is waste of time for your wife to take part!!!!!! KL

To be frank, I've read complaints about the organisers, associations, bias judges, cheats etc. in other overseas forums as well. I don't think these complaints are perculiar to MKA only. They call names like "face judge"; results being fixed; owners going to visit the judges (in another country) b/4 the show; owners buying treats, lunch dinners etc for the judges, exhibitors paying ppl to enter its competitors house to cut down the coat of their winning dogs and the lists go on and on and on. It is human nature that "nobody plays to loose", right? So you hear all these complaints around the world.

But one exhibitor said it well "I showed my dogs b'coz I think my dogs are of the correct specimen (standard) and not b'coz I wanna win. If I win, BOB then I've already achieve what I'm here for."...or something to that effect. So don't give up showing if you think your dog is good as you are representing the breed standard.

Well from the other forum, it was posted that there are about 250++ dogs in AKU show. I believe that during your showing days (b/4 the dogs started to deplete) the dogs in show is more than 300 dogs, right? Very interesting to hv more than 300 dogs in show.

I'm not sure about the fees charged by organisers in show for entering a dog in overseas but I understand it is not free either. I know that some of the shows are outdoor, thus, it could lessen their costs and provide a cheaper entering fees.

This is Justine of mystyk and I've posted (& deleted) my opinion which the administrator view tt it is out of topic. Fine with me if you could explain tt it is a sensitive issue and never to post such issue again. But do you need to bar me from the forum.
