Hi: My husband and I are new in Malaysia but hope to be here for some years. I showed and bred Boxers and French Bulldogs in the US for over 20 years and am still very interested in all things doggy...We presently have one Frenchie bitch with us. All of our others have gone to their greater reward and I have not shown now for several years. I also judged and taiught conformation handling classes for years. I was lucky enough to have several quite nice home bred dogs and bitches who finished their championship. I am enjoying this forum and hello to everyone out th4ere.
When I go to Heaven, if there are no dogs and horses there, then I want to go where they go!
Welcome to the forum. We do hope that you find Malaysia a nice place to stay. We have several members here who are actively showing their dogs and wish that we all can meet you one day to learn some show handling tips from you.
We are living in Gita Bayu - Sredang, Seri Kembangan area. A very nice area and we really like it. I am hoping to get to the next dog show in KL but have no idea when or where or any of the judging details.l Would lovge to see how you guys do it!

Is there an active kennel club here? I have heard of the Malaysian Kennel Association, but have no idea if it is like our clubs at home. Are there regular meetings with members, etc? Do members here get together with clinics and classes etc.?

Welcome aboard to u and your hubby, its an honour to have such experience doggy people in the forum. I sure we'll have a lot to learn from you. I like both your breed very much but at the moment I only have Boston Terriers and Cavalier KC Spaniel. At one time I was actually looking for a Frenchie but somehow the Bossies took over. Anyway they are quite similar. I also show my dogs regularly. I hope you could join us in one of our gatherings so we learn and share. Our next gathering is on 25 Jan. Pls look up the thread on this for more infor. Look forward to meeting you. Derrick
We will be having our next doggie gathering at Kota Kemuning on Jan 25, 2003. If you are free, we welcome you to join us. View information at this THREAD

How are ya doing?I am new to this forum too...I live in the US...I have a golden retriever with me here and another two dogs in Malaysia..a lab and a rott....I am planning to get a bichon frise..however,I've been having problem locating the right breeder..my bf spoke with one of the breeders recommended by a friend, and the breeder was kind enough to let us have a look at his litters....this coming 22nd....the problem is he won't sell his dogs unless we are willing and promise to show the dog after we have bought him..he told my bf that the dog's from really good breed...champion breed...I think he told him about westminster show and his bichon was the winner....Our initial plan was to get a pet bichon but since he's kind enough to let us see his litters,I am really looking forward to that...
we would love to have a breed that good but we are still contemplating whether or not to get one from him...of course the decision does not lie with us only...he still has to make sure that we are the compatible one...I would love some advice...issit difficult to nurture a show dog?I do not wish to disappoint any party...any advice to offer?anyone with show dog experience?
