Re: 2 months old beagle (male) Can't Post

I have bought a beagle from a pet shop yesterday.. Then i brought it home. I try to train the pup with cane. It is recommended to train the pup with cane. It is pooing and peeing everyone if it is outside the cage.

Is there any effective ways to train the beagle to poo and pee at the correct location??

Please teach me or advise me... THanks!!!

Trying to train a dog with a cane is the worst thing you can do ...

If you hit your dog, why should your dog learn to respect you? ... As far as I know, when threatened with physical violence, the only reaction you are going to get is either (a) submission out of FEAR ... or (b) retaliation out of FEAR ... In both cases, your dog will not respect you ... is that what you wish? ...

A dog is supposed to pee and poop OUTSIDE it's crate ... just as you would not like to eliminate in your bed, neither does the dog ...

Suggest you check the threads for proper ways of house training a dog ... much discussed and plenty of information already available ... Also think about getting a good dog training book ...

Cheers

Re: [All] 2 months old beagle (male) [In reply to] Can't Post

after thinking for a long time, i have decided to train him to pee/poo in crate. need to ask readers opinion would that be the best method? I do not have a garden with a soil/grass, only garden with pots. Toilet training is difficult because the toilet is busy most of the time. Any other methods available? using newspaper i not sure because still bite newspaper eventhough i scold him. Frown

Please post some suggestions here. thanks.

Hi Mister Stan,
My opinion on pooing & peeing....well,it's easy for you if you Henry were to pee & poo in the crate, but forh im,it waill be uncomfortable and uneasy,he will usually "tahan " untill tak boleh tahan then only poo & pee, to his health is not ok.
Just imagine if you yourself are lock up in the room, you have to do the business at the place where u eat & sleep .it that comfortable ?
Moreover, dog is still a dog no matter how much you educate them and talk to them, they need to go out to "read newspaper" (when they sniff sniff on the floor),they need to maek some territory..they need to release tension and stress.

FYI info...blind guidiance dog are very well train and they don't simply poo & pee and they tahan untill they are command to release, but thier life span are not long.that is very sad part !
Hope you know what I mean..if you really loves your Henry, bring him out at least once a day...usually they need to go out once in the morning & once in the everning lah..Sly

not cruel leh. because henry if let out in the house, he sure turn the house upside down. if he is matured enough, would not want to cage him so much leh.Frown

i do not rotan him when he is naughty. it depends how naughty he is. normally just send him to cage for detention.
