I just recently bought a border collie puppy. I have no experience in this type of dog. I hope anyone who had border collie can share any experience..... Cool

Glad for you to have a Border Collie, kitconnie78. I wish I had oneUnsure, I will sometime later...

BCs sure do need loads of regular excises, or anything to keep them busyWink. Cause, if you don't give them something to do, they'll find something to keep themselves busy, usually something you won't be happy aboutFrown.

So, how's your Border Collie doing? Did you get it from a breeder? I wonder which one, cause I'm interested. Anyone else know which is the best place to get a BC? Definitely, NOT from a pet shop...

I bought the dog from a pet shop in Damansara. So far the dog is doing fine. She is growing big now.

A person in my neighbourhood has a BC. Sad thing though. The dog doesn't get any exercise or play. Can you imagine how high-strung the poor dog is?Unsure

Border collie need a lot of excercise or else the leg will become weak and later will have a lot of problem. Is also not healthy to keep the dog in one place and didn't let it run.

I guess some owners don't even know what the dog actually need. So they just keep it and feed it that's all.

I don't have the number of the pet shop but the name of the petshop is PETZONE. The location is Damansara Uptown opposite of McDonald. Normally they will have a border collie once in 3 months or so. I guess they might be having one now since I bought mine around 3 months back.

Normally a border collie cost around RM 2800. Depend on the markings on the dogs. Good markings border collie is more expensive. If you just want to keep as pet dog then that doesn't matter. The colour of the eyes are also different. Some are normal colour and some are blue.

hi! notice that you have a pug name Gobi....bring Gobi to gathering. would love to meet him. anyway, this is about my mongrel who looks very much like a border collie. i think she behaves like one too. she loves to jump real high and is very active. hope to hear from you about your magic.

because Gobi is a pug just like Pingpong. Milka hasnt friends of her own so she has to learn to socialise with the pugs. She is still anti social be it humans or dogs. was wondering if there is any border collie gathering.

Gobi and my border collie like to fight a lot. So far there are not many border collie around. I doubt there will be one such gathering. There are only 17 registered border collie with MKA last year.

I bought her from a kennel in Cheras. I really like her lively personality. Very different from my previous rough collie, min pinscher and bichon who have passed on.

I have bargained for a very fair price (way below those mentioned in some of the threads here) as she is one of the last 2 from the litter. She came with a MKA cert. The other (still available) is without a cert. The owner has told me not to reveal the price.

No problem but anyway did you check for the microchip number MKA? Normally a whole batch of puppy should have cert unless they are different litter. Must be more careful. Smile
