Training help Can't Post

Hi dog lovers. Just wanted to find out some info on MKA's Obedience Courses. How many intakes are there in a year? My 3 month old Dal is going for her 3rd vaccination this coming February and her MKA Cert is only coming by March/April. She's very naughty at the moment and there's no way I can make her listen to me.Unsure

Hi ...

While you are waiting for MKA classes ... get a good dog training manual ... and it will be worth every penny ...

Promise ... you have nothing to lose and everything to gain by learning how to train your dog ...

Cheers Smile

Thanks for the reply surchinmy.Smile Any books in particular that you would like to recommend? I've been trying to find a breed specific book for my Dal but unfortunately cannot find any. What about the classes? Do you know how many intakes are there in a year? Don't want to wait till it becomes too late to train my Dal.Unimpressed

Hi ...

Well ... most breed specific books will contain some information re: training and dog care ... But for purposes of learning how to train a dog, I would (personally) get a good basic tranning manual ... or better still, get several and learn from all ... Smile

I am not a particular fan of MKA training classes ... so am the wrong person to ask ... But I do think you can join at any time ...

Anyways ... would suggest the following manuals ...

http://www.amazon.com/...v=glance&s=books

http://www.amazon.com/...v=glance&s=books

http://www.amazon.com/...v=glance&s=books

Cheers Smile

There is lots of doggy books available in Kinokuniya - KLCC tons of doggy books compare to MPH bookstore. Check them out.

I normally go there to get my books on dogs.....

hahaha...that's one of me & my bf's fav place since they open Wink and nearly if not mostly of our books - doggy or not comes from there. They have a wider range compare to pet's wonderland and MPH where they almost sell the same range of books.

cheers,

Hello ...

Like Minglmy says ... you need to visit the bigger bookshops in town ...

Just a thought ...

Amazon has an amazing variety & range of dog books ... The basic price is similar or cheaper (and buying several books at once makes the postage more reasonable) ... And when you really think about it ... it's a worthwhile investment both for ourselves as dog owners and for our dogs ... A good book will last years and years ... and what we learn - we never lose ... And in the overall scheme of things, the money spent on books is only a fraction of what it will cost to acquire, feed and rear a dog or several generations of dogs ...

Cheers Smile

I totally agree on that. In order to communicate better with them we have to understand them first.Smile
