Afraid of thunder & lightning? Can't Post

With the current wet season, just wondering if your gundog breed is afraid of thunder and lightning. My ECS is surprisingly reacting well to thunder boom. For those really loud booms, he will react with barks. Even though he's outside the house alone, doesn't seems bothered by it. My previous dogs (working breed) would just go crazy and wanting to come into the house. One even learnt how to open the gate to run out Crazy. Is it because ECS is gundog breed that they're not afraid of such loud booms? Or does this just boils down to a dog's character???

My half ECS pup used to bark at thunder then run and hide under a table - now she just ignores it, lol. My other dogs (Doberman and GSD) have never paid attention to thunder though.

Hi ,

Any gun dogs afraid of fireworks and lion dance?

Surprisingly, Rex reacts very well to fireworks & lion dance.. he 's not scared of fireworks (the sight & sound) and seen emotionless when 'lion' dancing just feets in front of him.. Crazy . He might be thinking "what's the big deal?"...

Smile
regards,

CD Moo

All our adult cockers are OK with lion dances but they ahve been through a few cnys now... luckey was very barkey esp when the drums got really loud. when the drums stopped during the pauses, she would also go quiet... like she wanted to be part of the band or something. Brinkley was really scared, but she is also the youngest.

hi,

hunter barks at fireworks and fire crackers and run around like crazy everytime (while lookin' up on the sky). he never seen a lion dance before though.

however, when there's a loud bang of fireworks... he'll hide.

Hi Moo,

Bonney also 'emotionless' when she heard/see the sound firework and cracker. Nothing abnormal to her, and i purposesly observed when there are firework near my area.

I think most of the lab are OK with this, since they're are gun dog mah. Hahahahhaa

wah....you guys' dogs are really brave...my oky is one weird dog. hehehe....i think he is still not exposed to everything yet. he will start barking when he hears loud noises like fireworks/tractors. he is afraid of going to the toilet and i have no idea why until today. he is also afraid of upside down stools because when he was a puppy, he got stuck in one of the stools and he cried like hell. bad childhood memory, i guess. poor thing!
