noo!!!!.... get the nylon type.. it's supposed to be soft so it wont hurt your hands... definitely not leather or metal chains... leash is usually 5ft.. 6ft is common too... ask the pet shop.

If you are not sure, i suggest u dont buy..the instructor will advise when u have your orientation.. then u can decide to buy it from them or outside..he will demonstrate which is appropriate for your dog n you...
