Nope...sad to say...coz MKA is affliated with AKC and AKC don't recognised American Pit Bull Terrier as well but AST only. However, MKA does recognise SBT ie, Staffordshire Bull Terrier...which is a smaller and more stout cousin of APBTs and ASTs. It doesn't matter anyway...MKA doesn't recognise alot of fine breeds like Dogo Argentino, American Staffordshire Terriers,Tosa Inu, Alapaha Blue Blood Bulldog, American Bulldog....I guess MKA just doesn't like these kinda breeds huh? I mean, UKC also recognise APBTs, but why MKA don't want? Probably all the bad press associated with pitbulls kuah.....

You mean the AKC doesnt recognize a breed named after America? Hey, what kind of Pit Bull was the one in Oliver! the movie? (The scary Bill SYkes dog)
haha... you mean Dogo Argentino is a real dog? hehehe ... just reminded me of a friend from Argentina who brought her mongrel dog to a dogshow and all those snooty pedigree dog owners were talking to her in a tone like "what are you doing in a dog show with a dog like that" and asked what kind of dog she had, and she made something up that sounded real, and they believed her!

The other day at Padang Merbok, I saw a bull terrier as well...very cute lar, the more "deformed" the face the more preferred. I think the most famous acting pitbull was Pete from the original THE LITTLE RASCALs..the kids drew a huge circle on one of the dog's eyes. Donno whether anyone know not..coz TLR seems to be a very old show. Anyway, I donno how to post pics lar, so sorry arr....but you can go to this website @ www.dogbreedinfo.com . It will list out all the breeds in alphabetical order.

Hi Beverly,
Welcome to the forum.
The Boston Terrier does not fall under this group, they belong to Utility Group. In AKC, they classified it under Non-Sporting Group. Read it at http://www.akc.org/...cbreeds/nonsport.cfm

hi there! i owe a staffordshire bull terrier (female) and i feel so sad that mka is banning them from being import into this country. i can tell u that a staffie will not even step on an ant. they are not dangerous and in fact is one of the most friendliest dog that i've ever met. right now, im looking for a male staffie puppy or a male to mate with. i believe i'm the only one left in KL, rearing this breed. i've been to vets and petshop and even mka and breeders to look for this breed. i will be very very glad if someone can help me out.
