Found this from a website... worth a read... and i welcome comments... "Two things contribute to tartar on the teeth and to gum disease: 1. Quality of food and 2. Type of water provided. Foods containing non-organic, low quality sources of meat, sugary ingredients and high carbs contribute to dental disease. Drinking distilled water will help prevent tartar or calcium build up on a dog's teeth and under the gum line thus reducing the incidence of tooth loss and gingivitis. Chlorine, Chloramine and other chemicals used to treat city water can cause severe allergic reactions in pets. Any pet with allergy symptoms such as itching, dandruff or hair loss, should always drink distilled water exclusively. Pugs with breathing problems should never drink tap water due to their high incidence of allergies and their crowded teeth. - Per a visit I had with Dr. Robert Wiggs, Dallas, Texas - The leading dental vet in the country, plus an officer and one of six Diplomates teaching for the American Veterinary Dental College" Sookie's Photo Gallery DON'T BREED AND BUY, WHILE HOMELESS ANIMALS DIE.
