Not sure we need to get approval from the K.K and / or MPSA. If we just organise an "informal" one.. then we can jog half of the lake and return.

Oooh a Puppython sounds so fun! Yay, lets do one! since Luckey and Brinkley missed the one at UPM, they've been bugging us to take them to the next one and to wait a whole year a bit long.

I think we should definitely do the tailwaggig competition again, brinkley has been practising so hard Tongue

Worse come to worse, we have a puppython infront of ur house loh...such a big field mah...i think we can jog for may be 10 rounds to have 2KM puppython.

Then u can setup a table infront of ur house to collect like 50 cents for toiledt and RM 1 with toilet roll loh....this one sure can make money, then u can buy more thing for rex loh.....muakakakkakakaCool

You know what, I think you're right.

They go out and run in the mud and then come in and put their paw prints everywhere and when you tell them off, all they have to do is give you that really sorry look and come over and lick you on the face with their muddy lips and you forgive them straight away... then the next day they do it all over again!

Luckey can join the pug gang in bum wagging, she's gotten really good at that, since her tail too short Frown

but I still think retrievers tails are better built for the job. i mean, Brinkley uses hers as a weapon!

Re: [jnmx] Puppython 2003/2004

Great idea to have a PUPPYTHON. But there are still many things to consider and do before doing it. I think a bigger space and place with more shades so people can hide away from the sun. Need to set up toilet too to ease people. Also some booths, maybe to sell drinks and food or maybe to promote puppy.com.my.
I think we should also make ourselve a big banner, so whenever their's a gathering, we all members and non members can always take pictures with the banner.
Hopefully we get more ideas from other members and make this puppython a success. TongueTongueTongue

I really hope in the near future we can have some activities in Penang like what we use to have in KL. But must promote harder to get more active puppycom member in Penang loh. I heard that u put the puppycom car sticker in ur BF's car right ? Y don stick on yours ? Re: [cherygan] Puppython 2003/2004

Hi Chery..yeah, sponsors would be great especially if we have some insiders to "pull some strings" but I'm thinking shud we have probs in getting sponsors, what we can perhaps start off with a fund for this. Each member can contribute say RM2-RM5 and there'll of course be a committee to handle this fund. We can use the money here for the food & drinks, the prizes etc.

The bigger the fund, the more things we can do lah...but if it's on a smaller scale, then maybe we can restrict the events to a max of 5 and 2-3 prizes are given to the best dogs per event???

The committee members won't have to handle all the buying and organising all the time..instead their main task would be to handle the fund. Members can take turns to be in charge of stuff...like Mr A for drinks, Ms B for snacks etc..

Even for classes last time..we always have class fund for year end party etc..so since we're having gathering every other month and there's always supply of food & drinks, I thought this wud be good. For those who are volunteering to make things like, cake, sandwinches...perhaps they can get $ from this fund but of course, if they wanna bring 'em on their own, better still...there'll always be "piranhassss" to finish 'em off Laugh

Hi carynn!

we do give bits of cucumber to chew on sometimes but that's a bad habit!! Every day during dinner there'll be a familiar 'floor mat' under the table, going from one person to another, licking ur toes, lying on ur feet, rubbing his face against ur legs....and when u look down, he's always looking back with that slight tilt in his head and the whole bundle of furry white fur will be moving from side to side furiously...

then a piece of cucumber disappears under the table...Crazy *sigh*

Hehe so when we going to Sban? Anyone else interested in Seremban Lake Garden for a gathering??

Hi Carynn, Smile

This is great!! But seriously, we have to go more surveying first. Firstly, to check if they have signs at the lake gardens to keep pets away or not.

But the picnic sure sounds fun! But evening a lot of ppl go and pak tor wan wor....I think morning there's almost nobody at the Lake Garden.

You are absolutely right. We have to take care of our favourite spot & also the environment around us. I'll bring some big garbage bags, maybe we can use them to make temporary dustbin in various places for everyone to use.

Re: [Patricia] Puppython 2003/2004

Rent a Stadium and make it a HUGE Annual Puppycom Event!Angelic Enclosed-open-air stadium would be just nice for all doggies. Yet, a big field for activities, trail for competition, big carpark, place for pee-poo, booth for ticketing and prizes.... wow~ is it possible to have it in an open sir stadium? (IF with sponsorship?)

Would love to see this Event in year 2004 (keeee~ i wanna join larTongue) so would have more time to plan ahead and give it a big HIT to the doggie community in M'sia. FIRST ANNUAL PUPPYTHON. Get Sponsorship~ Sell tickets~ get supporters from all m'sian doggie-fans to this Forum. Wanna do it? do it BIG~ if langsung just for FUN, then maybe can make it twice a year in KK as a casual outing for puppycom members.

You suggesting around x'mas? Mmm...... dun lar... I wanna organise another party then.... Unsure

I support the idea of having a big garbage bags cause during KK, i saw the dustbin were piling so high and we had no place to dump the poos of our dogs anymore. Therefore the pile gets higher and higher. I kinda feel sorry for the person to clean up in the end.
And then some dogs will go sniffing and play in the rubbish.

Re: [doodle, Terry] Puppython 2003/2004

Hi guys Smile

That's a great idea. But I also believe anyone who's brining their dogs should bring their own plastic bag and pick up after their own dog(s). We should all be responsible enough to keep a watchful eye over where our dogs go and pick up immediately. So many dogs...so many ppl....it won't be that nice if anyone steps on it and make it a bigger mess.

If we can't even pick up after the furkids and can't make sure the place is clean, we really have no one to blame if Datuk Bandar does erect a sign prohibiting us from going there anymore. Who can blame the residents for complaining if we leave landmines everywhere for them right? Tongue

Fully agree wth you, we should pick up after our own doggies. At the Dogathon, noticed some irresponsible owners who just let their dogs crapped & walked away, leaving the place smelly & potential landminds for unsuspecting victims.

A couple of big big plastic bags around the place for depositing our 'deposits' is a good idea.

Rent a stadium is a great idea, but can we get those $$$? Its not fair for Mr. Khoo or anyone just to bear all those responsibility for paying all. Renting a stadium for one day might cost under something like RM5k maybe and its not easy to get those $$$.
I think we should settle for something more simple and cheaper Tongue We should try to start from smaller scale and start doing bigger one once we have some experience. At least we can show people that we start from nothing to something that could make all of us proud.

it just that to me, PuppyCom has the potential to give it a BIG hit~ to me, either with a fun gathering, fun contests... OR, make it a HUGE & outstading event that could represent puppycom. Well~ maybe the theme of Puppython has inspired me something "BIG" to happen. and I strongly believe that Mr. Khoo could make it happen with all the supports from puppycom members.

If I'm not mistaken, Puppython was proposed by Boon and the venue suggested will be in KK but need to check this out with Uncle Moo first. The suggested date will hopefully be around end of this year, say December. Will have similar events as held by the dogathon but probably a more casual event by Puppy.com.my for the forum members.

Re: [hunter] Puppython 2003/2004

hi all,

off topic again, kena marah liao o. hehehehe.

i think the puppython should be made a bigger event than the regular KK gatherings.. maybe at a bigger place. if it's still held at KK, i think it's basically same as our monthly gatherings except it's called a puppython instead...

having it in places like midvalley is probably a little harder to achieve in terms of sponsorship and organizing such a huge event.. instead of trying to jump high in one leap (if we fail, we might fall hard), maybe we should tryout something at a smaller scale first...

Re: [hunter] Puppython 2003/2004

Hunter,

Agree with you, if it's still KK, no difference for the BIG THEME. If getting another place, this really need to be well-planned. that's why i think 2004 is good.

out of topic?? i hope by then i have a club of cheerleaders ( fans) for the Event as well as for the forum.

hi mackmack,

i agree too, that it shouldn't be rushed over as it'll make the planning less-efficient. perhaps like some suggested, could be in a company's field.. or a stadium or something is more appropriate.

(*whisper** off topic : sure sure, u will have ur cheerleaders :)) )

Re: [hunter] Puppython 2003/2004

I still prefer to see such a big theme (i luv the theme of Puppython and can only picture it as a huge and successful event) in a big place with a big crowd and make it a big event in M'sia doggy history. Make it like an event more than just a gathering.

however, it would be nice to rehearsal a small and informal one in park. and everyone just have fun from it while doing some competition among members. maybe the BIG theme shall be reserved and call the rehearsal as "puppygame"??

Re: [mackmack] Puppython 2003/2004

Well, any dates can be put up for suggestion, the majority rules. The most important thing is to have fun amongst the dogs and owners. On top of this, we should get public awareness. We, as a puppy com members should come out with something that other dog related organisation has not done before. Ya, really look forward to see this puppython activity come true.

So, Boon make it Puppy Com "boleh" ok !!

Re: [jaz] Puppython 2003/2004

Yeah....

He'll sure update usSmile. Do u guys think is a good idea for dog owners to have some marathon games too?Wink

I'm good in organising that. Did it lots of time for church picnics. It's gonna be fun I tell u!Cool

We divide all the members into 4 groups. And we'll have 4 leaders, namely :

1. Mr Khoo, 2. Mr Arthur, 3. Mr Moo and 4. Mr Derrick...??Angelic

And judges for each team maybe 1. Boon, 2. Kangser, 3. Jennifer and 4. Ming Yang...??Angelic

or anybody...Smile

Then, we can have few session of marathon games like:

1. put a straw in ur mouth (*cant use hand) to pass "gelang getah" ...

2. eat watermelon and "tiup whistle" right after makan...

3. drink 1 can of coke with longgggg straw...

4. eat 3 hard boiled eggs...

5. passing of water ballons...

6. find candy in a bowl of flour...

etc, etc,etc...

Which team who finishes all the tasks in the shortest time will win the race.Cool

Well, just an idea as I dont know whether all the members will have any extra energy for all this or not.Crazy

It's just a 45-60 mins game. I think is a good way to keep all the members together to do somethingWink.

Dont you guys think so? JUST AN IDEA! * dont shoot me with M16...CrazyPirate

I need opinions......Angelic

Re: [jaz] Puppython 2003/2004

just a small suggestion for the games for the puppies..maybe having a doggy race.Smile1 person will stand at the starting line while holding the puppy, the owner will be at the end of the race. When the whistle goes, the first person will let the dog go and owners can start encouraging and calling their dogs. The first dog who reaches his owner wins.

Since there are quite a number of different dogs with different smells..it might be a little difficult to get them to come..and also no food or toys are allowed...hehe..to make it a little challenging.

It's more suitable for puppies though.Smile

not sure if this has already been suggested(too many posts..can't keep upTongue) if it has..just ignore it

no one can dognapped Mocha coz she knows how to take care of herself. She won't simply let other people touch, drag her around. Trust me on this. She won't even let my dad touch or take her anywhere except me, my mum and terry only. So, dream on ya !

Oh well, that's why I have no worries that she will be dognapped coz she won't just simply follow anyone and if anyone feed her, she just won't eat or drink.

and as for Summer, I guess you will be seeing him during the gathering.

The proposal for the puppython and the sponsorship is on the way and the good news is the dog food supplier is interested to sponsor for this event. I will work out the proposal and budgetary issue with the other members.

Once i have the firm and complete info with me will update you all.

We are now seriously planning about the BIG event. The proposal is now in progress and hopefully will be ready before the next puppy.com.my's gathering at KKAngelic. Coz we need some time to get the proposal ready for the sponsorship. I guess it's still sticked with the initial plan of having it in the year end of 2003, for the time being, might just need to see how to implement the program. So, all suggestions and comments are welcomed. More things are planned for this event and so........... stay-tuned~Wink

(pls bear in mind that we want to go it in a BIG way~Smile)

Hi KK Soon,

Nope, the only thing that u need to do is to make sure u r there during the puppython and also bring along ur gf/bf/wife/hubby and more importantly furkids.Wink

You may want to bring more of your friends to join us on that day too, as of the precise date, we still haven't decide on which weekend of december yet.

Usually we have our gathering once a month and will be announced in our event calender. But for this months, there are so many functions going on until end of sept....so most probably the next gathering will be beginning of october. Why dont you join us for the PD trip for the furkids on 23/8/03?

5. Program Manager - Events of the day like games, shows and etc

6. Food & Beverage Manager - Drinks for participants, dogs and food for all

7. Site Maintenance & Readiness Manager - Venue, security, car park, direction, and many more

Re: [ginl] Puppython 2003/2004

Ah Ee

Yeah very good question indeed, of coz, 7 people sure don have enuf time and energy to make this big event of the year happen. Let me explain to u, it actually work this way, the 5 event managers will have their own sub committee members under them directly.

For example, Maintenance & Site Readiness manager would have a few people to arrange and coordinate with red + or st john for the first aid, and some for the direction and parking.

Food & Beverage's group will ensure all participant and committes got thier drink and food.

Event Manager need more people to coordinate and explain to the participant on how to take part in each game

Treasurer and Secretary will need a smaller number of sub-committee member just for registration, collection, donation and minutes of meeting and other documents.

ok i would prefer to have a list of voluntary members that willing to help and then the 5 managers will have a meeting and pick their respective sub-committee members. Cool

As of know the more the merrier lah. Chairman and Advisor will definately have some say in the list, but we would rather prefer the community to choose their own. Since this forum is a public community for dogs. Tongue

Hi Ming Yang

I think is better to combine the list of those birthday boys and gals and the volunteer. If not this is kind of confusing and hard for the other to follow up and put their name there. I would suggest to have it this way

Those who are interested to help :-
1. Eve
2. Lisa
3. Gina
4. Patricia
5. Cin-Di (If Can)
6. Ming Yang

December Birthday furkids :-
1. Jax (December 2)
2. Amber (December 14)
3. Rex (December 28)
4. Mocha (December 28)
5. Summer (January 17)
6.Jasper (January 21)

Re: [ALL] Puppython 2003/2004

For this puppython, it seem that Boon has done some planning and ground work and we ought to do it in December. We are now looking into the committee line up and this should be finalized within the next few days. Boon and the main team members are also expected to hold the first meeting in this coming PD Trip to sort a few issues.

More announcement will be made in the near future on the line up as well as events we will hold during the first Puppython in our history.

Cheers

Hi paulynn,

the Puppython 2003 was proposed to be in December but yet to be announced. please visit the thread often so to check for any updates. You don't have to include your dog's birthdate here.... those that shown above are just the dogs that bday fall in dec and jan, and hopefully there will be something special for them during the event.
