dog ear twitch

My lil furkid has been infested by ticks & i have applied Spot-on to him.

But, i noticed that last 2 days, he has been twitching his ears & scratching his ears.

So, I immediately took him to the vet for a check-up cos i suspected ear mites.

The vet gave me a liquid solution called dexoryl to apply. But, till now after 4 days he is still twitching.

I'm getting worried cos i read in the internet that its probably caused by Distemper. Can anyone share with me, if this could be that serious? Or it is just ear mites that are making my poor furkid itchy?

Thanks.

Re: [Ahsuah] dog ear twitch

hi, why not take ur dog back to the vet for another checkup on the ears? if i'm not mistaken, ear mites would have cleared up after 4 days of medication...

yeah, i would like to wait till probably tomoro or so. See if it will cure. Otherwise, i will take him to the vet.

But isit normal for his ear to twitch?

Re: [Ahsuah] dog ear twitch

i'm not sure what u mean by twitching... if it's what i think it is, then i think sometimes my dog's ears twitch too... but if it's constant scratching, then there may be a problem...

Re: [ai_ney] dog ear twitch

It could be twitching because the medicine is inside his ear and he feels a bit uncomfortable with it too
