shih tsu's marking problem
I just got a 2 yrs+ old Shih tzu 2 days ago. Overall, he is good. The only problem is marking....the owner never gave potty train to him & they just let him mark everywhere!!! I have observed him for 2 days, he keep marking at the tyer....only tayer. He never pee or marking in the house, only tyer!!! So, any advice how to train a TWO yr old dog?? and he has not poo for 2 days too !!!!

neutering might n might not solve the problem of marking. Depends on the dog also. Think by tomorrow if he still not pooing better let a vet check. Also check if he's been eating up his poo or not. If the dog is not stubborn catch the dog in action and maybe use newspaper to whack him. If he ever pee on opther place which you want him to then praise him. Will take a long time as he's already having the habit of marking everywhere. Needs time to take away a bad habit same like to humans.

Hi Yen, thanks for your advice. You might not remeber me but I did went to your boarding home open house with kien (Rossi' mom). My dog finally poo the next day but Im still working on the marking pro...my 1st dog was neutered so he NEVER mark before.....Haih, gotta be patience since he is an adult dog now. Wish me luck ya.Wink

i remember you. Saw your pic in your blog. Good luck with the shih tzu.do let us know if you need any help.. toilet training is always hard for adult dogs.. that's y my personal dog's are only females Wink
