Re: [Riccaval] BOSTON TERRIER

Riccaval,

Hie... I am a huge fan Boston Terrier. However, I haven't seen any in Malaysia before(as in public). I've seen it once in Pets Wodnerland, Mid Valley. That time I wasn't planning to own a dog. And now I can't find that breed anymore. Yet is damm bloody expensive when they sell it there.
How can I find a Boston Terrier?!?! Can I see yours?!?!?!?!

Re: [wernnee] BOSTON TERRIER

WinkHi,

Haha, finally there's a BT fancier out there. I have been a slave to BT for more than 5 years. Their numbers are very small not only in M'sia but all over probably because they are not easy to breed.

I use to bring one to the gathering at KK and was also there at BU during the RDO gathering.
There are a couple of pics at the photo gallery of my BT puppies.
Hopefully I can bring one to the gathering this sunday.
CheersCool

Riccaval,

I won't be going to the Sunday gathering... Have to work.
How many Bt have you got?
Hows it like to own a BT. Is a troublesome?!?! DO they need extra care or anything like that. Cause I am planning to own one BT this mid year.
I want to understand more bout it first before I get it.
Thanks.... I am so grateful to know someone who have a BT Finally.

Re: [wernnee] BOSTON TERRIER

Its quite easy to take care of Boston. They are just like Pugs but much more active. Grooming is just like how you groom your Pug.
They prefer to be indoors and they do shed short tiny hairs. If you keep them indoors u probably don't need to bathe them so often, just get those swipes and give them a good rub. Pay attention to the folds on the muzzle should be dry.
I noticed some lines do have skin problems so that is another thing to look out for.
Where is ur new BT coming from? Are you planning to import one?
Cool
Dont worry u'll have other opportunity to meet the boston if not this sunday.

riccaval,

LaughLaughLaughLaughLaughLaughLaughLaughLaughLaughLaughLaughLaughLaughLaughLaughLaughLaughLaughLaughLaughLaughLaughLaughLaughLaughLaughLaugh
One most important thing I need to know is does the Boston bark often?
And how tall is yours now and how long. I lived in an apartment you see. I am afraid if its too big, it won't be too convenient for the BT.

As of course I will keep my dogs indoor cause I do not an outdoor. I think by the way you describe it. Bt is exactly like my Puggy. If then taking of it shouldn't be the problem. I can't get a dog that would bark too much /loud and big in size cause its an apartment I am staying.

Whats your advise?!? Do you I should get a BT? Is there any circumstances I need to know? I really wished to have a BT since long time ago.

I am still searching for the BT Breeder. However my friend said he could help me to import from Thailand if I confirm that I want it. What do you think huh?! I am not too sure about breeding stuff. I bought my pug from a pet shop. Or maybe you have a better recommendation...

Thanks so much,

Wah....u so happyLaughLaughLaugh

No boston dont bark like mad dog but they are good watchdog...bark when necessary.
They are abt 12' tall and the most 20+ ilbs. when adult

No problem, BT can keep in aprtment.
I dont recommend to get BT from Thailand..the quality not so good....I was there last month for the dog show.
In M'sia very few breeder....1 in Taiping,1 in Seberang Jaya, 1 in Ipoh and 1 in KK haha thats me.

Reseach the breed more and take your time to find a good breeder.Cool

Re: [Riccaval] BOSTON TERRIER

Damm happy ler of course. I wanted to get a BT since long time ago. I gave up looking for it quite some time ago then recently when I saw a picture of a BT I wanted it so much and been searching for it everywhere. and now I found you! SlySlySlySlySlySlySly

Wei... Bark when necessary means. Bark whenever it see people?!?!
I can't let 2 dogs bark at the same time in my house. I was told that pugs don't bark but don't know why my pug bark whenever he heard noises outside! Unsure

Erm... are you saying 12 inches tall?!?!?!?! The leg oni or including the body?!?!?! I thought I saw a Boston Terrier somewhere which is like 45 cm tall. Is it a size of a pug.

I tried searching for it but my friend's friend owns a pet shop said the only place he can help me to get is Thailand.
You lived in KK. Erm... Kota Kinabalu or Kota Kemuning ler??!?! Crazy
Do you still breed them??!?! CAUSE I WANT!!!!!!!!
And how much usually are people selling it?!?!?!?!

Am researching more now before make a confirmation of getting it cause I don't want to make any mistake.

Wern Nee 'n' Puggy thank you so much

SmileHi,
Bostons do bark at strangers if not then something is wrongUnsure but not the crazy non stop irritating type.

Height is always measured from the withers(shoulder) so if you include the head, its much taller.

Haha...in pp.com....KK means Kota Kemuning.
If you need more infor you can email me. my addy is in the 1st post.

Re: [wernnee] BOSTON TERRIER

Hi Wern-Nee,
I've always fancy about BT too... just love their look, but guess i won't keep one, maybe.... maybe in future when i have more rooms for more dogs. They look smart when they are in alert mode, but look so dumb when they are starring at u .... head slightly up at one side.... give u a question mark on their face. Saw the breed in petshop before, really caught my eyes.Smile

Derrick,
haahaha..... *LOL*

mack mack,

Don't know why there is not many BT in Malaysia.
Damm sad... Derrick is the only one in this thread.

Eh... get a BT ler... so the amount of BT in Malaysia would grow.
Aih... wait ler... if one movie took BT in, thats it... the whole M'sia full of BT for sure. JUst like pugs. I think really not many people seen BT before.

Derrick & Mack Mack : New here wei... Didn't know KK is actualy Kota Kemuning. Maybe you all should form 1 Puppy.com.my dictionary. By right KK is Kota Kinabalu no?!?! Since all the breeder stayed far away from Klang Valley, so I thought maybe you're staying even further away. Sly
Glad that you're staying nearby.

Ying,

I haven't watch the movie 'Good boy'. Never heard of it before. Is it an old movie?!?! Tell me more bout it.

I meant... imagine if suddenly BT appeared in LOTR, ah.. that time... maybe people would even break into Derrick's house and steal his BT.

Erm... a good example is Men in Black and Cats and Dogs. Right after that movie, there's so many Beagles and Pugs around.

Re: [Riccaval] BOSTON TERRIER

Hi riccaval

I was thinking of getting a second dog. I currently have a tiny pappilon x. and am now looking for a second one. i was reading up a few other doggies like a beagle and came across the boson. wondered about it since it does seem to have the trait that may be suitable such as good with other pets, loves people, don't bark too much and short hair and easy to train. what's your expereince and how much are the ones at Ikano? (btw i'm in Sarawak, wish i could check them out! ) Crazy

Re: [worm] BOSTON TERRIER

UnsureAfraid so....some breed do command higher prices because they are hard to come by.
Commercially not viable as they are difficult to breed and have small litters.
Petshops normally quote higher prices for such rare breed. I'm sure you can get it for much less from local breeders but there not many around.

Re: [Riccaval] BOSTON TERRIER

Derrick,

Saw the BT already at Pet Safari. SOmebody already bought the female BT. They have only the male there. And I am not planning to get a male BT coz my pug is a bitch!
Geez... the BT really damm cute ar but he was frightened when I carried him. kinda frustrated though. It seems like the BT's father was imported from US and the father's a champion bloodline or some sort of hoo haa like that.

Do you think I can get it for a cheaper price if I go direct to the breeder? According to those people in Pet Safari, if I go direct to the breeder, they will sell it to me even more expensive. Unsure

Wendy, did they tell you who is the breeder? I doubt they will tell you. As far as I know there is one in Taiping and one in Seberang Prai.
Its only logical that you get it cheaper from the breeder. You wouldnt believe the mark-up at the pet shop.

Haha.. I didn't ask for it but she wanted to give so that I can check it out myself if they still have the female BT.
Yupp I guess I will try buying from the breeder itself rather than buying it from pet shops. Once I am all prepared for my new BT I'll start searching for those breeders around.

My friend told me that when his mother is sick, never go & see doc. but when the dog is sick or not like eating, his mother take the dog for doc. & spen a lot of $. He also told me that he is very happy b'coz at last he know who is the owner, but never ask me for going to take back! I don't think he will give me back, sine is already 3, 4 years.

Last time I saw 1 http showing a lot of boston terrier photo, I can't save all the photo, b'coz all the file size are very big, still trying to save all of it, what happen is I've format my computer & forgot to write down the side, do any 1 of u know any http showing lots of boston terrier photo? Even my desktop background also boston terrier.

Re: [bullylicious] BOSTON TERRIER

Hi Chris, I'll reply u here.

Breeder???....well I think anyone who has a litter b4 is considered a breeder. But what classification of breeder?....I read ur post on 'responsible breeder' and I think I subscribed to that but I leave it to others to judge. Whatever the judgement it doesnt matter to me but I can say I'm not in it commercially.

Attached is a pic of my imported BT...Mal.Ch.Rossdhu Dun It Again. 'Pretty' from NZ. I have stopped showing her as there are not many BT in the local show ring so I have retired her.

I was at Pet Safari today and saw 2 Bulldog at the Vet Clinic with their mommy.....that couldn't be you, could it?? One of them look like the one in ur avatar and the other was a smaller fellow.

cheers

Thanks for showing a picture of your Boston terrier. My!She does look like a very proud mommyOnly one pup? It was not me that you saw in pet safari as I seldom patronise there cause I get all my doggy stuff at the pet supplies at ss2 pet supplies.Bossie (4mths)is white and Hugo(8mths) is Red.I don't think that someone has a litter then they'll be considered as a breeder( it might be so here in Msia)..maybe hobby breeder would be more like it except if you have repeated litters for comercial purposes. Do you go to any dog get togethers? Just want to get to know more dog owners and their dogs..and share their experiences and for my boys to socialise more with other dogs as well.Have a nice evening!

Re: [dan2006] BOSTON TERRIER

Dear Dan,

I note that you just brought your french bulldog recently and I make the presumption that she is still a puppy. It is common to have some difficuties when introducing a new member to the present dog but it should be easier if one of them is still in puppyhood instead of introducing an adult to adult.

Since you appreciate that french bullodg is difficult to obtain locally, why not give everyone more time to adapt? More importantly, you should note that frequent change of enviroment will do the puppy no good.

Just my 2 cent.
