Jungle Trekking @ Tmn Pendidikan Bkt Gasing on March 26th, 2005 - ROUND 48 !!!
Date : March 26th, 2005

Meeting Venue : Taman Pendidikan Bukit Gasing

Time : 7.30 am

into the jungle by 7.45 AM pls note that we will not wait for anyone who is late....as we do not want to attract anymore unwanted attention from none dog lover. I hope you can understand .... so pls be punctual.

Direction 1 :

From Padang Merbok’s roundabout use the way towards Telekom. After driving passed Telekom on your left you will see a row of shoplot and signboard of a restaurant called “Lotus? Just before Lotus Restaurant, on your right, you will see a Chinese Temple and there is a junction. Turn right. After turning do go all the way straight for about 200 ?300 meter and there should be a playground of some sort and you can park your cars there. There should be a signboard that says : Tmn Pendidikan Bukit Gasing.

Direction 2 :

Beside the Lasalle School, there is the Raju Restaurant ?go straight all the way up and you will reach a T junction. At the T junction do turn to your right and go all the way straight you should be able to see the playground.

Things to take note of :

1. Dogs have to be on leash/harness on all times.
2. Please pick up after our furkids poo.
3. Bring plastic bags
4. Bring water for human n for furkids
5. Wear stockings
6. Have a good pair of walking shoe or sneakers.
7. One dog per person is highly recommended as it’s a real jungle trail. 8. Bring your mobile just incase you need to call for rescue. :P 9. Don’t wear too short a shorts if you are afraid of being scratch by the bushes and donating blood to the mozzy ya ! ;

haha...my newscaster is hubby lor...wanna read and wanna walk. luckily tak golek down somewhere else!

furkid ah...probably geri girl if she does not misbehave this week. Shalom cannot lar...coz we're keeping her hair long (once in a lifetime must for shih tzus)...but when she reverts to puppy look...she'll be there lor.

btw...little red spots...try using 2-5 drops of tea tree or lavender (human grade essential oil pls) into her final rinse. works wonders and they smell awesome.

meanwhile, if she's not due for shower...can spray her with some tea tree oil dilutted with water.

sounds a wee like mange...but not sure until we see...used to use teh aboev on shalom when her mange was attacking her...now she's clear.......

daisy used to have mange, but it was cleared. maybe cus she's out in the garden often these days..applied some oitment on her..hopo she'll feel better. i do bath her with malaseb

malaseb or even sebolyse...prolonged usage seemed to have made the kids immune to the medicated stuff in them.

so i reverted to normal shampoo (and conditioner for those who need conditioner) and use tea tree or lavender or even citrus oils in their final rinse. so far so good...

Dear All,

Please understand that we have to enforce the rule no 1 : " Dogs have to be ON LEASH/harness on ALL TIMES. "

With the recent incidents over the newspaper, its better to keep the dog onleash as the trek in gasing is walked by all races. This is not abt race issue but there is people who is afraid of dogs too.

Many of you guys who have been to the trek long enough I'm sure you have encounter some who is afraid of our doggies till they scream, scramble up on chairs and etc....

As doggie owners, we have to be responsible and also considerate n understanding enough to prevent all these from happening.

Do note that it only take 1 complain to get a sign up that says " no pets/dogs allowed" like what happen to Taman Bukit Kiara. I'm sure none of us wants to see this happen in Gasing too.

Hi Terry !

Let me put it this way, the stream is a nice place for our furkids and I too would LOVE to let my 2 fella run loose. Let's just make sure there is no one (who is not in our group) at the stream before we let loose our doggies ok ? fair enuf ? Wink

BUT during the course of the trail, please by all means leash our kids. With the recent incident towards the 9 yrs old boy, I'm ppl will look at us one kind. Lets not give them reason to hate/dislike/ban us.

Yesterday night, one of my neighbourhood guy was walking the dog.... this lady with the grand kids at their garden said to the kids "dont go near the dog ar, will bite u like the boy in the paper, wanna be bitten or not ?" sad right but its happening. (might not be for ur cutey small CHH though....)

wow..family reunion...so shockadoo. bet she would go gaga over everyone.

frontline works well in the long run. if you want something gentler...you can try troy...but i find it not so effective for some of our furkids.

let me know when u're coming then, i'll pass you shalom's aroma oil anti bugsy spray. hers is origin...they don't sell anymore...but if it works, then yiu can buy aroma oil based of other brands.

Is it maybe an idear, if the group is as big as last time, to split up the group for the short and a longer walk?? Anyone interested??? Maybe also better for other trekkers..

Yes the "Give way’ rule 2 d other trekkers, whether dey r coming from d front/ back of d K9 gang. R’ber 2 move aside with dog on leash, heeled close 2 u n allow other trekkers 2 move on 1st" is VERY important too.

Those who is infront or behind have to remember to let those infront knows that there is people coming from either way.

So you did went for the trekking right? How was it? Anyway, I was hoping that I was able to go too since it is my... big day but too bad pregnant... I rather be with your guys than those inlaw on my special day.. Sigh.. They even ruin my day.... Anyway, my parents took the kids to Genting and I am left all alone... But well no vacation as I have to shower the dogs and clean the floor and so on... When kids not around this is all I do "lo"... Sigh :( Hate it.... Tiring "lo"... Hope we can meet sooner at the trek "lo".. But with newborn pretty harder now :( Fiona

HEheeheh with newborn it is pretty hard to go because my husband don't know can "tahan" 3 kids or not but I will surely try my very best because I miss trekking too and I need to get this fat butt and tummy off me hehehehehe... I'm been train my pervious doggie just walk beside me, Is had to train on everyday....but I'm just train 3 days.....then I'm give up....coz my plam is paintful...coz my and my doggie is pull together....CrazyCrazyCrazyCrazy. but I'm sucess train 1 of my doggie (splitz mix), she just walk beside me, and when I'm said come or go, she follow .

Out of 4 dogs I gues only 2 of them ok "lo"... I dont know because the female is fat or what that she walks slowly and never drags.. But my male whenever I called he stop and look behind for me... Not good enough still walking ahead of me but at least he stops to wait and look at me... Fiona

My splitz mix also fat-fat, that's why she walk gently and slowy. your's male doggie is become good, at least he will listen your comment. like my doggie (now), I'm was going out of watering the plant, she try to escape--run fast--failed to stop/grap her----GOSH I'm calling her back, she turning back straight at me 1sec.....then ran away from me !! Me in deep trouble, afraid she got bang by others car......luckly she just stop at my neighbours house (3 houses away from me)....I'm was slowy to near her....if her saw me ran faster to her...she will run....I'm able grab her back at least !!!

Anyway, I was online today most of the time because at home... Normally at my mom's....
The problem you are going through... I have to go through that too when they are in the mood of running away... My rambo, loves to go out but often get scolding and don't now why he usually does that in the evening but never in the day, maybe too hot "gua" heehehehehe.. My daisy does that too but now since pregnant guess cannot run already hehehehe.... The other 2 does it before but never often.... and one of them just run out to the tree next the gate and pee than came back... What a habit.... Fiona

oh ! they got eaiser ticks...why don't ask vet get them some tick injection, is work and longer you buy other ticks product, and the injection is quite strong. but not suitable for daisy now.

my neighbours used to go hunting with his friend, my dog will got ticks (me and his house was aways 3 houses)....his car park inside.....I'm also can't believe my doggie got ticks (by the time, I'm the 1 who own doggie)....so he get a injection for doggie...then the ticks is gone on 2 day times. actually the injection is for pig CrazyCrazyCrazyCrazy. then I'm ask my cousin, he said also can use on dog too.
