As for photos, no worries, as long as our Ah Boon is there, there will be nice group photos to share.. but this time, we must ensure that he's one of them in the photo as well!! always MIA or he's the one taking the photo. Alot of my friends will be bringing thier furkids along to the beach as well.. sometimes, it feels like lulugurl, ashley and me are running a campaign to create more awareness on having a dog and giving them a good home & life! ha! ha!.

since everything has been set, let's not change the venue. We can always arrange to have another gathering at Beach at another time.
My close friend and the acting Gm, Mr.Ong HL has assured me that not only will they extend water hoses to the beach for our furkids, but tables, chairs and further services and even prepare food party packs or only drinks/ doggy treats should we require them so long as we keep the beach clean.
I am forwarding him a couple of natural doggy food recipies to keep handy for us and also request that he looked at having a dog-friendly day each month. He has further assured me that the prices will be kept very minimal if any.
Over CNY, I will be meeting up lots of old hotel collegues back in Pg and will be asking them to extend the same services, so that our furkiddies will have a variety. I too constantly look for locations to take Pepperboy out without hassle, hay and I thought, if we could not take them into restaurants and such, why not make the restaurants come to us.
I think you have help us alot by providing all these information for us.
For now, me and boon are trying to get the Kl people up to penang for once and we're trying to get some accomadation for them near the beach that allows to bring our furkids along
This is looking better and better all the time. Us Klang valley folks are looking in envy.
Dunno whether we can make it round that time...you know holiday period and all. Nevertheless, we are hoping it will be a fair weather day and looking forward to some pictures. Nice to know friends in the right places.

Official accommodation for furkids in hotels in Penang will very much depends on the size of an entourage. There are many hotels in Pg that has ground floor rooms with exits directly leading to the beach. And with some arrangement, even the housekeeping staff for the rooms may selected from the non-"pantang" employees. Group bookings tend to have more weight than individual ones.
As for walking our furkids in the lobby or even the poolside, that will remain forever a Big No-NO as it may offend other customers. The same rule applies in restaurants for hygiene reasons ( not only in our country )
With connections however, I have had Pepperboy stayed in several hotels in our country whereby the management staff were aware and some even visit me to play with my furkid in the room. Out of respect for all races and those who have helped make this possible, I do not want to openly name names or even the establishments.
There is no extra charges ( for furkids, I mean ) except for some code of conduct required on our parts as parents as well as our fur-children. Continue to discuss your plans till confirmation. Should enough outstation members really confirm wanting beach hotel accommodation for themselves and their furkids, drop me a note at red_hawk .
thanks for your support. I have the advantage of being a hotelier for the better part of my career before moving to my present industry. I have known several caucasion GMs who had furkids living with them in the hotel. In those hotels, employees are often more tolerent towards pet lovers. Some still are....
This is like seeing some light at the end of a dark tunnel. At least you have given us hope that with some discreetion and cooperation from both sides, it is possible to go for a vacation with the furkids and enjoy our beautiful beaches here. Next we have to tackle the highlands.. Why? Cos' Miniature Schnauzers look so good and natural in sweaters! Pepperboy is one fine example.

The beneficiary is on Jaz... i have to work like a dog to support her high standard of living on both fix and variable expenses.... Eve have to work like a 'ah sam' to follow up with her poo poo and wee wee.. and mop the floor, if the newspaper is wet and jaz doesn't really like to recycle her toilet... so she will do her business else where if her toilet is not clean enough for her!!! by saying so, we never have to worry whether she will eat or discover her poo and wee!!! she's super clean!

It's actually one of the characters that I found from many gift shops in LA. the "collection" includes Golden retriever, beagle, pug, bull terrier...etc. Their products includes stationary, souvenirs, soft toys, car-sun-shade....etc.

Hi, the beach is open for public but when u wan to bring ur furkids to swim try to away from Malay and chooice the time which less of people go there like weekday or morning time. no issues there. I myself was busy with photo taking with one eye and the other eye on Pepperboy, my mini schnauzer who was busy running around bugging all the furkids. After that, I took him out for a swim and was joined by Jackie ( Steven's GR ), I believe......
I am pretty sure there will be more events to come which we can possible meet up.

your Jacky was a wonderful delight and you should be very proud. Take him out swimming often as you can. Its great exercise. Pepperboy always swims with me quite far out but I need to carry him whenever he gets tired because he is small. He is a dead dog by time I shower him in the evening and can fall asleep even with a hair dryer on.

Finally, I can put your face to your name. I would have thought that you were a little older from your posts up here, but what can I say...you'd must really love your dog to know so much about them and that I am really feeling as old now.
Bonney looks really cute in your latest pics but I didn't think her to be as hyperactive as you'd described her. Pepperboy can be quiet at times ( especially when he sleeps ) but has a "TEMPER" that equals mine at work.

I make it a point to come home (Pg) every alternate weekends. Those weekends are very precious to me and I spend as much time as I can with Pepperboy. His mummy will be taking him to MKA classes in the following week. Maybe we can meet up then.
Its difficult being a long distance daddy but because I make each alternate weekend very special... he seems to know. As for me being experienced with Doggies, this I cannot claim. I am a mere novice in that field.

the pleasure was all mine. I got a chance to try out my new digicam and love taking composition photographs as well as close ups of animals and nature, doggies especially. Let me organised my work schedule properly and maybe we can organised the next Beach Party together.
Like what I highlighted in my earlier post, though I am pretty sure that we can never walk our doggies through the public areas of a hotel ( due to respect for the non-doggie people ), my ex-collegues at CPPg has assured me that they would extend their services to us out in their beach front. Can wait to get back home on the 22 and 23rd, where I intend to take Pepperboy out on a jetski or catamaran.
We could organise another beach party, with competition and games for all and invite our outstation friends to come down to Penang. It will definately require the rental of some beach bangalows for them especailly the ones with big doggies.

I'll probably go for a swim after class and lunch after..my weekends are just too short..., will probably have to start back to Kl by 5:00pm on the Sunday.

FYi - A catamaran aka cat is a wind sail watercraft. It has a canvas centre which our furkids can rest on. Because it is quite low, the doggies can easily climb on board with very little assistance or non at all.
Girls, if you call the watersports operator an uncle, you'd probably have got to call me that too.... ( maybe behind my back ) as he's only like a couple of years older than me. If you let him hear that, I'll probably never get great discounts for the rental of equipment ever again ( ha ha ) He and his boys are a couple of cool guys...and they have been there, like forever....
You'd probably right about the sun; hum... I wonder if they have created some sought of sunblock for the doggies yet...?
Anyways, like I mentioned, I am usually, back on alternate weekends, and like to spend time on outings with Pepperboy. If it is not this round, there will probably be many others and everyone is free to join in.
Hie Yeap! Good to know that you will start joining us on MKA classes.... Althought I might always be there as Eve (Lulugurl) will be the one waking up early taking Jaz to class.. she's doing the social thingy and i take cares of Jaz financially.
I think the new semester has just started. Jaz has pass her CGC test, she will be joining agility class from now on, but i think will also conduct CGC for the new comers :)
Jaz will now be joining the agility class but normally she will be joining the pre-novice class since she has passed the test.She actually can take a few more class from the novice level since she has not got the stay command firmly in her little mind yet. But we'll see

Tell us more about this agility class...hv u started it yet? A lot of response in Pg? How many obstacles are u all having? Is it conducted at the same time as the other classes? How much does the agility class cost? Sorry aarrr for the questions....very excited about agility class
The class started last week for last week will be the first class for the new 'semester'. So far, i'm not ask to pay for any additional fees. Yes, because the MIPE is coming soon, so those entering the trial will be training with Shan by the side while the new class is conducted by Ms.Yeoh at the cement area. And we those that hanging in the air, were ask by Ms.Yeoh to play around with the obstacles first.
For now, we only have 2 obstacles, one is the round one and another one the bar thingie. I heard that they will add some more by this weekend. I really think that we are more tired than our furkids when we train them for agility.. when we ask them to run over the bar..we have to jump too..but they will go by the stand and then sit there staring at you(looking like a fool jumping over a bar)..heheh

anyway, I have come to understand that one of our members have recieved nasty mail from someone who deemed that some of the discussions threads is out of DOG topic.
Perhaps, we SHOULD continue such so "perceived" personal conversations through our emails... so that we and others will not be victim to such unkind abuse unnecessarily.

Ha ha ha...eve, must capture that on video......the whole bunch of us jumping over the obstacles while our doggies watch us.
Joke aside, I have actually tried this at home. Pepperboy simply had his head cocked in an expression which says," has he gone Bananas! " However, most training books seems to say that this is the right way - the things we have to do for our furkiddies....

haha just the thought of it is funny...yah i can imagine your furkids looking at u blankly when u asked them to jump over the obstacles for the first time...during our agility gathering only a few dogs knew how to jump on command, the rest of our dogs either ran around the bar or under it or into it ...guess it's just getting them used to it....sounds like u guys are having fun there!

KL folks have to settle for lakes or drive to PD if we want the beach.. Hope it will be another smashing day with lots of fun and laughter followed by good food among friends. Take some pics ok?
