kesuke Doggyman Mar 30, 2004, 9:17 PM Views: 2327 Re: [fbong] Question on dog show entry oh i see... hmm...i'm not the best person to ask about showing dogs... but here's what i know a little. if you want to enter your dog, you must first be a MKA member. i think they will send you the registration form for the show and you fill it up and send it back to them, along with an application fee i think.. it will be better if your dog has know some basic obedience command...you won't want your dog to misbehave during show time right? You will need to fill in the show's form and send in the money for the registration to MKA. Once MKA receive it they will send a receipt to you. Usually you need to register 3 weeks before the show's date. For training wise, there is really nothing much. What you need to do is to make sure your dog don't be afraid being touch or don't want to walk when on leash. You will also need to train your dog to stand nicely on table. Make sure through out the entire time when your dog is in the show ring, don't let the dog lay down on the floor or jump around. Then after that, whenever there's a show, MKA will automatically send you a entry form with the details of the fees and where you should pay and also when. I hope this will clear your confusions.
