Re: [dmax] Jack russel terrier vs silky terrier [In reply to] Can't Post

Thanks for the advice dmax, We have tried many ways to calm him down. Maybe he is not used to environment as his has another sister with him during his time in the petshop. That's why he kinda lonely now. He now slightly much better now as we don;t really bark whenever he is inisde his cage. He is now sleeping outside of his cage everynite. We are trying to trained to pee and poo in his cage so that we can leave him outside his cage for often..

Vicfion, we only cage him at nite when we sleep. He is mostly outside during the day time. The reason why we want to sleep in the cage is because he wants somebody to accompany him at nite. I will have to sleep in the sofa then only he will follow me sleep. I can bring him to the room to sleep as he tend to pee and poo around. He just need companion at nite. That's we are hoping that he will try to get used of the cage or learn to pee and poo on the disignated area..Shocked

Re: [junecheah] Jack russel terrier vs silky terrier [In reply to] Can't Post

Hmmm...

Sounds like he just needed a little time to adjust to the new surroundings. Tongue

Anyway, time for house-breaking training! Remember to reprimand him (give voice signals like "hait") to remind him where to pee and poo if you catch him doing it at the wrong spot!

BTW, remember to have him vaccinated according to schedule as per advice from the vet too. Anyway, hope to see you one day at future gatherings with your furkid! Oh yea, does your new furkid have a name? TongueTongue

Take care.

Ya, we just brought to the vet last saturday for his 2nd vaccination. His next one will a month later. He was shivering inside the vet. It took 3 person to handle him during the injection. He kept on struggling and running away... He really hate the vet and injection.

Ya, we waiting for him to finish all his vaccination, then we can bring him out. Hope he will ready for the next puppy.com gethering..

He was given the name Whisky. But my bf's mom kept calling him poppy. So i'm not sure which one he will respond too..Sly

Wink Ok.... I know that feeling 'coz Snoopy is hyper with the vet.... She's not afraid, just hyper by nature... Unsure

A good tip, do not CODDLE or REASSURE your pup when he is shivering with the vet, it would only make him more fearful of the vet. Anyway, after the visit, give a treat or play a very fun game with him. Associate the vet visit with positive association. Laugh

Haha...Whisky is a nice name... Keke... Met a JRT whose name was Bailey (reminds me of a liquor)... Hehehehe... If you've got any pics share with us JRT owners...!! SlySly

Hey....sorry for the late reply....nice to meet you btw Tongue

Hope Biscuit and Bailey didn't terrorised you too much when u came to my place....they can be a real bully when a new stranger walks in.

I knew Bailey was a broken coat when I chose him....that was what i wanted....either a broken or rough coat....you can tell them apart frm a smooth coz the coat is longer and hv more finishings to it.

Re: [junecheah] Jack russel terrier vs silky terrier [In reply to] Can't Post

hi june,

i truly understand your situation when the little fellow keep barking and crying at nite... cos i used to have a english cocker spaniel and the fellow keep crying to get your attention... even sometimes i really don't want to 'layan' him... but i have no choice cos my neighbour also need to sleep... just inmagine.. the fellow just barking during the quiet night.. whole road can hear it... even myself also can't get used to it.. what about other??

cos i'm working at advertising company.. my working time is not really fix it office work.. sometimes we need to OT late.... :(..
just inmagine after back from work with tired mood... the fellow still keep barking and make you mad like hell.... :(

but when the doggie growing up.... this problem have stop it and we can have a nice sleep every night.. Wink haha..

Hey ginl,

Don't worry, your 2 JRT did not terrorised me. Instead, Grace's Violet is very scary. I'm so scared that Violet will attack me. Anyway, Whisky just finish his 3rd vaccination..he's a free pup now...Smile

Yah normally it's better to wait 1 to 2 weeks after the jab before bringing her out (for the vaccine to take effect).

Nevermind lar this round cannot there'll be another round Smile
