Hi,
i always prefer to DIY coz i'm afraid that the groomer'll punish or hit my dogs n also they'll contarct fleas n mistreat them...luckily they don't need much grooming...pom just comb 2 times a week n bath once a week while the lab just bath 2 times a weeek n clean ears 3 times a week

nails and ear cleaning did frequently and *carefully*.
as for combing...i only comb him whenever i feel like combing him.. not consistent.. sometimes can even be 2 months one session. his hair doesn't tangle up even without combing.

ummmm for mocha n summer paiseh to say their nails n ear cleaning job i leave it to my groomer to do lor...mocha juz dun let me do her nails as she knows if she makes a lil bit of noise i will stop immediately !

Hi,
yes, i've never brought my pom or the lab for doing grooming. it's jut DIY.....bath..easy onlaymah..pom's hair does not get matted, rarely go for grooming. I can cut his nails myself...trim paws...easy onlymah..besides that i don't know what more need to be done...

mine will be same with elly. number 5 and can be 8 also heheehe.. very simple and easy. Give him one bak kut teh bone and kau tim! He will be busy and gives plenty of time to cut his nails.

hi,
normally DIY,if too Lazy n tired,leave it to the groomer.but for cleaning ear n cutting nail,normally i do it myself.toro had a bad experience with a groomer b4, when she cut his nail too deep till it bleed. start frm tht day,he wouldn't let anyone touch his nail except me.

Hello, I usually comb Furbie's fur and tie it up in the mornings so I guess that's considered DIY. That's the only time he'll come willingly when called. Need to tell him:Tie hair okie?? Also send him for occassional grooming session (but not in pet shop). Hehe, Furbie is a shih tzu but his hair is shorter. Not long like other shih tzu.
As for his nails, that's another story. We cut his nail, my bf and I... Need two ppl to cut his nail and snacks to keep him calm. Or else he struggles like we want to chop off his whole paw instead of his nails!! Angie & Furbie-bie

Nolar.. as you can see in the avatar, he's got short fur mar.. So not much problems to tie the hair and do some grooming as in combing out his hair to get the dead fur. That's all the 'grooming' (it's considered gorrming rite?)that I really do. Other than the usual to clean his eyes and teeth and whiskers.
Like you I also wonder how owners of shih tzu with long hairs can do the grooming. If go for pro grooming regularly, i'll be pokai. Baby's haircut more expensive and more often than mummy's!! Angie & Furbie-bie

No choice ler.. I don't think the groomer can handle doodle either unless he use elephant chains. heeheheh... Sometimes dog's nail can be really tough. I guess the nail clipper has to be sharp and firm?

Lucky for me Furbie's fur a bit stunted in grwoth, so I just occassionally snip a bit here and there so that he doesn't look too shaggy that's all.
But from mwhat I've gathered in this website, it's definitely cheaper for grooming services here in Penang than in KL.. Phew.. lucky me.. (and my purse too...) Angie & Furbie-bie

actually it's not really essential you know.....we don't have cell phones just back a couple of years...and we have survived without them very well....so it's just that ppl have more money right now and getting on with the trend and then relying on their phones completely now that they become so attached to it they can't live without it.....i must admit also that cellphones nowadays come equipped with many functions so it's really kinda handy... but i try not to depend on the phone....so now sometimes i don't even bring my phone out with me....ahha.....and my friends are always bugging me what's the point of having one when you're not using? heheheh....but really lah...keeping a phone is expensive too....

actually i got used to it d....true that it might be handier but i've learnt to live without it n i find i better still or else if i go out my mum'll call 24 hours non stop. they force me to carry my dad's hp and i hate it...imagine clubbing n they call harrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrr
i felt more freedom without it less risk to cancer too n save more money....
