one question to ask....how does your shih tzu poo? i know it might sound funny, but my shih tzu stands up and poo!!!!!!! is this normal for shih tzu??? well, my poodle (female also) will squat to poo...but my shih tzu will jump here n there (instead of the normal sniffing) and she will just stand (yeah, with 2 of her front legs holding the playpen or the wall) and poo....
hopefully, someone can advise if this is normal and if it;s not, how ah?

My shih tzu will snift the newspaper, turn in circles to find the correct spot. Then squat and poo. I'm not sure whether your shih tzu's method is ok or not. But i think as long as they can poo then what method shouldn't be any big problem.
hehehehe...mayb u r rite...as long as she can poo, any method shud b fine...but it sure looks funny seeing her jumping around to poo...and sometimes it will b quite messy coz by the time she finishes jumping, the newspaper on the tray will b out of place....

Hehehe.....maybe you can treat it as a show everytime she poos. If she created alot of mess, maybe you can try to expand her poo area with the newspaper. So you won't feel so hard to pick up after her mess.
hahahaha...yeah lo....my family and i hv a good laugh each time seeing her poo...but nowadays better a bit d..perhaps becoz she sees how my poodle poos...so she kinda follow liau..so won jump so frequent liau...heheheeheheh

it really depends...both mine are now 4++ mths...well..if u plan to take another one, the younger they are the better.coz if they grow up together, they tend to b closer to each other...if u hv another one when your current shih tzu is about 3 yrs or older, u might face with some problem as ur shih tzu might not like the new addition and might bully ur silky (if ur silky is younger). this is what i hrd la....
to me, i think it will b good to have another one after ur shih tzu is properly trained...coz the new one will tend to follow ur shih tzu. so u won face a lot of trouble housetraining ur new dog. if ur shih tzu is still not properly housetrained, then u might have problem cleaning up their messes and it will be tiring to clean up 2 dogs!!!
i think it has pros and cons to hv 2 dogs...if they can accept each other, they will hv a partner and won feel that bored when we are away from home. and of course it's fun to hv 2 dogs/puppies following you everywhere u go i juz love it...
