Wah Lau!! I never knew it's a good thing to eat stone.... wouldn't it be difficult when they poo poo?? It might also open to the risk of internal injury as it may cut them inside and you don't have a clue!
Hi! We own a cross breed dog in our family. He do eat stone too. He is quite big in size, so far the largest door in our neighbouhood . Funny thing is he never have any problem on his poo poo and he really a big eater.
So, maybe you just ask the vet and see what they said.

Don't you just wish at times you can switch places with your dogs?? they seem to lead a no worry for tomorrow's life... they are only incharge to sleep, eat, play, do some tricks to make us happy... jump about play about... gosh.... don't even have to clean up after the poo and pee!!!
How can pebble taste nice.. imagine at times, some small little pebble found in your food and once you bit on them, it's like bitting bullets ya!!!! How can they possibly like it!!!! GOSH!!!
HAHAHAHH!!! That's true.. they cannot understand us at times... then they will show us that 'stupid' look... AHHAHAHHA!!! end up we looking like a fool to them!
the dogs eyes reflects more light than humans..that's why we get that effect...not sure how to get rid of it. Try not using the flash... ,-._,-. \/)"(\/ (_o_)
Yeah.. you cannot imagine how many photo albums I already have on Jaz only... I think more photo captured than my brother when he was a baby... Even our living rooms and kitchen are fill with Jaz's photo frame.... cool huh!!
although my parents' don't really frame up the family pets' photos..the same can't be said abt my purse..
anyway...abt the photo..that's the disadvantage lor..have to take a picture of them in the sun. I think one of the best photos is the type where your dog looks like he's thinking and the light 'shines through his eyes"..hard to explain..i'll try to get a photo and post it.
wait...! what am i talking abt? ALL doggy pictures look cute! ,-._,-. \/)"(\/ (_o_)
You know what.. we are going to take our family photo soon.. and we all agree to have Jaz in it with us (as part of the family) but don't know how the effect of the red eye would be....

I have already checked his mouth and stomach before posting the message. And like the original post says...everything is well. Good appetite, loads of energy interested in playing...typical puppy
My dog last night accidently swallow one 20 cents big stone. He likes to play with the stone, no doubt last time he did accidently swallow but the size very small. This time I m quite worry about him, til now he still look ok... U hv any advise for me? Visit My Blogs!! http://peonythestormrider.blogspot.com/ http://jojothemalaysianmongrel.blogspot.com
well..most of the time the stone would just pass through his system (tht's wht happened with my dog). Maybe you could try feeding him fibrous food to ease his stools? ,-._,-. \/)"(\/ (_o_)
Thank's for the advise. I had juz went to the Vet and she advised me to feed him Laxapet Gel. This is to smoothen the intestine so that the stone would come out with the pooh. She also said it's normal for the dog to behave normally despite the stones still stuck in the stomach. This is not good for the dog as over time the stone could cause injury to the intestine and cause infection. She said at this stage it would be very difficult to remove. If within 5 days the stone don't come out of the system, we need to bring him in for X-ray (RM 90++), and if the stone still inside, surgery need to be done (About RM450++)!!
If not mistaken, during our school time, I think only cow uses stone to help with it's digestion as they lack the necessary chamical. Dogs don't do that. I would strogly advise that you go to your vet for further information. Thank you. Visit My Blogs!! http://peonythestormrider.blogspot.com/ http://jojothemalaysianmongrel.blogspot.com
Its called Pica. Eating non-food objects. Sometimes its due to poor diet, sometimes its just bad habit.
Either way, its NOT GOOD. Stop it right away. Put hot sauce on the stones, get rid of them, whatever. They will just build up in the stomach and cause a blockage and require surgery. Some may come out, but eventually, they will cause BIG TROUBLE.
Do whatever you can to stop this behavior, it is dangerous for your dog.
