Hey Jason,

It was really great meeting you, your wife & your two dogs yesterday. Both your dogs are really lovely & it was such a great pleasure for me to have had the opportunity to handle your male bully. He's a fine looking boy. Congrats on your dogs' wins!

Hi Jason,

Apparently whoever tries to get BT in Malaysia will face the problem that you mentioned. I just got my pup one month ago and I start to think that it's not a pure pedigree. Bruce is a "so called" mini Bull Terrier, but i realize how it looks compare to my friend's mini BT in Singapore it's quite different. But as owner like us has not much choice or should I say NO CHOICE, take it or leave it. My sis saw my Bruce and told me that the paws looks really small and it seems to be a bit weird. Now that really freaks me out, since I've taken Bruce as my companion I wouldn't dump him even it's not a pure pedigree. I wonder if anyone here who is familiar with mini BT that can help me to see if there is anything wrong with him. My Vet seems to be has no idea about BT when it's kinda rare in my town. I'll upload the picture here if someone could help and I hope I am not at the wrong thread.

Here are some random shots taken at the show last Sunday. If you're having problems viewing the pictures below, click here.

J Woei, if you look at the last picture, you can see a Mini BT right in front of me & Jason's Standard BT, Mac. May I know where you purchased your Mini BT from? If you'd like to upload a pic in this forum, click reply & right at the bottom of your message box, you'll be able to see a small "browsing" box to upload pics & other attachments.

I am delightful to find this thread and planned to get a EBT by end of this year.

As I will be moving to a landed property, I will have bigger free space and will able to allow the dog to move around freely.

Hopefully by going through this thread, I could obtain more information on EBT and eventually get myself ready in getting one when time come.

Hi Jason,

The more I read, the more I realized about it.
I shall take my time to really understand the breed and slowly hunt for a good quality EBT.
I hope the price will not at the sky high price else I might have to let go .. hehe!

Hi J Woei,

So sorry for the delayed reply as I was up to my eye balls after the dog show. You are in the correct thread as I am always more than happy to help fellow bully lovers !
Where do you actually stay ?

You got the correct attitude as once we get a puppy we should care and love it no matter what !

As long as the puppy is healthy and strong it's okay !

You can look up earlier posting where Knotidoc and GoldenAddict help me how to post pictures in this thread.

Will be awaiting pics of your dog.

Attached is the only decent pic of Mac at the AKU Show on 28-03-10 using Photobucket which was taken by my wife ha.. ha..

Hi,

It was a great pleasure too meeting you and your mum together with your two lovely Goldens.
I like your big boy !

Thank you so much for helping me handle Mac .

I really enjoyed myself at the show and being able to meet my friends and so many of our puppy.com members like you and your mum, MMBullies, acsyen and their friends at the show.

I would have been great if Knotidoc was there !

I met lots of friendly and helpful people at the show but I must say that the venue was really dirty, hot and MKA did not provide any chairs !

I think the participants must ask MKA to hold their shows at a better place, if possible at an air-conditioned venue after all the show is sponsored by the dog food supplier !

Honestly, the SCP rooftop is the most embarrassing place to hold dog shows. Sometimes I wonder what the overseas judges are thinking when they go to a place like that to judge show dogs...

Anyway, the next show will be in Sarawak. My Mom & I have planned to go there to show River but found out that we have to spend a total of RM2000+ just to fly River there & we might even have to take separate flights just to cut down costs. Not sure if that's even a good idea. We also found out that we have to crate him together with the other dogs in a separate room in the hotel for 3 days. All of this is just going to cause River unnecessary stress. Not worth it + too costly for us so now we've decided to go for the Johor show instead. Atleast we've found an affordable pet friendly accommodation near the venue & River will be able to stay with us in the same room. :P

Hi J Woei,

Bruce's paws are ok but sad to say that his eyes are a major fault as EBT's should be small and triangular not big and round like Bruce's !

Sorry to say that his profile or head should be curve downwards or what is call 'down face' not curve upwards !
EBT's head should be egg shaped view from front or side ways. Look at Mac's head a pic of which I have posted earlier.

Above is a pic of Sly who is also 4 mths old when pic was taken.

You must have a head set which comes with a mike and it only cost around RM40 or get a mike for RM20 which you can get at any computer shop !

My honest answer is that he really doesn't look like a full BT.

The head shape might change a little bit but there is no way it's going to be egg shaped. If you didn't get the dog from a reputable breeder & didn't get legit papers at time of purchase than there is no guarantee the dog is purebred. Just enjoy him as a pet.

Re: [GoldenAddict] English Bull Terrier breeder in Penang, Malaysia [In reply to] Can't Post

Yeah, I expected Bruce is not a pure breed 2-3 weeks after I bought it. Now there is another concern of mine is because I am in KL now and I am going to move back to Sabah. The pet shop told me that I could only get the cert 6 months after which they did not give me the exactly reason(or you can call it the M'sia-style-reason "It's like that one loh".)

I believe without the cert I'll be having trouble sending Bruce back to Sabah, now what can I do to chase after the cert or to obtain the cert? Would there be breeder so unethical that they would run away from Pet Shop and should I expect the Pet shop to be responsible?

It will be greatly appreciated for the advises given.

Thank you

You don't need a cert to send Bruce to Sabah. You only need an export permit and an import permit plus the necessary vaccinations and 30 days quarantine at KK. The cost is approximately RM 1200.00.

Re: [Jason Lim] English Bull Terrier breeder in Penang, Malaysia [In reply to] Can't Post

Sorry for the late reply, there have been problem with my internet access. Well, last week I went to Ikano Power center and met a japanese couple who happens to own mini BT as well. So they calm that their dog does not has the spoon/oval head too. They also tells me that the mini BT they met so far in live is not spoon head too. So what is exactly wrong those mini BT/standard BT that the head is not oval?

By the way, I am very interested at teaching my Bruce to fetch frisbees as he is doing quite well in fetching toy balls and picking it up from somewhere and give it to me(not fetch just simply find the ball for me). I wonder if there is any coming or future dog days that is held annually with frisbee event. and what is the size of dog frisbees? where can I get one for dogs?

I am also very well aware of the stubbornness of BT as they are more difficult to train but at least I am glad that they are not too dumb to learn. In fact I think Bruce is way smarter than my previous chihwawa. or maybe I was too young to understand how to train the chihwawa those days.

Hi, I have entered 1 white dog and 1 white bitch for the coming 27th & 28th November, 2010 shows to be held in Galaxy Ampang Shopping Centre. Will you be entering your dogs for the shows ? I guess the venue is anytime much better than the SouthCity Plaza rooftop... ha.. ha.. I think the show is held inside the shopping complex which should be centralised air-con ? Hope to see you and your mum there !

Hey Jason,

Great to hear from you again & it's wonderful to know that you'll be at the shows! Are these the same dogs you've entered at the SCP show? Yes, I've entered Amber, River & Megan's mother. You have not seen her before but I've put up photos of her in my album. Will be showing her on both days. River will be at the show on the 28th to do a 'Heelwork To Music' demo but he won't be shown in conformation.

My parents went to check out the Galaxy Ampang Mall last weekend & even took some photos of the place. The shopping mall is pretty much deserted, only the ground floor is being occupied by some stalls. There's a Korean supermarket in there as well as some malay food stalls. The 3rd floor is very spacious but when my parents were there, the air-conditioner was not on. I'm sure they'll turn it on on the day of the shows. Parking space is just right outside of 3rd floor like, literally. Which is great ofcourse & there are limited plug-points. I hope they work well. I hate it when they don't.

I heard there'll be lots of overseas people entering these shows. Quite a number of them are coming from Thailand, Philippines, Singapore, India & maybe Australia too. I guess the shows are gonna be quite big. Want me to save a place for you & your dogs?

Hi Melissa,

I was pretty busy the last couple of months and it will be a rush job getting my bullies ready for the show. I will be entering Mac the bully which you helped me show the last time and his litter sister, Mabel (May) which you haven't seen before.

Would and great if you can reserve a place for me and my bullies, truly appreciate it !

I guess you are right for expecting lots of overseas entries as both days are International shows. Would be expecting lots of beautiful dogs and lots of people for the shows. Hope to meet some bully fans who have checked out our forum who have been calling me lately at the shows !

Looking forward to see you and your lovely dogs !

Take care.

I think it's absolutely awesome to compete against overseas dogs. Some of them are Multi BIS, BISS & Multi Champions. It'll be nice to win when it really matters huh! I've been doing tons of road work with Amber for the past 2-3 months. Going cycling as well as going for 2-3 kilometer walks with her every few days. Now, she's all pure muscle. Gonna bring her to the Vet by next week to get all her nails cut real short. She'll be under GA ofcourse.

Really looking forward to see you & your beautiful dogs too! BTW, I am slimmer now. So far, I've lost 24 kilos. :-D
