Of course, they can if its in the US. they even have a patrol car to do so ...but that doesnt apply in Malaysia. Even if any owner abandoned dogs in Malaysia, locked in gated porch. Neither SPCA, PAWS or Police can help the dying dog.
Only Veterinary Dept or Dept. Of Wildlife can do that ...they can trespass for rescue and other stuff...

oooppss..that one is a sensitive issue... more e-mails will be flying around on that nanti...
myza... dont worry... i'll back you up..... cos what we are saying are facts that we can see.... I've received an email from "them" in the past about them lobbying for the 10k fine or something like that.... but the fact is, it is taking too long.... 2 yrs already... but nothing of much... i think even after 2020... the animal laws in Malaysia would still be 100yrs behind U.S.
Psychiatrist all over the world has all said that animal abusers are very prone to other more dangerous things like murder etc... and all of this is not without proof.... why cant SPCA Malaysia use this point to fight for animal rights??? all over the world, governments are thinking of giving stricter and harsher punishments for animal abusers because of this... Oh yeah... i forgot... SPCA Malaysia requirements, we must do our own research/survey/etc with our own pocket money, then submit the findings to SPCA Malaysia... then only they will consider/acknowledge. This is because, according to some SPCA Malaysia Volunteers, Malaysia is a different country from US/UK... therefore, whatever research/findings that was done there cannot be used here in Malaysia.....
I kinda agree with him/her/them.... cos its a very good excuse to use.... apart from Malaysia is a Muslim country....

SPCA isn't just located in Msia.. He should've specified he meant the SPCAs in Malaysia. =='
Anyway, I AM going to send the pictures to mags and newspapers. But trust me, it's not going to make SSPCA look good. And I hope that making them lose face is step one to making them improve.
yes, write to the Medias, dailies I mean. Magazines wont write those issues. malay mail especially like those 'hot article'. Sendr you release to mmnews@mmail.com.my.

whether or not they work out the rights of the dogs, depend on how much effort they put into practice in the first place... when they are not doing their job as well as they should, the vet department will even have easier times ahead for they do not bother as much...

this is sort of a "minor" issue in the eyes of our government... look at the second malaysia-singapore bridge issue... and how long it took for them to make a decision?........ umm... i lost count on the number of yearssss... so when u were to compare this two things, it took them so long to make a decision on such an important development, how long do u think will they take to approve the proposed the animal rights' bill?
sad but true... although our spca carries the same name... their modus operandi are sadly very very very far behind as compared to the spcas of the us, or australia... i wanted to adopt a mongrel puppy last time from spca... but i was already staying at pahang... although it's troublesome, i can understand when they asked me to bring the pup back to them in 3 months for them to spay and at my costs... but what i was unhappy about is that they wanted to charge me rm 250 for the pup! to be honest, i was quite unhappy with that... because those who abandon their doggies there, were charged a sum... and now you are like "reselling" the pup! if you put as something of a donation out of any amount in which you can afford, that i can accept... and it's reasonable... but this one is as if i am walking into a pet shop and the boss telling me this pup is rm 250...

The good thing now is that there are other organisations out there that is "stealing their thunder" probably donation as well, thus putting pressure on them to improve...........I hope. I was curious about the motive of certain people to sabotage FFF, remember? I think this is the reason why.
I am a firm supporter of the two government system, the same applies here, when there is competition they are forced to perform.

I've written to a local magazine and they said that they will run the story. Where do you get all your information from? ><
Anyway, I'm just scared that it may scare that particular BYB and may cause her to move... Do you guys think I should go on with publicizing it or waiting for SSPCA to move? Problem is, they aren't confirmed about whether or not they will take action!

I adopted two cats from SSPCA and they said that they must do extensive background checks and have follow ups.
It's been about 6 years, and they still have not done their 'follow up'. Talk about talking c**k... They are the BEST at talking crap. Which is why I'm worried that whether they would really take action or even organize the meeting at all......

Hm.. I know that in west Msia, there are other organizations that take care of strays... But in Kch, there is only SSPCA. Maybe that's why they lack drive. :\

well.. i think this issue is no minor issues.... remember what happened the past few yrs... brutal murders and stuff.... it is already proven that all this starts by animal abuse.... if SPCA is being ignorant (as usual) and thinking that it only happens in the States or UK... then i guess no point of doing anything...
However, as a SPCA volunteer has said before... its difficult to change the opinion of old people... i guess its the same with SPCA.. its gonna be difficult to change their mindset as its how they've been operating for the past 50 odd yrs and i guess they prefer to stay within their comfort zone...

Hello Myza,
Yeah, it might be sensitive to a few people. I expect them to launch an attack anytime soon..... Then give them a dose of their own medicine by ignoring what they say.

Hey I didn't realize this post until today.. I've tried calling Veterinary Dept but the numbers are wrong/invalid. Do you know any other way I can get a hold of them?
sad....take the old lady and locked her in a small cage for a week. See how she feels...tua and bodoh!spoil my puasa only .....
Anyway, i really want to help. Can u send me your 'story version' from a-z, with pictures atttached. I will send to some friends in the Press, see whether they can help...also please attached your phone no, in case they need to contact u. at the same time, i will send to Veterinary Dept. in KL...
Please send to my e-mail myza at armada dot my...a.s.ap...i hope something can be done for our furkids. Is there any independent rescuer that you know at your place. Cos, once they raid the place and confiscate the furkids, someone have to foster them till they are adopted. Otherwise, they might face to be 'euthanize'...are u ready for that? of course, unless SPCA comes in and help for the glory of it...

Thank you for wanting to help... The full story and pictures are all on the blog ( petpawz.blogspot.com)... There is no known private rescue group in Kuching... And truth be told, even though this sounds cruel, but I'd rather that they all die than go through this kind of hell... But I do have quite a few friends who are dog lovers.. If something could be done to rescue the dogs, we won't mind fostering them until we find them homes. We almost wanted to break into her house to rescue her dogs... But that would be going too far...
Thanks again.. Happy puasaing. :)
PS, if you need my number, don't hesitate to email me at xvlsyx at .
sad to say, and i hate to admit that this is not the only irresponsible breeder around... when u look into mudah . com . my... there are a lot of pictures of the dogs that show a "backyard breeding area" background... with cages stacked up... and so on... rarely you can find responsible breeders which take the effort, to take care of the dogs, to groom or even deflee them... very RARELY... it's like only one in ten... ann is only one of them... honestly, there is nothing much we can do apart from going to the press... there won't be immediate actions taken by the authorities... there is still this grey area in our country in which who are the law enforcers for animals? customs? no... police? no... and CERTAINLY NOT SPCA... the local council seldom goes into this area... unless it's in the press... front page... ANN THE BACKYARD BREEDER... then only there will IMMEDIATE follow up by the local council... and still, it will take AGES in different levels of procedures...
