I bring my dogs to Golden Sand beach last month and saw lots of dogs (probably stray) there. The food court opposite the hotel also don't mind, I think one of the seller there has dog too, I saw one dog sleeping under the billiard table.

The strays there are quite ok, it's not really stray I think. I saw someone's feeding them when I was there. One of them did growl when my puppy came closer but the beach there is quite crowded so I think they get used of people. I don't know other place in Penang, last month was my first visit there, I stay in KL. Where's New world park's Old town? Is it around Batu Ferringhi? I plan to go there again next school holiday :D

Ohh, so u'r frm KL. I thought u're a penangnite too. Are u still schooling?
New world park is a new food court in penang. They built it just to relocate the old food stalls (delicious n famous) near there. In there there's also other restaurants. There's Old town, 600cc (i dont really like their food), an italian restaurant if im not mistaken, an indian restaurant n lots more.
U should come next time u'r visiting.U just go to Sawtao (unsure how to spell) lane. It's also near a HUGE pet shop called CTY. It's in town, not in B.ferringhi.
Bring ur pup along too ya. Btw, wat breed do u own?

whoa~ all 4 of ur dogs looks kinda fierce. I think it's bcz ppl here lack of understanding towards dogs lar. That's y they think ur dogs will attack them.

The beach behind Park Royal hotel is dog friendly. Whenever I am back in Penang, I normally go for a jog there early in the morning and will continue to have breakfast there. There is a small hut restaurant there. It is owned by a mat salleh lady and her husband. They allow dogs. :) You can even order sausages for your furkid.

Hi there!! My furkids are both designer dogs. One is a Cockzer (Cocker Spaniel and Schnauzer mix) and the other one is a dalmation mix. I bought the cockzer but the dalmation mix was adopted.
I am from Penang. But am working in KL now. So I hardly go back to Penang nowaday. I only go back during long holidays which is about twice or 3 times a year only.

Hello there!!
Oh Penang is so great!! Brought the furkids to the beach. There is this perfect stretch of beach at Tanjung Bungah which is perfect for the furkids because it is a secluded and sort of sheltered area. We had lotsa fun. The kids were totally exhausted when we returned home. However, the bad news is that Agora which was the hotel in Penang which allowed dogs is now no longer in operation. It is taken over by another management and is not known as Red Rock or something like that. And now they no longer allow dogs. So we will have to start looking for a new hotel which allows dogs before the December trials in Penang. Sigh!!
How was KKB trip? So sad missed the trip. How about another one on this coming Sat(20 Oct)hehe???

OK. I will let you know once we find replacement. There is a secluded beach area is is perfect for the furkids. The had great fun there. Oh and there is also this Thai Restaurant called Sweet Cherry located along Jalan Sultan Ahmad Shah in Penang. They allow dogs there. We brought out 4 monters there and everything was fine.
Need to call the restaurant to make reservations in advance. They will then reserve a private room for you. Then you can bring your furkids and have dinner in an aircon restaurant. Yay!!
check out the link there. got lots of doggies and gathering is at the beach too.
as far as dog friendly places, as long as it's outside think most people won't mind if your dog is well behaved. ie. sitting there staying quiet. if barks a lot, sniff everyone, jump on people then better hold on about bringing your dog to public places. a nuisance dog will cause restaurants/stalls to hate dogs as you will scare away their customers.
alternative will be using a crate/doggy bag. only issue with that is the whinning. if ur dog doesn't whine majority of the places(outside seats of course) will usually not mind.

will she at least come when u call her? that is VERY important. does she sit or keep quiet when you tell her? can she stay quiet on a leash? just these simple things will do if ur holding ur puppy

the reason for this is for your puppy's safety in case your puppy runs away, you will need to call her back especially if there are lots of cars around. leash or not accidents do happen. better be safe than sorry :D

Anyone has any idea if Penang hill is dog friendly? I intend to bring my 2 furkids in a dog carrier and take the tram up (first time going). Also are there any parks I can bring them for sunday picnics etc? Appreciate your replies. I'm going there on the first/second day of CNY & will be boarding instead as I'm staying in friend's place & the apt doesn't allow dogs. First day is RM30 & subsequent days are RM20 per day. If I'm not here, I'm underwater...!

From my experience, 99% of all chinese coffee shops have no issue with small breeds. Some chinese restaurants like 188, Goh Teo Kee, Teo Chew Ming also do not comment when you bring along your pet. We usually just walk in with our baby and order. They don't comment. So just bring along your baby and pretend it is natural.

Hi All,
I hope it is not too late to add to the list of dog friendly places in Penang. I brought my poodle to Coffee Bean in Gurney Hotel, outdoor, no one bother me! except admiring eyes and compliments from people about my Sugar.
Anyone knows if eGate is dog friendly? anyone been there with your furkids? not hoping to sit inside the restaurant, what about just the outside? Pauline
