Re: [mbless] Puppy to let go [In reply to] Can't Post

hmmm i can't seem to send a private message to you. guess i'll drop some stuff here about myself.

mm where shall i start. well i'm from penang originally and have moved down to work, have been in pj for only a year. i have 3 dogs back in penang, mid-sized mixes. i grew up always having a dog in the family so i'm quite familiar with dogs. i do admit i've never had a poodle, i gather they will require specific care.

i'm not particular about the breed but i would prefer a smaller dog that i feel i can handle and care for better and that can adapt to apartment living.

i don't work late at the office so i'm usually back at home right after.

i'd like to get to know more about the dog as well before i really decide if it's right for me to adopt him.

would it be possible for me to come by to see you and the doggy?

Re: [mbless] Puppy to let go [In reply to] Can't Post

hi molly, nice to know someone from penang also! it's ok, good to know he's found a family.

i'm thinking of all the aspects first, for example, is it easy to find good boarding places for pets when i'm away? what sort of dog would best suit me and my current environment.

someone told me she knows someone who has two dogs in my apartment, a pom and a mixed (medium sized dog). i cannot imagine having a big dog in an apt, it would be difficult to take him out for walks! and no room for it to roam around.

i've been reading about breeds. i'm quite interested in pom's and shihtzus. otherwise, i do like small mixed/mongrels also, but i gather small dogs are quite hard to find?

i saw some ads for puppies for sale, such as shihtzus for 500 , etc... what do you think about these? is it better to look at these options than to go to petshops? i read that petshops just get from puppy mills and they don't care for these animals well. so i would prefer not to buy from these places.

what would you advise?

thanks! koay

Re: [elkoay] Puppy to let go [In reply to] Can't Post

I would suggest you give a chance to homeless dogs...Which part of the town u staying?Which apartment? If in PJ, I can recommend a good vet in Sec 14.

U do realize that there's some sort of 'stupid law' that do not allow the resident to keep dogs. If u are in that situation, I hope you can find a solution rather then 'giving-away' your doggie....

I have 2 toy dogs (min pin) and 1 mixed breed. Size of unit : 948sq feet, I dont face any problem with space. Probably because, I dont like to have too many furnitures at home. In fact, they puppies are growing and they seem to be ruining everything they can have the teeth on.

My advise if you plan to keep them in apt : less furniture or better cheap furniture. Throw after rosak....plus lots and lots of toys....

Hi, I have another 2 pups looking for good home. One is a chi Hua Hua mix, and the other a fluffly looking gal which I think will grow up to be medium sized ( not suitable for you). If you are keen in the Chi Hua Hua mix, please do give me a call. There is an adoption fees of RM350 pay to PAWS. Fees will include her deworming, 3 vacinations and spaying. She is now 7 weeks old. My no is 012 6775627.

I remember you willi but this dog have long fur and needs a lot of grooming. I considered elkoay as i know her personally and know the type of dogs she keep so I am sure she will be a good owner to this dog of mine. Will keep an eye out for a small dog with short fur for you.

I also can recognise your dogs as I use to visit Goh and Eeling back in penang. I am Siew Yen. I recognise elkoay as Ee Ling uses that a lot. From other post u said u used to stay at the the curve so i know it's you. Can't remember if i still keep your number. Maybe you can give me a call at lunch time later then arrange for a meet up.

Yen - really appreciate that. Thanx

Was at Paw Subang on Saturday. My daughter was so keen on the few white puppies there. But since that we are not sure on the potential adult size, we dare not take the risk.

Earlier on, we were at Hartamas Shopping Centre. But can't find a suitable one to adopt, either

hi. i'm interested to adopt a pup. i currently have an adopted gentle giant cat and have experience in raising and clicker training a poodle. am an animal lover at heart and am hoping to give the adopted dog a job as a therapy dog in future (i think it would be good therapy for me too:-). anyways, i live in an apartment so i understand the restrictions. do let me know if you have anything suitable for me. i'm prepared and hoping to take it for walks as there's many places i can take it to after work and on weekends. thanks.

Hi willi, when did you go to PAWS? There were a few small dogs there. There are 2 maltese mix ( one adopted yesterday), a schnauzer mix, a daschaund mix, a small pure spitz... to name a few. they are all around 1 - 2 yrs old. We also have a Silky mix ...

She is a female dog... she is getting better now. turn out that she is already 4 mths old but just very small... slightly bigger than my palm size. Anyway, I have found a very good owner for her.. Only hope she gets better.
The other dog that we collected last night, we will send her for grooming tomorrow... she is pretty small. But she do bark quite a bit. I think not so good for you. She is so cute and unique... her looks and colour. One of our fosterer will foster her.
keep me updated on your adoption ya...

Hi Molly - was there on Sat around 3.20 pm. Was a bit in a hurry because of the drizzle. BTW - who is the Chinese Uncle there. He seems to be very dedicated to the centre despite of his age .....

Will probably drop by again this weekend

Re: [elkoay] Puppy to let go [In reply to] Can't Post

The maltese ( pure maltese but the larger size ones) is very handsome but he is snappy. He is also barkish. He seems to like man more than ladies. If you know of anyone who want to adopt him, please let me know.... but he is snappy ya. He loves to be cuddle but a bit 'tau hong' ... will suddenly snap. If someone wants a nice looking dog that walks around the house and a watch dog and dont mind not patting him daily, then he is fine. On his own, he is ok.. friendly with other dogs too. Dont like taking baths and dont like grooming. So he is send to the groomer monthly. Other than tat, a quick groom daily... is ok. Can sit, shake hand and really adorable.

Re: [mbless] Puppy to let go [In reply to] Can't Post

Hi Molly. Thank you for the offer. But is it true that the dog's behaviour will be slightly changed after been spayed or neutered.

My brother in law used to have a mixed chi hua hua, who is very alert & have good self confidence. But after been spayed, the character changed to be a bit timid & always being bullied by others. And the changes made us felt bad for her. Your professional opinion, please .

BTW - can I see the picture of the small terrier & how much do I need to pay.

While I am still sad for loosing my Tenterfield Terrier (as informed you the other day), my the other Spitz ( around 12 years old ) is getting more attention & closer to me. But, unfortunately, she has slowed down a lot & not as active as before. She gets tired easily when I take her out for my routine walk around neighbourhood which covers aprox 3.5 km - Perhaps I need to shorten the route, so that she will not be too much stressed
