Vinoviruz,

I am looking for an indoor "guard" dog, I am considering a Mini Schnauzer or a JRT. can a JRT be socialised to another dog? what if they are both males? I have a male dog (bout 5 year old) adopted from SPCA, living in the house too.

Are they good with children?

and finally, are they trainable? thanks a lot Vin. appreciate it.

Are they good with children? jrts are individually different when it comes to children...pls be very careful when introducin children to jrts. most jrts can adapt well to children. but jrts are a little rough when it comes to playin though...but yet again...jrts cant tolerate any ear/tail pullin from children...nvr leave any child with a jrt unattented

and finally, are they trainable? both jrt & a child can be trained to get along...teach children to appreciate & luv their doggies...& in return, ur jrts will luv & protect ur children. i would suggest u to get a book on jrt itself...most books will guide u on how to keep the hierrachy level in jrts & children. this is a very important aspect if ur plannin to co-inhibit jrts & ur children together thanks a lot Vin. appreciate it. im very sorry to give such a late reply as i seldom visit this forum ade...if thr any other help u need can email me directly vinoviruz@g.m.a.i.l.c.o.m cheers mate

Hi there,

You seem to know alot about jrt and thanks for all ur info about jrt in the email thread since last time. :) I'm actually wanting to get a jtr myself but i already have a miniature schnauzer at home. I'm afraid jrt will give me headache when i'm not at home. Any advice ?

btw, do you have any recommendations of which pet shop or breeder to get nice jrt (hopefully with cheaper price) ? I'm from Penang and i went to a few shops, they dont seem to have any jrt at the moment. Reason given as they're too hyper active and not alot of ppl want to rear this breed. I heard mainland has got quite a number of breeders ..but not sure where..

any idea ?

Thanks.

Rgds,

ew
