Puppy Vomitting Can't Post

Hi there,

Anyone experience this before? Fetched my puppy poodle from boarding last nite. At first she was barking excitedly and very active when she saw me but the nx thing i see is her vomitting (yellowish bile). The pet shop owner told me they had js fed her and it could be that she was overexcited too soon after eating. All the way home, she js lie on my lap, no energy at all and very quiet.

When we reach home, she vomitted again after drinking water. I notice that she vomitted every time she drank water. Then she js lie on the floor the whole nite and no appetite even when i tempted her with her fave treat.

This morning she was better, no more vomitting but she didnt finish her breakfast. Her poo was soft and watery too. Still not much energy. Thinking of bringing her to vet after work today (went home to check on her a few times already to make sure she's not getting worse). Is it really jumping around too much too soon after eating, car sickness or there's really a cause for concern?

So worried about her. It's not normal for my baby to be so inactive.

Re: [wibbly] Puppy Vomitting [In reply to] Can't Post

hi,

soemtimes, if the puppy jump or play too hard right after meal, they might vomit...but this type of vomitting, you can see it is very smooth...normally right after that, they are okay...unlike if they vomit if they are sick...you can see that they won feel good wan....

from ur description, since u mentioned that ur pup is vomitting yellowish bile...i think she might has stomach discomfort...might have eaten somethg not rite...or would it be that the pet shop fed her a totally different type of kibbles than the one u normally fed her with? i'l advise you to take her to the vet...

and for ur info, this disease can cause a doggie to die in 2 days. My vet told me if the doggie can survived through 10 days, he/she is safe. Today i suppose to bring my doggie to another checkup which is on the 3rd day but unfortunately, i cant make it. He already left me...

Erm no but this sure caused by bacterias. This disease started 2 weeks ago cuz of the weather these days. Imbalance and kinda weird. Mostly doggie under 1 yrs old may caught this disease. And juz 50%!! chance to survive. Actually i thought my Oreo ate sumthing dirty but no, the vet told me its cuz of the virus in the air. This disease is spreaded through the air...so pls becareful.

Re: [kChy] Puppy Vomitting [In reply to] Can't Post

I left Hugo at home under the care of my bf's bro, Sunday night i came back home and he looks normal. The next morning he puke some watery bubble after biting the flowers from the front yard. After breakfast the poo was a bit watery. But he is still very active and running around happily. In the afternoon after playing for a while he puke his breakfast out. The poo was normal in the afternoon but watery at night after dinner. Up till now he hasn't puke, and still very active...

Is this the sign of catching the deadly virus? I shall bring him to the vet tonight....

Hi Jessica,

Coffee was back to her old self again when i got home from work yesterday evening. Super hyperactive like the energiser rabbit, no more vomitting, poo back to normal and gobbling up everything in her food bowl.

Maybe i wont send her back to the same place for boarding anymore. Js have a nagging feeling that she wasn't treated well there. Anyone can recommend a good and trustworthy boarding & grooming place in Butterworth or Penang?

Jessica,

Don't think i can name the place here but it's in Taman Bagan, Butterworth. Maybe u can guess which one it is. Do you know anyone who has tried there also? Also i dun have any proof that they mistreated her, maybe Coffee was js not used to the new place and kibbles. It was also the first time i sent Coffee for grooming coz wanted to wait for her to finish her vaccinations first. I sent her to the same place.

kChy,

Oreo must not have finished his vaccinations? Coz one of the vaccines is for canine parvovirus, right? So unfortunate.

She finish her jabs already. 5 months old.

Actually i went to check out the place before i send her there and i found them really frenly and they like the furkids too. They also showed me the boarding area etc. Maybe i'm js a paranoid 'parent' Tongue as Coffee is my first puppy. As i said before, puppies being so young are susceptible to all kinds of upset js like small kids, so.....i'll still give that place a second chance but exercise some caution. It'll be so unfair and bad for me to tarnish their reputation and then it turn out they were not at fault. All of us cant be wrong about that place, right?

hi

yeah...i agree....cant really put a judgement so soon...yup..i think all of us are referring to the same place...but i went there once...a few mths back..brought my shih tzu there for a bath...well....they din really dry up my baby properly lo...

so after dat, i din bring my girls there for bathing anymore...

but i would say they sell jerhigh cheap lo...and the shop very clean..went there the other day to buy jerhigh..so a few puppies for sale...so cute la...mostly shih tzu and poodle...

how much is the boarding there? did u ask wat kibbles they feed coffee? sometimes is because of the sudden chg of kibbles lo...

the shop at raja uda chrged RM20 for boarding...
