1. No, depends on your pedigree 2. One eventually 3. No 4. No, and depends on your pedigree & may do so 5. As much as possible 6. No 7. Yes very much so
Advise: With your schedule this breed is not for you. plus if you are serious about owning a dog, any breed, you better change your "Name" no one will take you seriously, I am not but I am also not letting you spoil the breed later when you have trouble.
sorry to you PSY, not to offend you. tried to change my nickname but couldn't its fix.. this nickname i've been using since i'm a teenager. what worried me about this breed is that its out of control and bite some one. bite me its ok if he manage to bite others than i'm in real trouble...
Need not apologise, just pointing out why I did not answer your enquiry directly but thru the forum. Still feel you should change. A temperament of a dog is from the breeding so a rule of thumb, be prepare to spend 3K at least and you should not go far wrong.
This is to PSY. I am trying to find a home for a 2 year old neutered Dobie male. Nice looking dog but there is a long story as why he needs a home. Can you help? I would be happy to share the details of his life with you by email.

When I go to Heaven, if there are no dogs and horses there, then I want to go where they go!
dear psy, (i address this to you as you are a breeder and trainer with tons of experience and knowledge with dobe, hope you may answer this problem)
during this long holiday, been having a look at doberman puppies there way adorable to the MAX ! =) cute and yet macho at a young age ! but after seeing so much puppies from breeders to pet store 4 out of 5 puppies has these skin prob that doesn't look pleasant.
most of their skin have these "corn" like on human, small patch like dead skin and hard surface. I thought it would be at the joint aread but i was wrong, joint area have plentyful but even the back and the hips of the puppies has it too.
i am just wondering what on earth are those and how those poor puppy got it ?
the part i am even worried is that what if in the future i bought a puppy with new coat skin and turn into those "corn" hard surface dead skin look alike on pupppy or even other dobe owners that would be very unpleasant and sad case.
representing all dobe owners or future dobe owners how to address this prob or what would be cause of it ?
Well, I think Redgate Kennel has answered your questions, you must know where to go. The number of dobes you have seen that have "skin issue", I can assured you I can find juat twice the number that has no issue with it's skin.
i have my dob since feb.. and i should have to do some research.. i got my dob with "blue" breed.. which later come to me that the "blue" always with some skin prob...
his skin prb always come and go.. with some red spots like pimples...not sure becoz of the food or some other things or the gin. i am using pro plan lamb and rice.. any ideas from the experts here? please give me some advises. im thinking of blackwood lamb and rice. is this good for dob?
or becoz the shampoo i used?
also, my dob also with ear cropped since young. but the ears were not as erect as other dob. some times stand up nicely, sometimes not. can still do something on it??
Blue dobs are prone to skin issues, there is not a lot you can do but put up with it. You should have done more research before taking it. If the breeder is a proper breeder he should and must have warn you about blue dobs. There is nothing wrong with the food you have mentioned, nothing wrong with the keeble, your dog just have sensitive skin.
Thanks. and u r right, there is nothing much i can do. just put more care lor.
the Iresponsible breeder didnt warn me any, if yes, i would not take it, but look for one good one. my dob, gorden has been with me for 7 months, and the relationship has been building up.
so, your suggestion is that i do not need to change the food? really nothing can do?
The brands you have listed are good so fairly certain it is not the food beside it is a well known fact that blues have very sensitive skin. Maybe keep it out of the sun may help.
