Ya, he is a very careful gentleman, and he is into european dobs and he breeds them with proper research. Actually, it all depends what you are looking for, I tend to go American/South American dobs, I think they are more refine... in particular South American dobs.

Re: [Anderson] egnck [In reply to] Can't Post

Anderson,

Doberman is originated from German....Louis Dobermann (tax collector). And, the breed was later defined by another person, can't recall his name.

What PSY said about American and European breeds.........example: American Chinese (ABC - American Born Chinese) and Malaysian Chinese (Malaysian Born Chinese)....understand what I mean?

American And European has its own distinctive characteristic but I am not sure about the differences.

Correctly me if I am wrong...American line is bigger in size??

Yes, they originated from Germany however if you recall your history, the Nazis over ran South America in the second world war plus there were also dobs in America in the early 1900's. The breed was refined after Doberman.... think it was Goeller, thihler and krum... something or rather.

PSY,

I think I saw the name of Goeller before.

I bought a pack of Pro Plan Lamb & Rice few days ago, I discovered a bug inside feeding tray but did not alarmed about it. I feed my dogs just now, and saw more bugs come out from kibbles. After investigation, I found out pro plan is infected with bugs and larvae also. What should I do about it?? Get a refund from the pet shop? or exchange? The expired day is 2010.

Guys, Any advice? Should I stop feeding my dogs immediately?

Take the bag back to the shop and exchamge it. If they refuse get Pro- Plan number.... not sure who is the importer. Worse come to the worse go on-line and let Pro-Plan US know about it.

Hi Everyone :) [In reply to] Can't Post

Back after a long break

Slow web pages are my weakness....I can't handle them. Since it has been so long, I wanted to share something and had to be patience for 20min today to get into here. Mad Still slow eh..hangs….refresh…page with error..cant open ….bla bla bla

Anyways, nice to read all your postings. Vic…Rolex is amazing at Cyberjaya. I’m jealous I can’t do that with Max Frown
Well…he passed his obedience training but not up to my expectation. Perhaps I expected something more than they could actually offer Unimpressed

I thought Max will be like Rolex & PSY’s dobes Tongue Calm and quiet…but hell NO! Maximus takes command….he sits, he stay, he know wat is NO, he recalls, he down. THAT’S ALL!

Remember how aggressive he was when I took him to the Dog Day? Unsure He is still the same when coming across cats, other stray dogs, bicyclers, and some pedestrians that he doesn’t like. The trainer told us to use NO command and choke…Come on…I cant be doing that all the time I take him for a walk am I? Or is that how training should be?

I’m not so strong and Max doesn’t bother when I choke him. I was very embarrassed once when he acted that way until a motorbike rider almost fall coz he got scared with Max behavior. I was struggling with him of course. That fella thought I gonna let him go...but no la...I manage to calm him down but I hurt my hands coz he was harsh when I tried to choke him Pirate....That was the last time I took him for a walk. If Sara is busy….too bad la...no walk for Max. I fail to handle him…

I was so sad and badly wanted to fix appointment with PSY immediately and get his consultation. But we thought of giving Max a little break. Let him enjoy his childhood and we will train him at 1 ½ years old…where I think he will be lesser playful. Budget matters too…

Rest of the matters...Maximus and Rocky are doing great. I spend more time at the porch and Sara parks his car outside so that the boys will have bigger space to run around

Last 20 pictures are their latest...enjoy and keep in touch

Re: [Shela] Hi Everyone :) [In reply to] Can't Post

Hi Shela,

Long time no see huh!! Just finished watching Max's latest photos...Max is a Man now, no more baby face anymore...haha. I think the best way to control unwanted behaviour like excessive barking, digging, pee at wrong place, eat wrong items............is using remote e-collar. Sometime, I just watching tv and let Rolex playing in the parking area...and just nick the romote controller if i found unwanted behaviours.....so easy....haha

Ofcourse, remote e-collar is made in USA and not cheap lah.........and u need to learn some basic skills before using it, otherwise, it will demoralised your dog.

FYI, Proplan is distributed by Nestle. I sent an email of my problem to them last night and they call me this morning and they are very serious about the bugs infested dog food. I guess the problem started after they changed their formula to shredded blend. They will come over to my house to replace it. Will keep you guys posted on the Proplan issue.

Shela, Sorry for not asking your permission before using your photos.

Max is jumping!!!!!!!!!!

Hi Everybody, nice to meet you all here. [In reply to] Can't Post

Hello everybody, I am new here. After a thorough research , I decide to get a doberman puppy :) . But I find it a bit difficult to get the doberman breeder, especially new Ipoh (where I am living).
Could you all please introduce some to me? I don't mind if the breeder is from other state as I can travel to get the dobie. I am looking for black male doberman puppy with MKA. I need it as pet and guard purpose.

Thank you very much in advance. Good day.

Food for Max [In reply to] Can't Post

Hi Everyone,

Max turned 1 last month and as per the Puppy ProPlan instruction on the bag, I changed to Adult Pro Plan Lambrice formula.

Been 1 month, Max purging (very very watery) Unsure , his fur dropping alot (can see thru his skin here and there) and we assume the Adult Proplan is not suitable for him. Not so sure...please advice

Meantime, Im taking Max to Vet today to see if he is sick due to something else? No sick sign...he is normal happy puppy now but not sure if he is hiding his pain or something

Please recommend which Brand I should try. My Vet...as usual ...promoting Science Plan and my pet shop promoting Origen RM290 15kg pack ....too expensive la.

Any other brand suitable for doberman? Remember that Max is allergic to Chicken and he likes Lamb

Thanks

Hi Shela,

Stick to Pro-Plan or Sportsman Pride. Do not go for that brand you mentioned, nothing good to say about it. As for max problem, do not have your e-mail as the old one keeps coming back, do e-mail me for infor on that, I too have a similiar problem from time to time.

Re: [Vic Tea] Food for Max [In reply to] Can't Post

NutriEdge was the last one I tried and it didn't work on Max. He was still purging. Not sure about others.

BTW, Science Plan Lamb Rice Adult Large Breed SAVED OUR DAY Frown

Not only Max enjoys munching it but he didn't purge even the next day.

His stools were light brown!!! (usually its very dark. Only when he eat home cooked food, his stools will be light brown Smile), medium soft stools and he poo only once a day...after dinner. All this while he will Poo the night after dinner, early morning befoe I go to work and before his dinner. Unsure

Now I dont have to worry about washing my porch 3 times a day! Frown

I think his body is absorbing the nutrients quite well. Don't think want to change it anymore.
