Teaching Rolex to bark on command! I used "Guard" as the barking command! So far so good, as long as I have chicken necks on me...haha

Hi Vic...Finally Im back after all the holidays and pending works at office Unsure

Hey Vic...THANK YOU so much for being such a nice person to help me out with Max the other day. I almost wanted to go home Crazy.....Rolex was being such a sport too...he made my boy feel comfortable to approach other dogs.

We found our choke chain later ....inside the same bag! hahaha...I think Max panicked me with his sudden aggressive attitude & I fail to find it. When you offered ur extra chain...we were more than pleased. Smile

Finally...Max manage to adapt his surroundings uh? Well, its his 1st time...

Yes Vic...Max going for training next Month or maybe on January. Busy with other commitments that involves cash at the moment Unsure.

This is their web page: http://www.my-pet.com.my

With RM1700.00, I get his food supplied, complete grooming, complete training (except advance guarding) and 1 year free membership to use the ground for his exercise (once a week). The ground has all the exercise tools la....jump...tunnel...rope....skip...search....etc

At first I was shocked with the amount but to think about it...ok la. Max has no place to run and exercise....so this place is can burn his fats into muscles la. Also saves my petrol & tol from traveling far.

I will meet this gentleman first coz I talk to him only over the phone. I may supply my own food and looking for price reduction from there. Max fully recovered from food allergy. His coat is shining now. I dowan to see him suffer again.

Oh. I know the place. I went there to enquire about doberman before I owned Rolex. They have a lot of GSD and Rottie for sale but no doberman.

Their compound is very big and it is near to your house. Good for u!! Keep me posted on Max's progress.

Hi Vic, Thanks for your concerned. Super left arm recovering slowly, currently not allow him to run here n there.

Now Super is about 9 months old, I am planning to DIY some bar and steep stair for exercise purposes. what do you think? of cause after his left arm 100% recover first.

I believe strong muscle will lesser the change of injury for Super.

Thanks a lot, but I am not familiar in welding Blush will build wooden type as wood is much cheaper.

Now I am happy that Super's left arm has recovered, he's active again n "samseng" as usual.

And his catching technic has improved tremendously since I started the 'throw & catch' training 2 weeks ago (twice a week).

I used dog biscuit to draw this attention and it works. During the first week of training, he managed to catch 1 out 10. And today he can catch 10/10 even its at night.....

What abt Rolex? How is he progressing?

I am planning to build a jumping bar by using PVC tube which I think the cheapest.

I also thinking to train Super attacking skill instead of bark, the most effective way to tackle the intruder .... but maybe later.... Frown

Me too will update the progress, if I am free...Frown

Re: [Shela] Maximus @ Picasa [In reply to] Can't Post

It is very easy to train to catch.

1) Make sure your dog is hungry!! (very important)

2) Throw treats into air and near to dog's mouth.

3) Use your body or leg to block the treat if the treat fail on the floor.

4) Pick up the treat and throw again.

The trick is to make sure the dog do not eat treat from the floor.

Practise couple times....Max will have the idea.....no treat if he did not catch it.

She La:
Before you train Max catch skill, show him the treat, let him sniff (especially his favorite flavor) yum yum.....
then command Max to sit, you then step backward 1 step or 2..... say "catch" then throw......

Vic,
I think doberman reaction is faster then human leh.... how to block and step on the treatTongue

hehehehe...thanks guys. Will try it....

Hey anyways, did I told you all that I've bought a Mini Pinscher few weeks ago for Max to play with Tongue

Yea...its a wrong size but I love the Doberman look in MinPins.

They are playing quite well so far...Max always handle him with care (he moves slower and always give away toys in case the small fella barks for it) and I make sure to supervise them whenever they play.

I named him Rocky

Sad news on STAR [In reply to] Can't Post

Hi Everyone,

Max ears are perfect now.

Max not feelign well. He got lumps on his throat Frown and lost appetite past 6 days. Im feeding him like how we feed babies who refuse to eat. Manja manja him...take him for walk...while feeding him. Then he is ok...He is on medication and Dr. Thomas said its quite common Unsure sob sob...Sumtimes he is very quiet and sleeps and sumtimes he is active...so I assume he is recovering la....He got his blood checked. Doc gave a jab, antibiotics, Iron pills, pills for liver and appetite pills for 1 week consumption...all RM120 only...phew..

It's my mistake la....i gave him lamb meat raw...and I think the bacteria was delivered from there. Next time will soak it in hot water first.

Oh btw...I wanna share this news and I really hope this female dob will make it thru...

Shela,

Congratulation on Max's ears!!!

Poor dobe, I hope she will recover soon.

My Rolex's back left leg hv skin problem.. It happen after i gave frontline spot-on (spot on the neck), I am not sure whether the skin problem was caused by frontline or not..Unsure. but he is recovering now. I had also stop giving Rolex cheese, hotdog, and chicken necks as treat for a while.

Can you post photo of the "new look" Max here?

By the way, Merry X'mas and Happy 2009 to all the doggie friends here!

Dont worry Shela, Max sure will recover.

Vic, try olive oil, because when Super having skin problem, I apply on Super and I can say 100% work Frown
I dont think chicken neck, cheese and hotdog is the cause for this problem.

2 weeks ago I sent Super to the Vet due to his hip problem, Vet said it might be Hip Dysplasia. Lucky now its recover. What the vet give is the pain killer and Glocusamine, the price really killing me Crazy
