Pugs in the water, bubble bath & sarongs…. Oh Pugs, our very first picnic!!! All’s excited especially Julie who can’t wait for us to see what she has so told us so much about. We’ve been talking about doing a day picnic outing since last year but we couldn’t find the ideal location, all we know was that we want it to be in a cool place. Well, Serendah turned out to be ideal & kewl in the other sense. Lotsa space for the puggies to run around off leash, available toilets, running water… Welcome – to new PSquaders Julie, Mark & Pingpong; Brandon, Engu & Frisco; Yit Tyng, Chong & Shadow. Guests Gillian, Daniel & their 2 masters & Freedie & lil Chili. Hope to see you guys in our next gathering. Regular PSquaders, Jason & Yoda Jr with their guest, Winnie; Harn Ni & Rusty; May, maid, lil Jason & Blondee & Jasper; Wern Nee, Puggy & Spiky; Tina with Paris; Chan with Benny & Bobby; Fern, Chua & Yoda Sr & Mei; myself with Pinky & Baby. Journey – not too bad, just over an 1hr & not difficult to find although the house numbering got many of us confused. The Place – nice bungalow with plenty of surrounding gardens, patios, a bridge, a series of linked fish pond ending in a 2’ x 3’ x 5’ rectangular stoned-paved pond. In fact, there was another group of Julie’s parents’ having their potluck & we didn’t even know they were there if not 1 or 2 of them came wandering over to our side to see our masters. Pugs in the water – as it was a hot hot hot day & HRH Pinky was starting to do her heart attack/asthma drama, I herded them to the cold spring water-filled pond for a cooling dip. I rolled up my pants, stepped into the brrr brrr cold water & one by one put the masters into the water. The expressions on their faces are really priceless & they weren’t about to swim around, thank you very much, so ALL of them gave us their best puppy dog look whilst standing up & hanging onto 1 end of the pond & even jostling for space. See pics. One or 2 did do some puggy paddling with some help. After some cooling down, they were helped out & since it was so hot, we let them dry out themselves. Lunch – call was made & we adjourned to another exterior part of the house for mee rebus . Over here we could then see the other group which was having their do on the front porch. Waterfall trek – after lunch, we gathered up masters & slaves & off we went to the mini waterfall within short walking distance from the house. There was a gazebo at the bottom of the waterfall but to access the waterfall one had to climb down from here. Daniel was the first to go down & I handed HRH Pinky to him to get another cooling down as she was into Act 2 of her drama. Not all went down just some energised ones like Brandon, Engu with Frisco. Lil Jason, Daniel’s master Mon, then May with Blondee. The rest stayed up getting toasted . We had our group pic taken here. Masters bathing time – most of us bathed our masters outdoor after the water activities & also to cool them off again. It was a nice change not to have to towel dry my 2 gals. Some did it at the pond area, some near the patio we were gathering. We had to take turns of course. Early leavers – Brandon, Engu & Frisco, Yit Tyng, Chong & Shadow, Daniel, Gillian & their 2 masters, Fern, Chua & Yoda Sr & Mei, left mid-afternoon but the die-hards stayed back. Bubble bath soak – Maggie, Julie’s mom, our hostess encouraged us to soak in the pond now refilled with another round of cold spring water. For those without swimsuit or too bashful to wear one, sarongs were provided so there was no excuse not to go soak. Bubble bath added & foamed & we were ready. Although it was cold , HN, Tina, Wern (with much persuasion) & myself braved it & we were sure glad we did. Julie joined us later. Our masters were around us, lying on the tubside & Pingpong thought he could walk on water trying to follow his slave. But with 1 front paw suddenly sinking, he changed his mind. To top this off, Maggie even served us bubur cha-cha at tubside! Oh pugs, this is the life! Whilst we were soaking, the others were spread out on the lawn under some trees probably gossiping about us. Outdoor shower – once we were pruny enough, it was time for clean-up & Maggie insisted that we must try the shower outdoor just next to the tub cos it’s chlorine free. HN & Wern took the first round, followed by myself & Tina. Lots & lots of giggling & screaming were heard as sarong-wearing-greenhorns like ourselves (HN & I) didn’t know how to shower with one on . Not helping matters, Jason came around with his spy-camera hoping to catch some ‘exposures’ . Next we heard Chan’s voice & we were searching his spying spot . The hosts even provided shower gel, shampoo & conditioner. At one stage, Tina was holding up my sarong so I could get cleaned up properly & I even ducked right under it, giggling like crazy. Needless to say, the one having the most problem keeping the sarong UP was me! (hmmmm must remember to bring halters next time). Birthdays – after we were all nicely cleaned up, changed & taken a breather, we did our monthly birthday cake cutting. We had a lovely butter cake done by Jason & HN for Chan (13th/1) & a chiffon cake for Pinky (1st/1) Baby (14th/1). PS’s official candle blower was down for the count so he missed this round. Dinner – we finally left Serendah to go to Ulu Yam for dinner at 6pm. What a day – fed & tired, we left for KL/PJ, arriving home at 8.30pm or so after a really wonderful picnic & gathering. Our sincerest appreciation & thanks to Julie, Mark & her parents for their generosity in hosting us (lunch & bubur cha2 were on them). We just hope we didn’t leave behind too many ‘souvenirs’ & will be allowed back. Enjoyed-most-award – goes to Lil Jason, having a really great time at the waterfall, the pond, the outdoor shower & all over. He sure spent an awful long time playing under the outdoor shower, turning it on & off & screaming for joy each time. That rascal caught me once with the shower when I was passing right under it! Biggest-pug-award – goes without contention, to PINGPONG!!! The big bro, the grumpy old man, the chow-pug, the clumsy clod… Post-drama news – Chan informed me that he noticed Bobby’s poo was unusually larger in size than normal & that his hind areas (including the bolas) were all reddish. Now, this ain’t much of a mystery seeing that Yoda Jr & Pingpong were so ardently ‘courting’ Bobby the whole day & Tina did mention that she witnessed some actual errr errr errr xxx-rated stuff on the stairs beside the patio!!!! Poor Chan & Bobby, traumatised & may need physiatric help. You can always send the bill to Jason. PS Mama’s Lesson in Life: Trying to keep a sarong up with 2 fried eggs for tops is a real SLIP OFF!!!! For those who were errrrr errrrr accidentally exposed to this sight, I sincerely apologise for your nightmare . Lastly, please do not tell me who you are, it’s only kind to leave me with whatever shred of dignity I have left. cheerio, til the next PSG sally pug rules!
