Dear All, Looking Back: pug has come full circle! (A bit of history here, yes yes I’m long winded as usual but isn’t it good to see how far we’ve come?) It was in October 2003 (18th) that we had our first gathering at Ange’s, who was ‘brave’ enough then to offer her humble abode to kick-start PS. You know how it is in the beginning when we each don’t know each at all, so it’s lotsa talk about gathering but noone was yet willing to offer their home to be invaded by a bunch of strangers with their pugs! Ange was the one who said ‘I offer my house for the gathering. I stay in Bandar Sunway, opposite Sunway Pyramid. Errrr...I do not have a BBQ pit. Eat beehoon can ah? Ok lah...my house is not the big bungalow type one..it's a 2-storey terrace, so I hope it can accomodate everyone. If everything's ok, I'll post my address here.’ Posted 25/8/03. & that was how PS’s gatherings & bonding got started. Once we saw how fun it was especially for our masters, there was not much problem thereafter to get those PS with houses to host, although we must say here that these PS are few ah & we’re waiting eagerly for those PS to get their houses next year (Tina & Jerome, Wern & Marcus, for example) . Along the way, we had 2 hiccups as this should be our 12th PSG but I think we’ve kinda steadied down now & have been successful so far to have a gathering each month. Jason, Ainey, Harn Ni, Ange, D’Jazmeee (& myself), we’ve come full circle. Arrivals: Ok lah, now back to the 10th PSG. We were lucky as it rained in the very early afternoon & it cooled down the nite just nice for our masters (although it did drizzled a bit lah in the earlier part of the nite). Wern was (again) the first to arrive with Puggy & a shorn Spiky . Ainey & myself together with our gals were next followed by May, her entourage & BBC. Then Connie & Simon with Gobi only, followed by Harn Ni & SiTerrorist, next came Lisa, Mike with Ah Yoke & Ivan with Jessie (a mix pug) & his GSD. Casey, Pey Chin & Harly came next & very last to come was Jason with Yoda & oh my, he sure paid for this ler . Ange’s & Jazmeee’s friends, John & Reggie with her Isabel (mixed shih tzu) & mixed Rotti-Lab were also there & our hosts also had other friends who came to take a look at the ‘pug party’ & they stayed outside but when the masters moved outside (after the rain), one of them had to be ‘relocated’ outside the gate with her plate of food as she was afraid of our ‘gangsters’. Makan: We started off with a small menu this time (as May kept groaning ‘so pathetic’ ) but as usual lah PS too greedy to resist adding to it. In the end we ended up with 2 xtra ducks (from Ange/Chong & Chan) . Must say tho that these xtra duckeys did help a bit from our; - fried meehoon – 2 big trays, habisssss (May) - char siew – the most popular item (courtesy of Chan) - mini yams & devil’s horns - traditional mooncake festival offerings (courtesy of SE & Ainey) - mooncakes (courtesy of Lisa/Mike) - watermelon & honeydew (Wern) - drinks (Ange/Jazmee) - 2 btls red wine & Chinese tea (courtesy of Chan) - slaves’ bday cake for Jason & Ainey (Harn Ni) - masters’ bday cake for BB, Sookie & Blondee (Lisa) This time round, we managed to finish all the food except for the mini yams which were saved from being stuffed in May’s & Ainey’s mouths by Alim (May’s maid who tah paued them) . The masters’ bday cake as usual all gone, patiently fed to them by Connie (who seems to be ‘ordered’ to carry out this duty). The leftover slaves’ bday cake on the other hand had to be packed & ‘forced’ on Ainey, Sally, Jason & May . The char siew is yummy & as Jason was late, an appeal was made to save some for him but the unanimous decision was a big ‘NO!’ so Chan proceeded to sapu the last bits. Poor Jason, grumbling away when he tucked in later saying he was thinking about the char siew the whole time he was detained at the car workshop . Well he should consider himself lucky that there was still food left for him! Anointing of Yodeee: We ate, we chit chat, caught up with each other both masters & slaves. Max was after my hottie Baby, Blondee was scolding the GSD as if to say ‘eh, wat are you doing at our party, you don’t look like one of us!’ Yoda was still on his devoted mode wth SiBulat driving him to become SiTerrorist at times. It seems he was so devoted that ‘ain’t no river wide enough’ could keep him away. Jason, Ainey, Chong & myself were inside clearing up the table when we heard a big exclamation from outside followed by big hearty laughter. So we dropped everything & went out to see what the commotion was about. It seems Yoda dove into the fish pond outside , scaring the fishes, just to get to Rusty who was sitting on the wooden bench next to it (a retreat). Ange had to fish him out & his daddy was so embarrassed that he was speechless for a moment. Yodee was then hauled inside & given a few choice words by his daddy amidst some vigorous towelling ‘you had to make spectacle of yourself huh’. There must be something to be learnt from his ‘focussed’ devotion to whoever he sets his sights on (it was my Baby at the beginning, phew am I glad he’s over it!). By now some have left & lucky for Jason, not many witnessed his son’s brave attempt to qualify for the PS Diving Olympics . It seems he wanted to try it again later but was warned off! The poor fishes. Anointing of the slaves bday cake! Lil J has been PS’s candle blower & now he also wans to cut the cake so he was guided to do it & after making 1 cut, out lil member oh so conveniently tested the cake with his finger, again & again & again . Not satisfied with this, he then proceeded to sink his teeth into the yet to be cut cake, thus leaving a nice set of teethprints (picture pls). At the end: Another fun & drama-filled gathering. Tina, JD & bonsai Leeloo sorely missed as well as Fern, Chua & Yoda Sr. The Khoos, too. Musn’t forget our kind sponsors: - Ange & D’Jazmeee for offering their abode, the drinks & ice - Lisa & Mike for the Yook Woo Hin mooncakes. - Chan for the yummy char siew & roast duck & the red wine. - May for the lanterns (which we hung up but didn’t lit!!) & candles. - All others who contributed their effort in one way of the other. That’s all from the long-winded ps.mama & others please feel free lah to write also. Now we wait for those with the pics to insert them in the appropriate places. Sally pug rules!
