Well, this is a question I have all this while, but never had an answer for it..

If the dog's parent are from good line, is it 'assured' that thier litters will be good?

I mean like human, you can have both genius parents but thier kid might not be one you see... so how can you tell? Unimpressed

WinkHi Lisa,
Good question. The answer is no,you are not 'assured' but the likelyhood is you will get a good % that are good.
I have added you in msn messenger. care to discussLaugh

Hi Derrick,

So it's different from Human then... it's only likelyhood, but breeders are using "These are CHAMPIONS puppies... They are not the same.. and that's why we are charging you at RMXXXXX.XX...." and alot of ppl actually fall for that you know...

My MSN ar.. the stupid IT ppl here kinda like BAN us from using external MSN from work ler.. can only add contacts ppl within my own company.. some exchange server thingy lar.. so.. I won't be able to get online in MSN ler... Frown

Lisa, when a puppy is a few weeks old you cant really tell for sure how it'll turn out when it matures but some experience breeder can more or less tell whether they are show potential or pet quality pups.
If you get a pup that has champion parents that will tell you something about the line isn't it.
If you can ,take alook at the half bro/sis of the pup from a different litter and you can roughly know how the pup will turn out later.
That just my opinion. You can email me Cool

Re: [Riccaval] Cavalier King Charles Spaniel [In reply to] Can't Post

Yeah, Derrick, exactly, normal ppl like me, can't really tell how good it will turn out to be, it's all up to the breeder to feed you with all the information. If they intend to sell of thier pup, of course they'll tell you good things about thier pups (which might not be true at times). There's no way of telling.. even if they say, look at thier half sister or brother.. doesn't really guarantee anything actually... It somehow will only kinda 'assure' the new owner that your pup comes from good background.. but how it will eventually turns out.. no one knows..

hey lisa

not every puppy will turn out show potential. we are frank..if its pet quality we tell future pet owners that they are just that..for pets...no point in telling them that is show quality bla bla bla n stuff n charge expensive rite?..

bit like if u take to show already n its not nice dont u think ppl will first laugh at the breeder or something like that.

Also, how can you differentiate from a Pet Dog and a Show Dog?? When they are pups.. don't they all look the same??!!

erm show dog canot really really tell.....thats y u say its SHOW PoTTential loh!...

cant guarentee its definitly a show dog..this is erm not produce by factory where everything is clear cut loh...Smile how nice if it was that simple..

as long as the pups have required marking, well balanced...appears right in all parts (ehhe all this curi from dads judging tips!).....overall appearence of the dog ...have too look right...thats just it

also..not all show pottential pups turn out to be great show dogs loh...so.gift of nature...keeps you in suspence...

hope u understand wat im tryin to convey to u..Laugh

Yeah thanks! I've got that... your dad is an expert in this field.. no doubt on that.

It's the structure of the dog he once told me.... which is infact very true... Sly..

The judge should not be blinded by the shinning coat during show time as that can be fix with lots of chemical to achieve that results... but I believe being human.. more or less they will kena influence abit on that when they pass judgement... won't you agree? Sly

yups stucture the most important.

well IMHO, if i see 2 dogs that i like..as in structurrely all sound and i cant decide who to give...i might chose the one with the more 'chun' coat loh.....so yea it does influence judgement..maybe?...Crazy

i also erm..not expert so dunno lar..

apa itu IMHO?? Yeah.. that's why i heard.. but the fact is dog shows are pretty subjective ler.. depending on the judge how she or he wants to award or comment your dogs too... hhhmmpphh.. Sly
