Hi Guys, Been awhile since I last wrote in thread. I finally took a picture of my dog. Remember, some of you guys pointed me in the right direction? Well, thanks to all. The picture shows her at 10 months, and in the midst of changing her coat. The stacking could have been better, will try for a better picture next time. I entered her in the last two shows and she won best puppy in group for pastoral! Granted, she could have been better socialised then, as she created quite a ruckus at the show! Sorry to anyone if we offended them. Luckily the judge did not disqualify her. Still, our objective was for her to get use to such a surrounding. Didn't expect her to win. She is now enrolled for obedience training, which she is attending very diligently. After 3 classes, there is much improvement, she is no longer ticked off with other dog's presence. I have learnt quite a lot since I got her. Now looking to see if she can be taught more. Despite liking show dogs (ahem), I am also interested in preserving their workability. I have come to see there is a difference even in show dogs, depending on the bloodline. My dog is 5,5-4 Cello von der Romerau. In my observations of her, she has never backed down from a confrontation, and CNY fireworks right in front of her (nasty neighbourhood kids) did not faze her at all. She even went to investigate it! The true test is now for me to ascertain whether she can be schutzhund trained. Some questions: 1) Is 11 months too old to begin training? 2) Is there any formalized classes? 3) Will training alter her behaviour in the conformation ring? 4) I live in Puchong. Where can I attend such training? 5) Can she be titled (if she is good enough)? Hope that some one can advise. Thanks! Kendz GSDs Rule!
