Simchi,

Hahaha just spoke to my friend. He is keen but his wife says its already a handful with 2 cockers. Their dogs sleep with them. But my friend wants the dogs for his son, or so he says. Anyway, i'll wait for you no hurry.

It's actually a small koi pond but deep. So i think my beagle was struggling; good workout though. You did get my email add yes? Black lab or choc he said. Thanks a lot yeah.

Fine fine...its okay. Laugh as much as you want. Make fun of me...yes yes. Dont let me catch you doing something similar...or else! =)
So hows the pd trip?
You guys need me to organize one? Well I would definitely like to stay over but dont think any hotels/apartments would allow our fur friends.
So I guess it has to be a one day trip.
The question is, when and who?

Simchi,

Its quite subjective saying that labbies shed alot.
How do you define that?
When I brought hugo back 6 weeks ago, he was with thick coat. He shed off quite alot of hair after I changed his food to Science plan + bathing him 3 times aweek. Ive stopped bathing his that often and changed his diet to the holistic type..still not helping much.
He has very lil hair at the belly side and losing alot of hair on the armpit. Is that normal?
Any feedback on the rice + brown sugar thing?

Back to your question, Hugo was abit shy and timid at first. It was his first time seeing so many dogs at one go...tail down! got better later, tail up! but dont think he made any sniffing. Too young la!

Victor,

Hi. Maybe you're bathing your dog to many times a week. ideally once a fortnight but climate wise, once a week is sufficient. too many times and you take away the natural protective doggie oil. That's what i was told. Maybe you can try it.

Or perhaps food but then you've changed once already. BARF diet instead? I'm very very new to the BARF diet but i hear its good for canines.

Good luck.

There's many organisers coz all the lab owners volunteer to do their part but the trip didn't materialise mainly coz quite few of us were caught up with personal affairs. I knew I was bz and Chuck was bz and finally, our dear Simchi also bz and Marv, was........ummm...bz also lah. Natasha actually proposed we stay overnite coz she could get a suitable place that allows furkids. The agenda somemore include BBQ and all.... Otherwise, if that doesn't work out, we dun mind settling for daytrip.

Heyah Victor,

3 times a week is definitely way too much. You are no doubt, stripping away all his moisturising coating. I think it's quite natural for their armpit to be a bit bare...coz always rub against body mah!

Ummmmm.....I really wonder now....why brown sugar? Coz my mum-in-law taught us the same thing. I have being feeding R&K since they were young and welllll, their coat not bad at all. But then again, it may attributed to their considerably premium diet. But now, only R is on brown sugar that goes with her kibble and wet food. K is totally off coz of her weight. The saddest part was sometime when R finishes her food, K quickly ran over to her sis's bowl and licks up all the remaining brown sugar. She's sweet-tooth, I supposed. On top, do you know that my furkids love those milk sweet from China, the Big White Rabbit sweet? Sigh...my MIL spoils them rotten whenever she comes. Feed them non-stop.....

Yeah, have to agree that my K also sheds profusely. Her sis is much better. But their fur sure going places. It sounded disgusting but we believe we also ingested quite a number of their fur. And on doggy smell, I dun know about others but we dun mind. R smells quite ok coz she keeps herself clean and avoid water puddle or wet area. K, otherwise, tends to smell one kind after few days (after bath) coz she loves wet wet. And as both furkids wear those herbal lemony scented flea collars, that also help to diffuse a bit of the doggy smell.

Well, I'm also feeling a bit under the weather and the good doctor diagnosed flu. So, here I am, back at home with runny nose, sore throat and all. On the bright side, K&R are estatic to see me at home today. But I am as determined not to be beaten up by the flu bug, so-o, I hope to be a little bit better by noon and I would go out to walk walk, to get some sweat out.

Hey Sim,

I just got back from a leave. Needed a break from work and to settle oustanding domestic responsibilities long overdue. Yeah my staffie and mt brothers beagle. His male beagle is only 8 months and my female staffie is about 4 months but he tries to mount her all the time or otherwise they end up playing so rough i think they're fighting with all the growling. trying to get them to play nice but its not working. The kois are dad's.

Re labs, thanks, will wait for you. Take care and get well soon.

Hi i've replied your email already.

By the way, there was a typo. The last vaccine shot is actually due on 10 July.

Sigh, i think she's sick as per description in your email.

Not eating and vomiting but she still runs and plays. Should i feed her raw beef and chicken liver to perhaps strengthen her?

House dogs definitely cleaner and smell better than outdoor one. Both of mine are outdoor but spend a lot of time inside as well. We cordon a certain area of the house for them to mess up, hehehhe! Anyway, as for the flea collars, I do think their purpose is to keep furkids smelling nice and not so much to ward off ticks nor fleas.

Hugo finally got his 3rd jab yesterday! According to the doc he's really healthy..which is good news to me. Just to keep you guys updated at 3 months and 1 week now hes 12 kgs.

Another good news to is that Hugo has stopped shedding already..he still loses some hair but in small quantity hehe...Thanks guys! Think the bathing and food part did help.

Yes I know that rabbit sweet...with the edible wrapper rite? Havent had one of that for agesss..

Claire, Hugo is still young la...obviously wouldnt know how to sniff yet. Give it another couple of months..he'll be glued to your legs! hahaha. You managed to see billyboy at central park? Ive seen pictures of him...he looks nice. Got huge paws and chest...head is quite big too. Hugo's face not so big =)

Nancy, does the flea collar really works?

Hiya Victor,

So-o, little Hugo is finally the big man, yeah? I have to agree that the rite food sure help. Well, Kookee's allergy has almost disappear since she started on Eagle Pack few weeks back. Just to recap, Kookee has a bad breakout last 2 months after we changed her diet.

If one is the 70's or 80's baby, I'm sure everyone of us would have close encounter with the Big White Rabbit Sweet...yeah, that's the sweet with the edible rice wrapper. I fed them marshmallow few days back and they love it to bits.

Flea collars? Well, to a certain extent, I think they do keep the fleas and ticks at bay but what I like most is that they kept furkids smelling nice. Should you get one, try to get the herbal one, especially the lemony one.
