To tell you the truth, i am also looking for a good reliable nice shampoo for my doggie.... Say, if you have any good recommendation, please do let me know! I use to buy minty shampoo for my dog as i like the nice fresh smell after give her a bath... but everysince i enrolled her for obedient training, she starts to have 'kutu-kutu' which really worries me.... so now, i have no choice but to use medicated shampoo which i don't really like, but no choice.....

Hi Ashley,
If you are bathing your dog frequently, medicated shampoo is not so good ler....they tend to dry up the skin....if your sole purpose for the medicated shampoo is to control ticks, then it wud be better if you use a normal dog shampoo and at the same time use tick control products such as Frontline which you apply once a mth.

Recently i found quite alot of small little greeyish looking fleas on my dog. My dad uses the tick powder over my dog to control and kill these ticks.. is this recommended? I heard someone said by using somekind of onion oils could do the trick, is this true?

Jaz if ur dog got flea than u must do it early don't let them stay at ur home !!I face this big problem also! It make my all doggie include the small puppy also have !! i bring them to see Vet doctor!than he recomemded me use frontline ,is good!! may be u can try it!! Kill than early b4 ur whole house got flea!! u can buy from pet shop!!they will teach u how to use it!! Good lunck to u!! ~~~ AsHLeY ~~~

Gini my chihuahua from small i bought from pet shop she already kena skin problem than i been using two type of skin ahampoo also buy from Vet!! but still the body got white spot and the spot will make her no fur!! I so pitty her when i bath with her cos need to soak the shampoo around 10min! she last time got eat medicine but now a day i dowan give her take cos i pitty her always wan to eat medicine !What should i do ?? but i think is ok cos only got small white spot but i still love her !! ~~~ AsHLeY ~~~

Hie! I think i know which brand you are talking about. I actually bought it already, but from the instruction, it sounds kinda scary where the liquid is actually being put behind my dog's neck and it will sip into thier skins. Is this what you have been doing? safe?

U don't worry is safe cos i apply this to my puppy and the adult dog also!! u also can buy one type of product is more cheaper. U can use this product mix with water than mop all the floor and also ur furkid sleep place or u keep ur furkids place !! I not sure the acual name i just know it call TATIT !! the color like GingerBil and when mix with water it b'come white colour! U mop all ur house but keep away ur dog from ur home ok!! Thanks! but my dog stays in with me. We live in an apartment, so if i mop the floor, i can't keep away my dog from my house!! i think i'll just use the liquid thingy for my dog hope that this would kill off the fleas... really scarry you know. Also, my furkid vomited just liquid yesterday.. does that happen often to your furkid?

Jaz, i also stay at Apartment! U may be can try my way, u mop one room 1st than close the door n also the gap ( close with cloth). Than continue with orther! Don't mop the floor too dry let more wet more nice! The flea like to stay the wall's gap! so u can use mosquito spray to spray all the "small lubang" if u thing the problem not so serious can skip this!( i just give u a suggection!!) For than problem ur furkid vomited may be she/he didn't eat. like us we gastric also vomitted!so i think may be ur furkid hunry!Another thing is check ur furkid ear, see got any flea ! U can go to K9 pet shop or Vet ! U told them wan to use for kill flea name is Tatic!! u buy the small bottle is around RM10 !! very small bottled!! U can try and see !!Hope u can faster settled this problem !! ~~~ AsHLeY ~~~

Hi Ashley, no just recently since i brought my dog for Obedient Training every Sunday. Oh, my dog have big appetite, we feed her twice aday.. I have one Aust Silky Terrier. Stay in Greenlane Heights, Penang. Brought my dog from a Terrier Breeder from Taiping :). How about you?

HI Liza!I stay at Jelutong so can be say near to ur place! Did u ask Vet B4? Or did u divorm ur furkid? My house i got 3 chihuahua, one shitzu, one JRT!! The 3 chihuahua are belong to me. But the two are get from my friend cos his house got a lot og big size doggie so can't take care the small doggie. Than he ask me to take care for him! May be next year i will return to my friend cos no time to take care so many doggie!! High expenses also! U brought ur furkid from Tpg? how u know the breeder ? hello everyone,
since there are people here asking what kind of shampoo is good for your fur kids, i would like to share what i am using. i bought a shampoo and conditioner from a brand called The Professional Groomer. my pet shop (Sherithans Subang SS19) told me that this is imported brand something like the BioGroom one la but this brand is more economical (i think) as the bottle are larger than the one BioGroom have. The price for the shampoo and conditioner is RM 32 each (i thnk so, not more than RM 40 for sure) and i would say that the effect is superb as it gives my shih tzu wonderful smell well over a week. I normally bath my kid once a week but sometimes I am kinda lazy so maybe once in 2 weeks besides a visit to my pet shop for grooming at least once every month. I like the shampoo as the smell are long lasting for it contain aromatherapy essential oils (which i personally love very much!) and the conditioner really gives my doggie fur a softer texture (you can feel it after you dry up your dog).
if anyone of you found that your dog mouth smells, there is a candy (i forgot the brand!) which cost RM19.80 for 40 tables with Mint taste works wonderful as my shih tzu previously have this problem but not its just great to have her lick around some times (heheheheheeee.......). But mind you, my dog take some time to accomodate to the mint smell and i gotto force her to take it initially but now she would squat down and waiting for the candy whenever I show her the can.

Hi!! Tq for ur idea i will try to find it!! Buti not sure Penang can find this brand or not??I only use shampoo i did't use conditioner !! is it must use for my furkids?? My house only Shitzu is long hair, the other doggie is smooth coater so i not buying this for her!! the candy is for the mouth, than how about the fur around the face which we keep it short all the time. Did you went to the recent MKA Dog Show? The Terrier Dog Breeder was there and they brought thier Terrier there for competition as well. I knew about it through a friend, they stay near the Zoo. I bought it with a cert and now, i am cracking my head thinking how to change owndership??? I have paid for MKA membership fee but wonder is that all i need to do?? When i bought her, she was very healthy. Only recently after attending the training, she starts to have fleas and yesterday vommited 3 times...

Yeah me too! i am looking for a reliable shampoo brand for me Silky Terrier.. As you know, the most important part is to let her fur grow nice and long and now that she has fleas.. i am really puzzled to buy the right shampoo for her. There are so many range and type and i don't think I have ever come accross the brand that you mentioned in Penang. Can we get that at Pet's World in Megamall KL? But I'll visit the Pet Shop again to look for this brand. Thanks ya!

I think u r talking about ticks right? the greyish looking ones that crawl slowly and the body filled with blood? If it is, these are ticks....fleas are something like human kutu....they crawl and jump extremely fast....if it is indeed fleas then it's harder to get rid of compared to ticks....ticks will most likely crawl and breed on your walls and in between cracks wherelse fleas will lay eggs all over the fabric in your house eg. carpets, beddings, rugs, etc....

Hey, what did the vet say are the white spots? fungus growth? Well my dog had a skin disease as well last time called mange...when he had mange he also had some fungus on him which is very common with association to mange....I too had to bathe him with a medicated shampoo which is called Malaseeb...soaked for 10 to 15 mins then rinse off.

I didn't attend the show, but thank for u! Jaz u better bring her go to see doctor before what will happen to her!! I think u better use the frontline every 3 month to prevent the other puppy's flea jump to ur furkid body! Is ok we apply this to them to prevent the flea! I read from the web the flea is got season so my house kena the flea is also the season coming! so now is no more lia, but i will mop the floor by using the liquid, prevent it come again !! ~~~ AsHLeY ~~~

The Vet only give her eat anti-biotic and some medicine for the skin! n also keep on using the shampoo! I donow what the name , but i think no fungus. it just white spots on the skin and it is without fur loh! the shampoo name i will let u know by tomorow ok!! i stop give her eat medicine cos i pitty to her! from 3 month eat until 4 month! From that time i dowan buy any pet from Pet Shop! I prefer breeder! ~~~ AsHLeY ~~~

Perhaps you can let your furkid try wearing E-collar or those Victorian Collars to prevent them from licking or touching those infected skin... maybe that would help since i notice that dogs like to lick themselves off!
