Hi! I'm new to this website but read thru some real interesting "doggy" talk on issues and suggestions. I have a dilemma which I would like to put it to the floor.
I will be bringing my promeranian back from Beijing in a couple of months time. My family has to stay in our Condo at Montkiara until end of the year while awaiting the completion of our house. I have found a boarding kennel at Sungei Buluh which looks pretty decent ie compound to run around in etc. My preference however would be to for him to stay with a dog loving family for a few months ( may be asking too much but never know unless try..!). He's a real good looking prom and maybe if someone has a female prom and would like to propogate a prom family...
hi i am willing to take in your pom for a few month at the cost of Rm300 as you stated. This include food and logging. How long you would like him to stay with me... During thayt time, you are welcome to visit him as you like.. I have a female dog and they can be friend When he is living with us, he will stay inside the house.
Do contact me asap so i can make arrangement to make sure he will be in comfort and happy when living with us...

wah good also hor.. so if next time i need bording for my dog can ah?? usually for 2 nights maximum lah.. 2 american cockers. very friendly wan.. ok with all dogs so far lah.. they can stay outside house as long as protected from rain and shine. I will even bring over a 4ft cage to house them. food will bring my own cos they got sensitive skin issue wan. eat wrong food i die lah... how much is charge per dog per night ah??

I will be going on biz trip shortly for whole week but can stay in contact via my email which has been given to you earlier. I will also ask my better half to contact you to provide details on Qiao Qiao. My family's expected to fly into KL early July and qiao qiao will need to undergo a period of quarantine. My family will certainly be happy to heard he's go a real home to for time being, not to mentioned a female friend as well!
Good to prepare all the necessary things before hand. I am sure your dog will adept to new house. Quarantine period for the dog is 1 month I think right? You really need time to go and visit your dog when in quarantine.

I will do the grooming cuz i have experience doing it. If any problem, i will ask my groomer for help, FOC Yep. i dont really like dog satying in boarding facilities because i feel like lack of human touch between the dog and human.. MY female dog will cope with her fine cuz she use to socialize with her doggie mate in JT event every saturday

u really dun mind taking care of our furkids?! my dog has been to boarding for 3 times already and once was for 18 days... he came back without voice! cant bark for a week liddat... i tried asking ppl for help but nobody can that time...
if u dun mind... i might let u take care of my furkid instead! mostly during holidays though... >< i'll pay of coz^^ and can i know where r u staying?

Congratulations - looks like you've started Malaysia's first cage-free boarding kennel! This is a growing trend in the US as more and more dog-lovers realise that their pets will be less stressed by staying with a "family" instead of being treated like a patient or an inmate...!

Currently i cant take any more dog for boarding now because i have a rescue GSD with me and he had skin disease that is mange. He is now quarantine in my place. He will only be release to his adoptee in mid june..Until then i cant take in any doggie..I dont want any dog under my care spread by the disease..

me lucky cuz my mom love animal alot espdoggie..that is an advanthage...my mum want to do it more when she retired in 2 years time...so that why i can start really really serious next time...no bad idea to have a lot of doggie in your home without need to purchase one...can see which breed suit me more...hehehe

Looks like all of you are having a ball in KL and I envy being able to find a good borading as I am craking my head now looking for boarding in Penang. As I have 3 silkies and looking for boarding for 5 days... hmm tough. Was hoping to look for dog owner rather than pet shop boarding. . ym
my service is in serdang but if you have transprostation problem...i will personally pick up your dog...well i promise will not kidnape your dog for sure...

Hi, I am joining in very late - sorry. Just wondering how the topic developed. Could you find a dog friendly family to take care of the dog?
It seems a lot more difficult to find a dog friendly family for a giant breed. I would love the idea to leave my little pup with a loving family instead of putting her in a kennel. My dog shares our life and roams freely around, inside the house and outside. Logically, she has a problem when placed into a kennel.
I would introduce myself and the dog to the family that would be willing to take care of my pup during my overseas trip prior to any arrangement and certainly long before I would make the trip. Just to be sure that both (the forster family and my dog) are fine and can go along well.

To fly around with a dog is not easy in Malaysia and it cost, especially for a giant breed dog, but still can manage.
But going overseas is nearly impossible. You have to be 4 hours before take-off at the freight terminal and on your return the dog stays in quarantine for ??? days or even ??? weeks. This depends on the officer's personal opinion only. Short and easy, it is not an option to take your puppy for a holiday trip abroad

is very difficult to boarding or bring them together, coz different country different spec. on quarantine, heard someone said, if import a puppy in must quarantine at least 1 week at KLIA.....

yeah ! at least 1 week, coz 1 of member is from china, they import a toy breed to malaysia, need to be quarentine 1 week (with food) the charges is around RM1000 above......
If you got free on sat, you can us on jungle trackking too . you can view on event calender !
ya sure...you can come and see how the place it....i dont have a palace but i have a passion for dog only arh..me and dog can click very well but not cat lor..... if i take care your dog...no problem..he/she will not kena walap only royality treatment....as JT friend...my Bobby is treated like a royality but still kena scold if do anything wrong lor... be happy to meet you in the future..

Hey, I am about 10 years in Malaysia and used to the local English - so no problem lah.
Thanks for the invitation to JT, but first of all, I am in JB and secondly my dog is a double coated beast and to bath my dog after a JT is a major job and will take a bottle of shampoo and several hours with heavy duty fan on drying it. I guess that I just keep on walking around the field either early morning or late night (I am still very much expat when it comes to heat and tropical sun)
Haha, you might end up getting one for yourself. They do not drool, they do not smell "doggy", they don't make noice and are fully dedicated body guards. Some people call them "lean-on-berger" since they can get very attached to a person.
Downside: lots of fur around the house, no matter how often your maid is using the vacuum cleaner, which by the way might get "rosak" doing this job. Bathing and drying the beast is an exhausting work. Last but not least, the male dog with 70 Kg++ needs some amount of food, so not a cheap breed. Most vets have no idea about the breed and even Dr. Siva had to contact US to learn before doing treatment.
I will be waiting .. With 3 silkies... by the way did I say that the char koay teow he is awesomely great and so is the asam laksa... ( some incentive for moving to penang).....ym
By the way u describe it, it is no no breed for me liao....i will get broke...owning 2 GSD on my own also killing me lioa...I think i pass on this offer owning this nobleman one...i think i just board one for a short period just to get the heck on having this breed as an experience... If it normally shed too much like you said, they probably spend their time outside and sleep in the inside during the nighttime.... wah...vacumn cleaner can jam, this is one of the breed one person with alot of patience and love...salute you man...

Well, that is the good thing about the various dog breeds. Everyone can select the right breed for his life style, budget and preference.
Our dog is always with us - OK, mainly with my wife, since I have to run to make the dough . She will clearly prefer any location, as long as she is part of the "pack" and will select the resting spot under the air-con.
Shedding twice a year only, but then you can fill a plactic bag within a day. Might be a business oportunity to start clothes factory.
Patience and Love you need for any breed of dog and you will get 1000 times more in return.
Since we have her in the house, the attempted break-ins dropped down to zero. Keep my fingers crossed that it will stay this way. This much about the chance of getting broke while owning this type of giant breed.
Rakan just came back from . He was happy to go home but I think he had a great time there! First he went for a "sleepover party" for two nights. Just to see how it would go. When I dropped him of for the three weeks "holiday" he was to exited to say bye bye.... He didn't notice that we where leaving . But he was very happy to see us again after three weeks time (I was a bit worried about that, him being so excited when I left him behind...) The homemade dog cookies and doggie cake he is absolutely crazy about. I have to say that I almost eat it myself It looked so good!
echo your comments about zero break ins with a dog in the house. My Pom ( probably a tenth size of your majesty) will bark the whole house down if I try "sneaking" upstairs without dropping by his cage to say hello ( he sleeps in his cage at our dining room)! Does the same whenever a stranger drops by the house. Sure makes you feel secure with a " natural burglar alarm" around.

By the way, I can see you love dogs as well...you're in good company as Nicky and gang are as good as they come.

I have just heard of mamadog this weekend. They had a counter at The Curve. Their concept of boarding sounds pretty interesting. I was wondering at the time when you dropped Rakan off, how many other dogs were there? I am just doing some research so just incase I have to travel for work, I can put Scruffy for boarding there.
Oh and the cookies and cakes are really good. I bought some for Scruffy to eat and he absolutely loves it. He especially like the cheese flavoured one.
So do tell me more about your experience there lah.
You are most welcome. The treats are really good. Are you gonna be there every weekend? I need to know cause Scruffy has finished all the treats and I need to get more.
By the way the cheese treat was what motivated him to do the paw command.
Will call tomorrow. Running around trying to get things settled in. Quarantine center at KLIA actually quite decent as far as kennel goes..clean and spacious but nothing compared to real home. Schedule coming Monday discharge from Quarantine. Will get him checked at Vet to make sure he's okay and proper doggy shower first. Ready to take him on Monday or Tuesday?
