Somehow i think it does make some sense...

At least pple who dont respect a dog will not simply keep a dog for fun...

Pple who really love dogs will dont mind the trouble....

Of course certain points like asking left right center conscent is a bit too taxing

They should also make a rule that before you rear a cat, you must ask left, right, centre consent too.

cats are also pets....

hi minglmy,

I wonder what'll happened to the current *banned* doggies in Shah Alam since the owners are given the option to either "surrender them to Shah Alam City Council (MBSA) or get rid of the doggies themselves" when Jan 1 2006 comes? ( tdy's Malay Mail on pg 12)

what an ultimatum they given to the such breed owners! That they have to look for another home outside of Shah Alam area when next year comes. How about those who are not renting and had bought the house there?

What crime have the doggies done? Just becoz they have been born in certain, now deemed 2b *banned/dangerous* breed that da majority have to pay for the misdeeds of the few?? Frown

*Not so happy Cordy*

the only discrimination here is the asking here there n everywhere for consent which not everyone have understanding or good neighbours some of us have bad relationship with our neighbours so that will cause some problem here.

“Dogs surrendered to us would be sent to the Dog Rehabilitation Centre in Subang Jaya,” he said.

blardy piece of shit this is. Ok, definitely will not move anywhere NEAR Shah Alam area when I look for a house of my own ! *%&#^&!!! WTF ! damn discrimination and they really gonna burn down a whole village because of 1 house. what kind of reasoning is that man....... *&Q#$(*7 !

i think it has come to a point where we (certain) malaysians have gone back in time. The problem is, we have irresponsible pet owners who breed dogs solely on guarding basis. these dogs inturn are brainwashed to be aggresive. I do sympathize with people who were/are victmimized from these aggressors but what people need to understand is that ALL DOGS ARE NOT AGGRESSIVE unless treated like crap or are trained to be one. I have come across numeous pitbulls, dobermans, rotties whilst in the US and they are just as passive as friggin' worms! What makes me mad, the majority of staff that governs the country's legislative are all of MELAYU breed who are mostly ignorant and naive when it comes to dogs. for some reason dogs are of a taboo. what they have failed in their laws, are far more potent issues that are ACTUALLY happening in Malaysia which needs to be addressed ASAP-RAPE, police bribery, police incompetence etc... Dogs are the least they have to worry.

Being a Malay myself, i am disgusted by my race in this country who looks down at dogs like breeds from hell. But raping their children/grandchildren is actually a norm. is there justice?

My late granduncle is an Islamic scholar- he prays 5 times a days, loves his family, had 1 wife and dogs. he once told us, our Prophet Muhammad had dogs in his days.

Whatever happened to the true meaning of Islam-love all of God's creation?????

irresponsible are really to be blame ! Some purposely train their dogs by putting fear in them so that they turn aggressive and in turn will be a good guard dog to their precious home. These people never think of the dog. They never realise the problem they have in creating an uncontrollable dog.

Yes, dog is the least of our government or MPXX/DBXX problem and they shd spend more time tackling other more useful things than talk abt the dogs. If they want, they should have find a better solution to curb the strays cats n dogs n also those SUPER BIG FAT RATS than anything.

Dogs I believe in the olden days are dirty and unhealthy n etc but nowdays... look around, some of the dogs and even mongrel at home are so healthy they are different from centuries ago.

at least your dog is restricted to a leash or the compound of your house. cats....they go everywhere. you name it. they can go there.. , drain, toilet, kitchen, etc. and they bury their poo. it's like a time bomb as you cannot see them. once you step on them. the smell will linger for days.

i read about the ban in Shah Alam..
I think they are looking for a instant solution.
I mean baning the breed rottie in that area is unacceptable. Cuz i think rottie is one of the fav breed in Malaysia. Some more..this solution only create more porblem like by 2006,
1. More Rottie roaming as stray in the street. Why? who wan to keep if malaysia keep on sending the wrong information on this breed?
2. Ppl from other world think we are selfish, dog like rottie also cannot live with, how to live with other species in the world.

Simply i think alot of malaysian is still very shallow thinker.

Find solution that work not create more problem

Malaysian need to be re-educate and re-learn about becoming a RESPONSIBLE OWNER..do not blame it on the animal.

Like everyone said
There is no such thing as bad dog only bad owner.

Peace and sign out

For the boy's case, they just published the incident the dog bit the boy, but none of them give further detail. I am sure everybody will ask, why the dog bit him?

So, sure your mail will not see the sun light.

THey have this cuture, throw stone at the bad thing/ppl, like ppl who denouced islam, dog is bad so they stone. THis has been instiled in their mind from the day they receive education.

I saw one malay guy, not only trow stone, he even purposely ram the dog when he drove by, many times and one time he succeeded. the poor dog with serious injury on his head was never seen after few days. The dog is belong to one of his neighbour.

Did you guy know they will receive "bonus" (in heaven ?) for every house lizard they killed? Ask you muslim friends.

guys, relax, the dateline is 1 jan 2006. by the time comes, everything is forgotten and there will be ways of getting around all these restrictions (if you know what i mean...) the bl**dy newspapers would have picked up some other news to sell their newspapers, like stoopid datuk singer in jail, stoopid pretty singer is a witness in court, like those are the most important things happening here in malaysia.

as for the crazy fella who wrote to the nst to ban all dogs, to him i say 'GO TO HELL'. my doggies give me unconditional love. and i give them back all my love.

if banning all dogs is the way to stop dog violence, then i suppose we have to kill all men, because some of them beat their wives and rape their daughters. kill all women, because they abuse their indonesian maids. then what do we have left, no more humans. i just cannot understand the narrow-mindedness there are in certain people.

there are good muslims who understand god's beautiful creations. i have seen a malay school bus driver who comes everyday with food to feed a family of strays in my neighbourhood. that man has my respect.

fatty lingling (left) and petite tutu (right), protected by handsome nicky at the back - my 3 precious babies.
now i have 4 babies but baby adek just cannot stay still for a photo-shoot!!

according to one of my frens there is this news in the newspaper about an indian boy being bitten by a dog .. and its not at the front page.. AND they mentioned that the boy disturb the dog first..

is this fair?????? what's the deal with dogs and malays?? can anyone answer me??? did dogs do sumting bad to malays??

having said that.. not all malays are bad... but just majority Frown

another concern is that will the MPSA ruling be adopted by other MPxx??

what i heard from my malays friend is the reason they are not allow to any connection wiith dog was because an incident happen the past, there are this disease a dog carry which now was confirmed as *rabies* has attack one of their holy priest and he died and some where some how he pass on the disease and alot of their ppl die before it stop so they believe god sent the dog with that disease to punish them for their sin..that one is told by a friend..not so sure how true is it..

at the end..what they annouce now is going to be a huge and create more porblem in the future..i can bet on that...

I think they should banned chicken next and all cannot eat chicken...because chicken bought chicken flu...next on the list is cow....because cow bought mad cow disease...anything else that we can ban. if you follow their religion strictly...their people not even suppose to play guitar...yet you see their people in illegal motorbike races (which our DBKL/police will not interfere as it is their people), riots, buring flags, etc.

ha!ha! yeah, i totally agree with u. while we're at it, why don't they ban humans as well. news like parents killing their own children and vice versa are quite common nowadays. just b'cos they're humans, they deserve to live longer is it? stupid logic...... what is the meaning of democracy if u are not even to allowed to rear dogs in your own house. must get permission from neighbours, local council and some other stupid people who might not know the slightest bit about dogs...... so sad....... maybe can let the whole world see how shallow, stupid and dictatorial some malaysians are........ democratic my a#$.......

my my ask the neighbours for permission for renewal of licences what a stupid thing to do.
100% the Malay neighbour definitely will not sign the letter so my poor dog will not get her licence renewed then what will happen to precious doggy.
The last time i was keeping a cocker spaniel in my compound and one day i received a notice from MPXX for complaints filed by my neighbour. I asked MPXX what was the problem and they informed me that they complained about the barking and the shit smell. I asked MPXX which dog don bark when they see stranger and I can't be sitting the whole day in the house waiting for the dog to do her business becoz I clean my compound early in the morning b4 I go to work. My children told me that one day they noticed that he even wacked a poor dog which happen to go into their house half dead. Poor doggy.
My poor doggy died of food poisoning and i am sure they must have thrown something to my dog to eat becoz my other neighbour told me that when we are not around they will shout at my dog. I can just imagine how u expect me to get written permission from this inhuman idiots for renewal of licence for now I am having a miniature snauzher which I am keeping in the house and not letting her out of the house which I think my dog life is more luxurious than them.
I really think it is rediculous for the MPXX to impose such rules for getting a licence for a dog. Ppl will think twice in getting a licence. Anyway ppl should be careful and responsible when keeping the fierce dogs. Well if u don disturb the dogs I don think the dogs will bite u becoz dogs also know who are bad and good. If u are kind and nice to the dogs they will definitely be nice to u. If u keep on disturbing them they will surely keep u in memory and take revenge on u one day. Sometime just don look and listen to one side of the story see both sides and only comment. One thing happen then make an issue of things.
I fully agree if want to set rules for dogs then also set rules for cats. They are also nuisance. Shit everywhere and breed even under my bed !!!!!!!! My goodness. Dogs will listen not like cats which are more fierce than dogs.
So staying in Shah Alam no dog lovers. FrownFrownFrown

My family rent in an intermmediate unit with ROCKY.. Luckly, we r not in SA, esle, ROCKY will be gone with the wind.. Pirate

I feel so sorry for the dog owners at SA which are badly victimised.. Now, i am worry that, the strict rules would be apply in other areas in the future..

I say we should together write a formal letter, and sign it, pass it to MPSA.. Also, an online petition, emails them, call them up, writes to all the medias, including tv stations about our rights...!! Let them hear us and respect us..!!

It won't happen in other area other than SA, i think 2 days back the article from The Star on special training for dogs before approve license is a good move after all and u know in Harian Metro mention 2 dogs for 1 house with 1000 p.s.f area and what SA mention was just to scare us dogs lovers only lets wait and see what is the outcome of the guideline.

This guy [that association chairman and the Anti-Dog Assocication in Kepong/JinJang] is the Servile Follower, a "Chow Kow" running dog, running away from dog. They are not only run away from our loyal friends but also they re running away from their ancestor.

Shame on you this type of people, sell your soul, sell your granfather's surname for your immdiate benefits.

In another case not related to Dog, A developer in Kepong is sueing a temple commitee for million of ringgit for not relocate the temple for their development. If that is a mosque instead, they will not do it and they may built the road for them somemore!! .THis type of incidemt will only happen to Chinese, Why..????

Why Chinese got so many "Chow Kaw"??? Shame!

I dont like to rear cat, Does not meant I hate cat and want to kill all the cat!! There is this type of belief that banned dog and try to kill all the dogs. If they believe this world including the beatiful dogs is created by their Almighty, why they still want to kill other creature of the same Almighty?? They betrayed their own belief!!

dont worry..banning a dog will not happen in Malaysia only more rule and regulation will set up...even the dept of vet mention in paper today, Malay Mail state that "those authority" planning to ban dog should get better solution from other party such as dog owner..a better solution can be made...trust me, the governemnt do not want agree dog lover running their office to complain all the time..if not..the govenrment office wil be attack by a bunch of dog lover and their k-9 soon...like chines said..."lai chap, fong kau" - close the gate, release the dog...

Re: [ALL] Article from The Star 26/4/05 - Tighter rules for dogs in Shah Alam [In reply to] Can't Post

Hey guys,

Thanks for putting this up and I am sure glad someone did!! Reading the articles only made me angrier and also worried for all my doggies in SA. I used to live in Kota Kemuning but now am residing in a condominium in PJ. Fortunately, my family lives in a bungalow, however, with them banning rotties.. that is going to separate us and Chal-sec and Rod (both our Rotties). I don't know what plans my dad has with them at the moment, but it would be very very painful to let them go.

To all the people who stands supporting the dog owners in SA, a big thank you to you! and I surely know that with the constant disatisfaction of the dog lovers and dog owners, MPSA or the authorities will change their minds and start looking at the solutions of the problem, rather than taking the short cut!

Another article today came out in the Star, listing the types of dogs banned. It's just so sad...

Hi fellow members of the forum,

This subject has been on the low profile lately but I am certain even now most of us who have dogs are living in fear of our local council. Just last week in P.J. while visiting a friend, I saw and idiot (adult) walking two dogs, one a mongrel on a brace leash and a doberman, oversize (well that is what it seems to me) off leash. The dob is not really behaving as it was darting around. Imagine other people taking their evening stroll with their kids, people who do not like dogs and people with religion that cannot like dogs, a menacing big dog darting around... just plan stupidity. Now, I urge fellow members please have some consideration for fellow dog owners and do not make this subject of dog ownership worse than what it is, by just walking your dog on a leash. Just in case, even if your dog walks on perfect heel (by your side at all time) still on a leash is better. It is better to say, "my dog has never snap or bitten anyone then my dog do not bite". Just consider, an individual is calm and not at all aggressive but I am certain if push hard enough this person will snap too.

Again, walk your dogs on a leash, ( it is the law after all). thanks for reading.

Dear All Dogs' Friends,

Hi! I'm new to this forum and website. Am I glad to have found this website. I'm currently stayin in Shah Alam too. And I'm now facing the stupid MBSA regulation of renewing dog licence. I've submitted my dog's photo, its kennel, my house, signatures from neighbours and RM50 for application! ($$ sucker). I wonder if any of you people know where I can raise my concerns of this stupid ruling eg. any associations or groups which can help us to voice our problems and talk to the government. It is so sad to hear that we leaving in the intermediate house can't have dogs and my first feeling was "ARE WE NOT HUMAN"?????? We have feelings for pets too!! Are they asking us to give away our dogs after taking care of them for years???? It's so HEARTLESS!!!! I think we have human rights!!! If my application is being rejecte... I'm sure to do something !!! So if any of you know of anywhere i can make noise, please let me know.

Hi Jackal_lwk,

I am not sure if you did response to my posting as there is nothing in it. From what I have read from your posting, my suggestion is, you should write to all the main newspaper and enclose a copy of your application plus also to M.K.A., S.P.C.A. if need be and try and embarrass the authority in to playing their hand. Do ask for a response from M.K.A. and S.P.C.A. so at least you know that what you have done to your home to cater for the dog is sufficent so if rejected you can then ask the council awkward question like for someone who do not know dogs how can you determine what is right and what is not. Send a copy of your application to the Menteri Besar too, registered post at least you know he has got it. In the mean time train your dog to a point whereby you can stop it from barking at a snap of a finger etc to show you have control of your dog. This is what I would most likely do and all the best.

Hi PSY,

I guess you're right. I wasn't replying to your posting but was just using the heading to get help. Guess I'm bothered by my application status. Thanks for your guide. But i just wonder how will they react and hit back on me. My dog seldom bark... it's a labrador and its very very lazy. So far I've got no complain from neighbours as I don't let my dog out. Can you imagine,in the row of house where I stay, my 2 side and 2 opposite neighbours are chinese, other than that... all Malay. And they seems ok. Even, one of them like to bring his grandchild to see my dog.

You're right. I just wonder why those people are soooo.. confident that their dogs will stay still even when they see a cat or other dogs ??? Aren't they afraid their dog will run and get wild when its not leashed?

Adious.

A dog reaction is all instintive, so you need to break by training. My dogs, Weimer and Dob will go for anything when they are "release" or their mode is "do what you like" but once their choke collar is on I can make them sit or down and a cat can run in front of their tracks they will not chase. It is all training really. If you wish to talk more on training give me a call st 019 231-1032, I may be of a little help. Oh, my other dog, the brindle coloured one, well whatever command she will go and if you are hanging on to her leash, rest assured you will be going with her for the cat, rat oir wahtever.

Cool I spoiled my dog, so that I can walk the dog without risking my health, life or limbs. BTW, my dog will listen to me, with or without collar. However, without collar the hearing senses are less accurate and less sensitive Tongue, thus requires giving the commands very loud and in a very stern voice.
