Date : April 2nd, 2005

Meeting Venue : Taman Pendidikan Bukit Gasing

Time : 7.30 am

into the jungle by 7.45 AM pls note that we will not wait for anyone who is late....as we do not want to attract anymore unwanted attention from none dog lover. I hope you can understand .... so pls be punctual.

Join us in the list below :

Direction 1 :

From Padang Merbok’s roundabout use the way towards Telekom. After driving passed Telekom on your left you will see a row of shoplot and signboard of a restaurant called “Lotus? Just before Lotus Restaurant, on your right, you will see a Chinese Temple and there is a junction. Turn right. After turning do go all the way straight for about 200 ?300 meter and there should be a playground of some sort and you can park your cars there. There should be a signboard that says : Tmn Pendidikan Bukit Gasing.

Direction 2 :

Beside the Lasalle School, there is the Raju Restaurant ?go straight all the way up and you will reach a T junction. At the T junction do turn to your right and go all the way straight you should be able to see the playground.

Things to take note of :

1. Dogs have to be on leash/harness on all times.
2. Please pick up after our furkids poo.
3. Bring plastic bags
4. Bring water for human n for furkids
5. Wear stockings
6. Have a good pair of walking shoe or sneakers.
7. One dog per person is highly recommended as it’s a real jungle trail. 8. Bring your mobile just incase you need to call for rescue. :P 9. Don’t wear too short a shorts if you are afraid of being scratch by the bushes and donating blood to the mozzy ya ! ;

eh dun worry about rain, so far no rain in the morning but in the evening. The shallow stream is like could not even drown dog. But anyway there will be always a float nearby.

How old for a puupy to go for a jungle trekking? i had a golden retreiver 5 mths old of age. Is this jungle trekking suitable for him? Can anyone of u let me know? Cos i am interested for the jungle trekking. Thanks...

btw, make sure the bags that you bring are the hardy types. i'm bringing the ones that we use to store our diazo papers...firm, hadry and waterproof. will bring about 6.

What kind of skin problem??? Rakan is scratching a lot too lately and getting spots on his back. He just started to get a nice fur again. We figured before he had to many mosquito bites. Maybe that's what it is now again. Does anybody know what to use on Rakan to keep the mosquitoes of???

Dear All,

An unfortunate event have happened last week during the trekking session .... one of the member Amanda's dog kinki's harness snapped during the trek and what happen later was the unthinkable. Kinki walked away from the crowd and till now she is lost in the jungle.

Immediately after the group knows that the Kinki was lost, they immediately had a search party and few members : evie, munyee & fawn, peyshy, pcm, kaori n cindy went around 3 rounds (long routes n other routes) with amanda looking for kinki with few diff routes that we been through before. While Audrey and the rest went outside at the main entrance asking around to see if anyone saw kinki or if kinki manage to walk out by herself and search around the playground area.

On sat noon, jo went in to the trek helping to search for kinki, rocky went abt 4 pm or so and kaori went in with amanda again at abt 5pm to look again.

On sunday morning audrey organised a search party again together with rocky, kiyomi, jo, lilian, kaori, evie going round in the trek again unfortunately kinki is still missing.

We will continue to organise search party to help in looking for kinki.... anyone free tomorrow after work ? we can go around looking especially the residence area too which needs to be cover. please write down ur name here

As an update, please note that flyers has been going around the area by amanda herself also distributed by evie. All help would be appreciated.

End note, please take this as a lesson.... not to let your dog on offleash no matter what. I cant stress this rule enough time n again and its not coz i want to control anything but its for our dog's safety as you can see from this incident clearly.

Lets do our part to help in this unfortunate incident and do our part in preventing any further this kind of incident from happening.

Amanda, dont be sad.... dont give up hope.... be strong and lets continue keep looking ya !

Was there this afternoon from 4:30 to 5:30pm and did not see any dog packs there. By this time, the Kinki should be in someone's house or kinki may have got out of the Jungle from the other side. Have also tried the Petaling Height area but no luck.

its not just the trekking but also the friendship we forge during the walk weekly + the dog socialization and exercise they get.

Updates for everyone on the Search Party 3 :

we have divided the peope into 2 or 3 in a group and went around searching the area allocated.

Rocky, Amanda + Sister went around the area behind Lotus, Funeral Parlor.

Audrey & Cindy went to EPF front, back and side + residence area back to Gasing Hill side

MunYee, Fawn & Groovy went to the the Kerinchi, Pantai area.

Peyshy, YY and bf went around the Gasing Hills' residence area.

Evie & me went to Padang merbok, Gasing Hill condo, surronding area of tmn petaling girls school also behind raju restaurant's lane.

Khoo's went at 4.30 - 5.30 pm searching around all over.

Jo went at abt 5pm and search the EPF area again.

result, we have distributed alot of flyers to the area but no sign of kinki (yet).

There will be another search party 4 on this coming saturday during the trekking and after the trek. Those who is able to come n help please do so.

Hi Everybody,

I just went to PAWS and spoken to the person in charge, we had put KINKI's flyer on the notice board,as according to the person in PAWS, the dog usally in the state to "SHOCKED" when caught by MPPJ,so its not easy to reconize if the dog will be KINKI or not and she allowed me to take a look at all the dogs inside.

But i did not see any dog have the ears like Kinki.But have feel dogs look same colour.

The MPPJ just deliver few dogs to PAWS while I was there...Kinki was not on the lorry !

Saw a slim collar being sold dat claims 2 be able 2 keep pesky insects away from ur dog. D aroma secreted by d collar will last for bout 3 mths once wrapping is opened. Made of some mixed herbal substance n gives out quite a pleasant smell…similar 2 minty, citronella candles. Bought 1 4 Groovy just 4 fun. Dont know how effective it is but d aroma is quite therapeutic…so v like it.

D shop is at Sri Hartamas name after d ‘80s pop duo Pet Shop Boys, next 2 a pet grooming saloon. If u r coming from KL it’s d older row of shoplots on d left-hand side, opposite d hawker stalls.

But u know how resilient Msian mozzies r…u need 2 spray a whole can of bug repellant b4 dey even begin 2 move on 2 d next victim. Think d collar works fine at home/ indoors but unlikely 2 keep d jungle mozzies away.

Groovy, ‘Yup, dis herbal collar is quite hip n groovy…like me.’
